I put it in my wife's 2017 today.  The radio was $230 for a 4g 8core android 13 one.  They are universal android radios with canbus functions built in.  They are not specifically for a particular car but they put them in specific dash kits to fit a variety of vehicles. So you have to dig into settings that aren't obvious to figure out how to get things like the AC and the controls to work.  I made a video of it.  Ignore my shakiness and nasally voice. lol.  I lost my nostrils fighting as a kid.

I'd assume most of the ones on Amazon would be the same but I wanted the one I found on eBay to get a newer android version.  In my experience they don't ever get updated so getting 13 over say 10 is a big deal.

I have a older one, 8 or so, in my Challenger SRT8.  It is good and has worked perfect.  However, this one I installed in the wife's car makes me a bit jealous.  I'm definitely going to have to upgrade my F150 now to keep up.

AC controls work 100%.  Heated seats and all that too if you have it.  Lots of things you can activate and deactivate outside of what the factory radio had I think.  It came with adapters for everything like the factory backup camera and stuff if you have that.  Mine was a stripped down version.  It came with a backup camera.  It retains the factory USB.  You have to use the plugs on the CD player and the Radio - I didn't realize this initially and didn't get why I didn't have power til I realized that the the plug with all the black wires was canbus only and not radio wires per say.

It came with the canbus box and all of that.  Everything was included.  The only wires that don't get used in the dash are the HSD cable(white with purple on it) that runs between the CD player and Radio in the factory setup.  It isn't necessary as it only runs between them though.

Well, here is the video.  I have to pop it back off to install the backup camera(she had to go somewhere) in the next couple days so I could take pictures of whatever if anyone is interested or needs help on what is going on behind the scenes.

This is one of the first videos I've ever made and it broke up in the middle.  I had to splice it together, so it is the first video I've ever edited too.  I'm not a professional, go easy. lol.

Here is the video.  I'd appreciate a like, comment, or whatever if you watch it.  I had a real tough time finding information on switching the radio out and I found little in the way of information.  Let me know if you decide to install one based on my experience.

If there is interest I'll do a walkthrough of the entire install when I pop it off to install the backup camera.  Using a tripod or anti-shake filtering and a better view of the screen to not make it so shaky and not zoomed in.

I had to put it on Youtube because it was more than 10mb.

The one on the right side of the cabin filter is the recirculate actautor. That's the one that causes fogging when it gets stuck in recirculate mode.

Couple of weeks ago we had that, dash lights flicker Journey wouldn't start.Charged the battery fixed it and I tookk all the grounds off the  strut tower and cleaned them up.No problems since so yes this is a great suggestion  to try.

Again, behind the glovebox remove the cabin filter. That actuator is the one that does the fresh air or recirculate function. The fact that cracking the windows open helps means that it is stuck in recirculate mode. You can remove the power from that actuator and with your hand flip the vent to the fresh air position. That will solve that problem.Reinstall the cabin filter .I  never use recirculate anyway but I did replace the actuator.Sometimes that is not even necessary as the old actuators will start to work again.

The recirculate door is stuck and not bringing in fresh air. It's behind the glovebox where the cabin filter sits.

Not a recall but I did receive a letter from FCA a while back that extended the active head restraint warranty to 10 years and it covers quite a few different vehicles including the 2012-2018 Journey.I will attach the notice later.

That sounds like quite a story the csr person is telling you.I'm sure the same bt modules are used by multiple vehicles.I was amazed when my wife changed from an iphone (not sure which model) to a Samsung budget galaxy phone. The Samsung can actually read text messages through uconnect while the iphone never could.I was very surprised by the less functional iphone integration

    Hey Guys,
My daughter has a 2010 Dodge Journey SXT and it has been a great vehicle.  She has over 250,000 kms (150,000 miles) on it and the only thing we ever dealt with were tires, oil changes, brakes and rear struts.  This summer though, the alternator starting making some noise and all the lights on the dash were flickering so I went to Auto Value and got a new alternator so I figured I would replace the battery at the same time since it was almost 6 years old.  We live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and it is not unusual to have at least a couple of months of -20C to -30C weather and I don't have a heated garage so changing batteries when they are in the damn wheel well in mid-January is not my idea of fun.  The vehicle ran great until a couple of weeks ago just out of the blue the battery started dying overnight.  My daughter could drive it all day starting and stopping it with no issues but when she parked it overnight the battery was DOA in the morning.  So, of course, she would call me at 7:30 AM to come jump her battery so she could get to work on time.  Luckily the temperature has been well above normal, so I was able to get outside and do some troubleshooting on the vehicle.  Alternator was putting out 14.4 Volts and after a 15 minute drive battery was charged back up to 12.6 V so I eliminated the battery and the alternator as issues.  So, I tried doing a parasitic drain test using a 1 ohm 10 watt resistor in series with the negative battery cable to check voltage drain.  I had about a 45 mV drain on the battery which after some searching on the internet seemed to be within reason for some electronics and the TIPM.  I was at a complete loss about what was draining the battery for over 2 weeks.  It would run fine all day but if it sat overnight battery would be drained in the morning.  Finally, this morning I got up with my wife at 5:30 AM to help her get ready for work.  So, I went to the front door to remote start her vehicle and I look outside and the brake lights were lit up on the 2010 Dodge Journey SXT sitting in the driveway.  JACKPOT.  I went outside and pumped the brake a couple of times and the brake lights went out but the battery was dead.  I got out of the vehicle and walked around the back and just out of the blue the brake lights came on again.  I called the local Dodge dealership and ordered up a brake light switch and went and picked it up a few hours later.  $27 Canadian.  You can probably by them in the states for $10 knowing how they rip us off up here.  Installed the switch and tested it for a few minutes and everything seems to be working fine.  Drove it all day without issue, but the real test will be leaving it parked all weekend.  Might be worth a try for you guys to get a new brake switch and see what happens.  Maybe you will get lucky.

Hope this helps someone.  It is a really frustrating problem boosting batteries in the middle of the winter.

If you really feel that the radio is the problem, why not pull the fuse for it for a couple of weeks and see if that is what's causing the problem before  doing a wiring/ relay work around.

Glad you got it fixed. We have the same year Journey and I ran into this almost a year ago. I replaced the actuator but when I pulled the old one and just plugged it into the wiring harness it seemed to work. Some people report that tapping them can "wake them up" but there are 3 in the vehicle all the same so now I have a spare.

Watch this it's probably what you need  for the older 3.6l the part is listed  this is the guy that got them to make the bypass available without replacing the entire assembly
