well went to use the air a little bit today cold on the drivers side and hot on the passenger side no matter when moving from the reg vents to the floor or into the def mode still cold on drivers side and hot on passenger side, so I let down the glove box and then also moved the padded panel under the glove box so I could see better and the blend door wasn't moving at all so I wiggled the electrical connector a bit and also tapped on the blend door with a long screwdriver and then it started working again,,now this was the small blend door on the left side of the glove box and towards the back NOT the big vanilla color wheel attached to a different blend door,, the one I was working on controls JUST the heat or ac for the passenger side and the controls for the vents do NOT make it move,so don't get that confused in your mind I added a small video that I found on the web...............
 

First off welcome to the group .............so does your gas gage work when you fill it up from empty? I assume you are talking about the info telling you what you have left before running out ( distance till empty)....if your fuel tank is full and the gas gage is saying empty then replacing the fuel pump/level float  in your tank would be the answer unless you have some bad wiring somewhere between the tank causing the problem,,,if its just the distance till empty info sensor then I believe you are out of luck as your journey is at least 14 yrs old   and I have never heard anyone else complain of this problem...good luck and please report back on what ever you find out to your problem for others to learn from it....You could try to do a reset by removing the cables from the battery post I am not sure if yours has the battery disconnect near the upper firewall that we have on the newer journey but let it stay disconnected for around 20 minutes or so and then reconnect...does the same thing as if you are rebooting your computer might help and doesn't cost anything

I didn't grind any paint off the studs but I did  cleaned it real good with a wire brush and I live in Alabama with  almost no salt problems like most experience ,I even ran a separate ground from the negative battery jump points to the wires and ground stud and that didn't make any difference as well, It turned off cold again today around 55 degrees so I didn't mess with it but I did take it to my most trusted mechanic one  that I only  will use and showed and explained everything that has went on and what I had done  and was asking if it would be worth cutting off the 2 ground lugs connectors and maybe a couple of inches of wire   off the wires and reattach new ones, and,his advise to me was to leave it alone, as he said most times when it has the  internal problem  failure code then it is the unit going bad even if it is just intermittent and since it will  be covered under my warranty if we start messing with it they might try to deny my warranty claim on the repair that is  IF they ever get a replacement part,so the only thing I don't like is the cruise control not working it isn't a serious problem to me, just frustrating...........BUT I still have that nagging feeling that it is due to the ground wires are involved....

Well, the '14 is back home and I drove it 60 miles with NO NOISES from the trans. and running quite nicely. $14 for doughnuts and settled at $550 for flex plate and fluids with a bit of labor. Going to Christmas gift him before the holiday of an additional $100.
Part for son's home furnace won't be here till a Tues. install time, and already have quote for part and labor that he says he can well handle. Probably going to have 3 overnight "guests" with us tonight and Sunday night, son, his fiance and her cat. It will be interesting to see how our old cat will take to another cat being in "her turf"! We have a veritable heat wave for the season coming Friday and Sat.

Not to ever critique someone but 3 is such a odd #. You really should get a 4th. A much more even and fun # ? ? ? ? ?

update: got 4 new tires and got 4 new sensors from eBay ($60 aud)  fitted today and the issue is now fixed.

9 years and 120000km it’s still the best car I have ever owned ?

Camber link arms were replaced on the '14 and '11 with moog non adjustable units, and NOT hard to do. I had also bought thru rock auto 2 sets of adjustable units due to a very good price but have not used them yet. The '14's main problem turned out to be the toe link arms, which I replaced and installed greaseable eccentric bolts. That was NOT easily done due to WNY RUST. I set rear toe by alternate {non alignment machine}method, and have a total toe of 0" as it should be. I spent a lot of my auto tech career doing suspension/alignment work, so am pretty confident all will be good on the '14.
In my opinion the toe links should have been designed like the adjustable camber links.

Try cleaning the ABS connector with an electrical cleaner spray can, always remove the negative cable from the battery, remove the ABS connector module and spray the male and female connector with good amount of cleaner. I use the WD40 contact cleaner brand.

Well, hit the big one and my rockers seem to be 'ticking' now. Dodge quoted $2400 to inspect, then they'll give me a final price...ugh. Anyone else replace their rockers (or lifters)? I got another quote for no more than $2000 with all lifters and rockets replaced. 

It’s the 3.6, new thermostat last year and bled the system with the bleeder screw, checked it this morning after getting up to temp to open the thermostat. No more bubbles coming out. Fingers crossed 

you will need a magnetic spark plug socket OR use any deep well socket and then a telescopic magnet to lift the plug out of the hole and then use a piece of plastic tuning to attach to the tip of the plug to lower it into the opining, or I did see a video on sticking the plug into the coil and then use that to lower it into the opening or just splurge on buying the proper magnetic socket, easy to do good luck

thanks for coming back and posting your experience/solution... that is what makes a forum work

if your rear tires are wearing on the inside or outside of the tires ( camber)then your rear upper control arm is out of adj and it is a NON adj part has to be replaced and then a 4 wheel alignment done, check out you tube and go with the aftermarket adj control arm that is what i did and it solved my problem.

well I see the whole assy listed on eBay kind of pricey ,might want to check there or check with your local dealership for the correct answer

Maybe it is oil?

Inside wiper assembly is a switch that parks blades when they are turned off. Makes sure they go to the right place.
When you physically turn stalk switch off they will still cycle to the low parked position which finally kills the power.
Im guessing that internal wiper motor switch is flaky and not doing the final power off. 

so what is the journey doing as of now? , we need a lot more info?,,overheating? what is ity doing?

Well got a little further. Ran air lines for front through the openings of the side skirt and used the grommet in front of the rear axle for the front bags. And used the grommet that is behind the rear axle for rear bag.
 

 
Then mocked up the frame and used some cardboard to make a stencil for a new rear floor board. The upholstery should arrive tomorrow so during the week hope to have board cut and wrapped. 
 

 
 
New tank should also arrive tomorrow so can then moc that up so once the cadillac gets home so i can pull the manifold, slap it in the Dodge and then move onto the cadillac. Guy doing the upholstery was hit by a semi and so he is running behind. But again that helps me leaving me room in the garage. 
 
The Caddy is my other toy. I took this picture a couple months ago when I picked it up from paint. 
 

The Ford Aerostar vans with the V6 engines were another night mare. There was a doghouse cover in the lower dash for accessing some engine components like distributor cap. Three spark plugs on driver side were barely changeable from under hood. Then two more through passenger wheel well with tire off. Last plug had to be changed from underneath the van with several extensions. Very nasty job, for any mechanic. But they at least used platinum plugs which lasted quite well.
 
Yeah , Journey is far from the worst car to work on for repairs.
 

looks like 16 mpg in city and 21 interstate    depends on how you drive not to far off i get around 18- 20 in city and 23=26 interstate   which engine and how it is being driven?  and have you changed the spark plugs? 165 k =103 k in miles 3.6 change at 100 k and 2,4 eng every 30 k also you are due for the transmission service as well
