Take a look at the rear wiring that goes to the door, there are probably some bad wires that need repairing, I believe that should fix your issue. Kindly let us know if this helps.

Well let's bring this latest sub topic to a close. My son is NOT being transferred, another new hire JUMPED at the posting as he is from Pittsburg and WANTED to be based there.
As for vehicle responsibilities ... Let's just say that things are in a "holding pattern" right now.

Can't believe it has been 10 years here, enjoyed reading  and learning from all of you.  Our 2012 SXT 3.6 L with 131,000 kms has treated out family very well but just was time to move on to another vehicle,, more and more things starting to need replacement it seems simply due to age / mileage ( plus the $6000 trade offer I got ).. The boys no longer need a baseball and hockey team equipment hauling around vehicle.  Guess that means it is time for dad to finally get something for himself, a black 2021 Colorado Z71 midnight edition.  Thanks to everyone who helped educate me and hope I in turn was able to help some others a little also. My journey will be remembered as one of the most trouble free vehicles I've owned besides the damn partial heater core plugging / poor heat on passenger side issue LOL. Take care everyone.

Well I CAN tell you that the the 2.4 motor is NOT a GM unit.
I'm active on a couple other Dodge model forums. From posts there, The 4 sp. trans does have some issues that say solenoid pack replacement..... that does not fix the problem. there are one or two other solenoids inside the trans that require dropping out the valve body and some there have also reported that mechanicals to the valve body have failed. MY suggestion is to have a good trans. shop diagnose/ inspect the car and you proceed from there.

In the 2015-16 peak sales years in US they were number 12 in Canada. Couldn’t find peak sales Canada break down.  Semi-popular or popular, mmm.
Personally I don’t buy a vehicle because it’s popular, it’s function and value end of things.

Cheapest awd vehicle sold north of border, I think that helped them up here for a little bit.  The comment was they are popular and they sell well in Canada. The Voyager/Caravan and Charger/Challenger made up here I think sell pretty well in their segments. In the suv market up here the Journey in its best year  never got to half the current sales of the RAV4 (made here as well) or other suvs.  Per capita versus US it looks like it did sell better here, true. More price sensitive market. There are no records I can find of the Journey being made in Windsor or Brampton plants, the two FCA/Stellantis facilities here.

Here’s a quick list I got so far.

hemi 5.7 out of a Dodge Charger with awd system

complete wiring harness for the charger

Charger unlocked flashed ecu and tune

custom made driveshaft and cv axles

    charger rear end

Airbag system so the suspension can hold the added weight and be able to be lowered for track use

much much wider tires and rims

fuel lines and pump from charger

    brembo brakes

    borla header back

I have access to cutter torches hoists and a bunch of insane mechanics so this might not be a problem. I know I missing many more thing but I’ll go more into detail as I go along with the project

Not sure just what all is done for your MOT service, but this is a timing belt (not chain) motor. At 11 years old now, I would investigate the replacement requirements (Kms/years). IF belt were to jump teeth or break, it would do major internal damage.

This may not apply to you directly, BUT also a good way for an emergency delivery of some of that GOOD Canadian beer that we can't get in the States due to the higher alcohol content.
I was deployed to CFB Bagotville for "cold weather operations training" USMC air wing back in '79. And man was it COLD and REAL SNOW amounts!  Our CFB host squadron people were the BEST and taught us "gyrenes" how to really enjoy the liberty time!   And I thought that Buffalo NY got cold and snow.........

its a method of communication for us canadians here when the igloo walls are too thick for our landlines. in which case we ask each other for our bbm pin so we can send help for more maple syrup when needed by the canadian armed forces

Nope, that's a proper alternator output.   Best wat to load test is at "normal" state, NOT fully charged and the test.

i would try an AGM battery if thats the case. they should be preforming better in cold with better CCAs too. havent done it myself but if you are buying a new battery again (current batteries not under warranty) thats maybe where i would start if you feel confident on your diagnosis (seems about right to me). with the ON cold snap (especially down here in SW-ON) ive already had to help a random fellow 2.4 journey owner with bumping their car this winter.

UPDATE:  So, there are 3 replaceable bulbs in the back of the HVAC control.  2 number 74/37 bulbs/sockets and a third very tiny one.  I used these LED’s as the number 37 replacements from Amazon:
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07S7D16CH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Used the included sockets (original bulbs are soldered in to their sockets) had to turn one 180 degrees (LED’s are +/- sensitive) but work great.  Dim with the dash lights as well.

Now all I have to do is figure out what size the 3rd bulb is.  I’m thinking a NEO T3  but am waiting for an answer to an email to be sure.  Will let you know....

When it warms up a bit get the Journey up on stands and wipe c/v joint boots with a clean rag.

Look for sign of a grease leak coming from boot. That will be the bad joint if there is one. Will turn to a knock sound when the wear gets worse. One side has a c/v shaft and an intermediate shaft that can generate noise from wear.

    Scroller61,

As 2late4u said once the actuator is exposed, I used a 1/4" philips bit on a small ratchet and a stubby philips screw driver on the two screws. Easy to change but, a PITA to get in there, plan on a sore neck and back from laying on the floor bent like a pretzel looking up. Another forum member indicating after changing the actuator will self adjust itself after a few cycles.

Start with the easy stuff. If you are getting voltage all over the place i am going to guess bad connection. Get into that wheel well, disconnect everything and inspect the positive/negative cables, connectors, and posts. clean it up real nice and connect up everything nice and snug, including the strap that holds the battery down.
