  1. Take a look at the rear wiring that goes to the door, there are probably some bad wires that need repairing, I believe that should fix your issue. Kindly let us know if this helps.
  2. sounds like this, last post. ive yet to do it myself but im going to change my heater core before winter comes this year.
  3. different strokes for different folks
  4. Is your bluetooth working? if not.. pull fuse f131 (bluetooth module) i believe. known to draw a current
  5. dunno if it shows here, but this guy does great vids. theres 2 parts FYI
  6. I've yet to do this... its sitting on my list of things ready to go but I just want to chime in here.. if you plan on flushing tranny fluid over time, I would suggest getting a new tranny pan the first time you do it. an aftermarket tranny pan will give you a drain bolt so you can just do it like a regular oil change, then top off from the fill on the top side of the engine...dont forget to get a gasket (or gasket maker like above). also good info in here knowing 5L is changed everytime you do this.. looks like i need to buy another bottle of atf. cheers all
  7. just picked up the new summer steed. nice to get back out on 2 wheels this season. 2008 triumph sprint 1050 st
  8. check your heatshield. could be loose and its moving around
  9. its a method of communication for us canadians here when the igloo walls are too thick for our landlines. in which case we ask each other for our bbm pin so we can send help for more maple syrup when needed by the canadian armed forces
  10. i would try an AGM battery if thats the case. they should be preforming better in cold with better CCAs too. havent done it myself but if you are buying a new battery again (current batteries not under warranty) thats maybe where i would start if you feel confident on your diagnosis (seems about right to me). with the ON cold snap (especially down here in SW-ON) ive already had to help a random fellow 2.4 journey owner with bumping their car this winter.
  11. Start with the easy stuff. If you are getting voltage all over the place i am going to guess bad connection. Get into that wheel well, disconnect everything and inspect the positive/negative cables, connectors, and posts. clean it up real nice and connect up everything nice and snug, including the strap that holds the battery down.
  12. Hi folks, Been creeping in the background for a while but decided to look for the wisdom of you fine folks. Just wondering for the DIYers out there what obd2 scanner you are using or would recommend for our Journey? I also have a Volvo in the stable as well and so I am looking for some more uncommon sensor reading/calibration such as steering angle sensors (in the steering wheel), live data reads, etc. Currently leaning towards the launch products, either a v2+ or v3. Thanks in advance
  13. give all the wheel speed sensors a nice clean, reset all codes. maybe something easy and simple like that would help.
  14. adding to what humansoul got from the dealerships: not sure if you are in SW ON dealing with a specific dealership group... but when i asked this i got a similar answer. needless to say as the wise john horace says.. just walk away from that dealership. you shouldnt have to teach them maintenance schedules on their own vehicles. For context: i have done the rtu at the dealership but not the ptu.. no issues so far @ 250ks, but i plan to tackle this myself using this thread and my VAG friend mechanic. seems easy enough and doing this "mod" only makes it easier going down the road to the point where i might add it to my yearly or every other year maintenance schedule.
  15. want to move up to a halfton diesel truck. 1500 ecodiesel in a specific white with gold/yellow trim and the nice (light) brown interior (i think its the laramie package). other than that ill slug it with the journey and pentastar for quite some time.
  16. check out autoshack.ca cheap parts but a new one is always better than what you have. they sell them in parts (front or rear) if i recall correctly. might have to change more often but depends on how long you plan on keeping the car, how hard you drive it, etc etc. I have bought cheap bearings as well, haven't had any real issues since.
  17. *update, the rims i was looking at was from a 2014 and i have a 2012 r/t i currently have these rims: https://www.ebay.com/itm/19-INCH-DODGE-JOURNEY-RT-SILVER-WHEELS-RIMS-FACTORY-OEM-SET-4-2422-GENUINE-/282700804541 i would like to buy these rims for winters: https://www.tirehaus.ca/dodge-journey-19-inch-chrome-rims/ I dont see why they should be an issue? let me know thanks
  18. what about the older style 19 inch rims from an earlier journey? are there any differences between like a 2009/2010 DJ 19 inch rims (the older style, looks bulkier chrome rims?) weighing my different options because i found some nice 19inch xice2 tires for sale. Thanks!
  19. does this mean if i have an 12 r/t that uses 19 inch rims, that i cannot use 17 inch OEM rims to use for the winter? Thanks!
  20. Thanks for your reply. My mechanic mentioned that the coolant mixed with engine oil and so the engine is kaput. In light of this, what parts alongside the engine should I replace? I will make sure the rad is fine and fans are working, but beyond that what else?
  21. Hi need to replace my suspension all around on the DJ. I have a few questions. Does AWD matter for suspension? And are there any brands you’d recommend?
  22. hi I need to replace my engine in the DJ because the GF overheated it and coolant went into the block. im looking around for engines, can i get any 3.6 pentastar from 2011-2013 or does it have to be the AWD variant? i am seeing a lot of 3.6 caravan engines but a lot of them say FWD, wondering if its the same? can anyone also tell me what year engine i should be looking for? based on my research, my engine failed at the cylinder head like many in my year did. will a 2013 engine cure that? what parts of my cooling system should i replace? rad hoses/fan/pump and thermostat? thanks!
