yes journeys do have their problems same as all vehicle do, just remember this is the last yr for this model as well, that said if you take care of one and do your maintenance they are great value for the money, their are always lemons as well with any vehicle that is out there, i had a 2011 put 70 k on it and then liked it so much traded it for my 2014 106 k on this one yes i have had 3 things go wrong withe it, a oil pressure sending switch and a wheel speed senor and also just had the rear camera replaced. also i have the 3.6 eng in both so cant speak for the 2.4 engine power i would recommend one to any one wanting a bigger size vehicle that can carry 6 people with luggage for a great price, but you can always pay an extra 20 grand and buy yourself an Toyota Subaru or Honda one of the other high price SUV and also pay the higher price on repairs and maintenance that comes with them..good luck

You don't mention doing anything, or what you have already done - other than the reader. So when you get it started, head to a trusted shop or auto supply shop and have them do a full battery test. If your battery is weak your DJ will have a hard time starting and throw out false codes (sometimes). That's the most basic thing you should do that should not cost you anything, but will probably lead you in the right direction.

Armando G reacted to 2late4u in front end clicks when turn and accelerate
Ohare is on to it,probally your axle cv joints ,you tube will provide you example of how they sound when you are turning, i believe if you are turning right in a sharp turn and hear clicking then its your left one. not hard to do but usually requires a air wrench and a few odd size sockets and a torque wrench ,pry bar...OEM parts are more expensive but they are better quality, most part store cv joints have smaller ribbed rubber boots which can tear or rot out faster when the journey is turning in a tight circle...as the old saying goes you get what you pay for,,,,good luck also only do one side at a time do not do both side together as pulling both sides out of the trans at the same time will cause a lot of problems

AWD or FWD? Could be any number of things. CV joints, axles, wheel bearings. Stay tuned, I’m sure someone with more knowledge and better answers will chime in...

Well, my journey with my Journey 'payments' comes to an end. Today I made my final payment on my DJ, and it felt great. From not knowing these vehicles whatsoever, to spotting one while shopping for a car 5 years ago, it's been a great decision overall. We're just a touch over 70k and the DJ has been great for the family. Moving away from a minivan and still having the third row option at this price point was a big reason I went with this car. Five years later the kids (4) are almost all driving their own cars and not joining us in our long trips as much. The last time I used that third row was over a year ago, but I still see all the kids in the rearview mirror every once in a while.
Anyway, other than a warranty trannie issue this thing has been great. Regular maintenance and tires have been the only expense and it is still running strong. I ponder getting another car (Jeep, Durango, or Colorado) every once in a while, but I still enjoy driving my DJ. I've enjoyed this forum and can't believe I've been on here for 5 years.
Here's to another 5 years - with no issues!!!

Armando G reacted to 2late4u in Dodge Journey 2012 Battery
hate to tell you but some journey owners have problems with their journey battery going dead, so many different reasons it is hard to tell you what to do ,first make sure your fob is more than 30 feet from the journey when not in use, have someone pull the bluetooth fuse in the fuse box located under the glove box, also have the alt checked to make sure it is putting out the correct voltage also see if the dealership will change the battery out even new ones can go bad or get weak, also if all this is done and still problem have a garage check for a low drain on the system while shut off, so many other things as well, one poster had same problem and he said it ended up being the brake light sensor going bad cruise and read thur the forum listed as Electrical, Battery & Charging good luck

Armando G reacted to 2late4u in new ram pickup
actually not me getting a new pick up but my son in, he law bought a 2021 ram 2500 Tradesman automatic 4 wheel drive with the turbo diesel, it listed 58 k but my employee price for him was 48 k and they gave him 42 k for his 2 yr old Chevy pick up that he bought new for 43 k, so sounds like he got a great deal, the only thing is DAM trucks and cars are getting so expensive it is hard to see how people are paying for them,,, LOL the most expensive vehicle i have ever bought was 22 k

I hear ya, our 2012 SXT has treated us well, wife is saying I should look at another vehicle now that we have 125,000 kms (78,00 miles) on her. Other than routine things like brakes, tires, plugs and trans flush the only other things changed were hub bearings, thermostat and heater core. Plenty of road trips to ball tournaments loaded with team gear over the years for sure, those scratches on the bumper plate always make me smile. ( always told the players lift the bags don't just pull LOL ). Our journey has treated us well, its a tough call put new tires on her or, trade her in in the next 3-4 months. Hope your car continues to treat you as well as mine did, thanks for reminding me Armando G.

Armando G reacted to 2late4u in Newbie with a dealership warranty question
look at the paperwork you rec on the warranty and at the end of all the listed coverage it should give you a phone # and the info you need to cancel it, and as well as stated above i hope you bought a mopar warranty and not a third party warranty as they have a lot of loopholes and make getting work done a lot harder from what i have read...good luck

Armando G got a reaction from 2late4u in Newbie with a dealership warranty question
If you have done your research and found a warranty satisfactory to you, canceling the dealer sold warranty should be as easy as a call to them requesting they email you the cancelation form. Email it back so you have proof when it was submitted (make sure it's within 30 days of purchase). Make sure it shows exactly how much they charged you for it and send a copy to the finance company (to reduce your loan). My exact steps when I bought my DJ and canceled the extended warranty.

okay ill play the devil's advocate on this subject,,,this a feel good article and ended with a great outcome , BUT what would they have done, if one of the stranded people suffered a severe reaction to the shots, as some have here at our local hospital,, as after you get the shot they have you wait at least 30 minutes before letting you go home,,, also i just filled out the paperwork for my wife's and mine to get the vaccine asking us and signing the paperwork listing our medical problems and also if allergic to different kinds of vaccines and meds,as well, since we are 67 yrs old with some medical problems so we are in the next group for the shots whenever that will be

hi my problem was that the temperature on the dashboard was -40 and the engine light came on
In the scanner I got the code p0073 what was the ambient air temperature sensor
I replaced it and the temperature was corrected and it only ran the car a few miles and the engine light went out

Armando G reacted to 2late4u in Check Engine Issue
well since the org poster never came back with an answer ( a 2 time poster) we will never know as suggested check your codes and also report back for others when you get it fixed,,,,most likely a thermostat problem or just extreme cold that you are experiencing, you could use a piece of cardboard to help from getting so much cold hitting the rad , nut i would just have the state changed out it that is the code
