ANY HAPPY JOURNEY OWNERS OUT THERE?

Does having an "11 mainstreet AND a '14 SXT (both 3.6 AWD) at the same time qualify as a YES?  IF SO, Then count me as EXTREMELY HAPPY!

Hit the famous milestone and had to make an attempt to get the famous 7's on the screen. Almost had the temp at 77, but ended up being one off.
I got stuck in some traffic right at ...75, so had to slow down a bit and then take off to hit the speed - sorry to the dude behind me (I guess all the folks behind me) ?
    Here's to another 77k ?

great that you got it fixed,as for the journey being sluggish you must have bought the 2.4 and not the 3.6 as it is quite fast

    Hello:

I just had my Journey serviced.
They told me that the pads are still ok, but the front rotors are almost done. Should replace them by the summer.
It has 121,000KM currently so they should last close to 80,000 miles. Factory brakes still on 4 wheels.

I'm at 80k on my 2015, with approximately 65-70% of brake life left. Shocks me every time I get a service and am told... but thankful as well. No squeaking or vibration. Keep thinking my pads are going to outlast my rotors.

@HeavyHaulSabre welcome (to the dark side apparently)... I've been pretty happy in there myself. If it's been maintained, you should be happy. I'm still really happy with mine - 6 years now. It does what it's supposed to and it does it well. Mine served it's time hauling around the six of us, and now that I'm mostly solo in mine, I enjoy zipping around in it.
    Congrats and enjoy.

After an exhaustive search, I finally purchased my Dodge Journey replacement Vehicle.

2019 CPO'd Buick Envision Essence, FWD, 2.5L n/a. Red ext. w/ beige leather int.; 49k Miles. $26,700 OTD

One of the main requirements for my wife was that the Dodge Journey's replacement needed to have comfortable seats comparable or better than the DJ. This buick does the trick.

This comes just in time; My second car (Chevy Volt) is leaking coolant from it's Inverter/Charger coolant loop (one of 4 independent coolant loops) and needs it's radiator swapped. It's an involved swap, but at least it's the easiest of the 4 radiators to swap.

Hello everyone!  New guy here, going tomorrow to pick up our new-to-us 2015 Dodge Journey Crossroad.  Our beloved 2008 Buick Enclave gave up the ghost over the weekend, and we needed a quick replacement with seating for at least 6.  When the Durango Citadel we were trying to buy got snatched out from under us, this Journey was the next best option.  It's got 80k miles, over 100,000 miles LESS than the Enclave it's replacing, so I'm hoping for a nice long life out of it.  I'll post a few pics if I can tomorrow when we get her home.  I'm hoping we love the Journey like we loved the Enclave.  My only concern is that it feels and sounds like a small vehicle on the road.  The old Buick was so smoooooth and dead quiet on the road.  I guess as long as the Old Lady is happy, I'm happy!

Today I hit another milestone. My girl and I hit the 80,000 mark while towing my new toy. I still love my choice with going with my DJ and she hasn't let me down yet. She's my daily driver, my family road trip car, and my utility vehicle when needed. I did have a P0128 code last week, but then it went away. Apparently that's a thermostat code that is sometimes tripped by cold weather(?). Either way, it's clear for a week now and running great. I hate to hear of all of the issues some people have with theirs, but I thank the moto Gods for getting one of the good ones. I fully maintain her meticulously and will probably do the 100k service a little sooner than recommended.
If I ever do decide to take on another car payment, I will have a hard time letting my DJ go.

Good luck to you Tim. Thanks for all of the input and knowledge and of course, glad you are OK after that incident. Hope you do come back with a pic of the replacement car. Sounds like the DJ turned out to be a decent investment for you, hope the next one works out just as well.

I watched someone do that to a car parked two spots over from me. So I pulled my phone out and video tape him pull out and leave. Left a note on the parked car with the license plate and my number in case he needed the video. He called me about a month later to thank me. Thought it was such BS that the guy could do that. Sorry man...

The rear hatch lock on my 2013 Dodge Journey Crew stopped working.  After reviewing online articles I decided to check wiring.  When I pulled the boot back from the wires running into the tailgate I discovered two broken wires and another almost broken.  I put butt splices on the broken wires, and all is bette r now.

Armando G reacted to DodgeaWrench in 2014 JD - Replace original brakes after 125K
Back in March, I never found anything definitely wrong with the rear brakes.  I did bleed the rears for grins, and on the one side in question, I did disassemble, and watched the piston move when the brake pedal was pushed.  It seems to have worked since.  No pulling to one side and no rust forming on the rotor from lack of pads not applying pressure.  Oh well.

Finally I got around to replacing the original fronts today, at 131,000 miles.  They STILL had at least another 30,000 mile left on them.  Crazy.  They are considerably larger pads than the rear.

As they had never been replaced, the front rotors did not want to come off without a fight.  Just penetrating oil and a hammer was not enough.    It really wasn't that bad, but I did have to borrow a puller from the local parts store.  After cranking tightly on the puller, then banging the poop out of the rotor from the back side, finally got it to pop.  The rest of the job was textbook.  Not that I was going to, but there was no reusing the original rotors after removal.

I went with OEM replacement pads and rotors all around.  Assuming I did the replacement correctly, I am not expecting to have to due another brake job for the life of the vehicle in my ownership.  Beside being long lasting pads, our driving miles have greatly reduce as no more out of state college trips (which is why we bought this car) and eventually covid.

Changed the oil and filter today too.

Nice to get these checked off before winter.

Looks like replacing the tires are starting to move up the list.  While doing the brakes I can see the tires are starting to wear thin.
Replaced the original tires at 58,000 (dont recall the make or model)
Got 73,000 miles on the ones on the car now (Firestone Destination LE2 225/65R).
I'll probably go with those Firestone's again if still available.  The tires have performed well and the local shop has given me good service and good pricing over the years.

So I understand this correctly, you can’t check the oil because the stick is broken (happened on my 09 as well) but you added oil….why?  Not to be mean, but it becoming apparent that either you are not very mechanically inclined or that you are not maintaining this car correctly, throwing parts at it, and asking why it won’t run. It may be cheaper to tow it to a repair facility and have them tell you what’s wrong.  If you can’t/don’t want to, then this is how I would proceed.

If I were you, I would do the following things before I went another step further, even if it means taking them out/off the car to do it:
1: Get the battery tested with an electronic battery tester, not the old carbon pile type.
2: Get the alternator tested and verify it’s the correct one.
3: Fix the dipstick. Too much oil is as bad as too little.  Sometimes you can grab the broken end with a pair of needle nose pliers, then just install a new one.

    once those are done

As member Oharefred posted and you now report of interior stuff now NOT working. The basic battery system needs first attention, RECHECK cable connections hopefully terminals of the battery cables were cleaned when battery was replaced before. but now a terminal clamp my have worked loose. YES your posted door latch and glove box problem will cause a "not in use" drain on the battery. BUT you should be able to drive and have the alternator charge enough to travel as you posted originally. Your couple week old battery may now be too drained to accept and hold ant jump or quick charge. Also the antitheft system can "kick in" when such things as the door latch or battery connections are not good.
My it is sounding like there is more going on than what was originally posted.....

Armando G reacted to 5rebel9 in Noise when a/c is turn on
It's from having that pass side grab handle installed ...  LOL
So "most of a/c components already replaced", Does that mean the compressor itself also? How long ago? the compressor on the 2.4 motors of all similar platform FCA vehicles have a history of weak a/c compressors, and from what I can determine from your posting leads me to think of a failing compressor. IF a/c work was recently done, I'd take it back to whom did the work .
