Anything other than Armor All should be fine. Meguiars and Mother’s are good products! I’ve been using them for years on many cars. Rainx makes a great glass cleaner and water repellent.

    Anyways Best of luck!

For real. That also grinds my gears. Along with no spare tires, people who don’t know how to change a spare tire, people who neglect maintenance. Lol I could go on as well

It really depends on which one you end up with. Journeys are pretty hit or miss. Some seem to have few issues while others may have a lot. It’s definitely worth paying for a car fax or checking the service history to see if it’s been a problem child. They’re typically consistent in the problem areas and most aren’t crazy stupid to be fixed. Definitely poke around the forum and see what others are saying.

Thank you for your answer, just test drove and liked? a 2019 Journey GT at La Fontaine Fenton, yikes that was a long drive there, but well worth it? Its missing a few toys from my present vehicle like a sunroof, power folding mirrors and remote liftgate release....But she was quick on US23 when I semi floored it. The brakes were kind of soft though. I'll look around to see if I can find any with the rear tailgate remote power don't care about sunroofs less chances of roof leak, power folding mirrors are cool but $500 to replace if broken. Went thru that already. Over all nice vehicle/van/crossover/suv or car whatever folks like to call her.

JhamB got a reaction from 2late4u in Newbie with a dealership warranty question
Typically this would be covered by any 30 day guarantee a dealer might have but yes if they’re trying to use the extended warranty then it would be 30 days after purchasing. A lifter I think would be covered under your 5yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty but it would depend on your in service date.

Hey Everyone! We’re rolling into our 8th month of Journey Ownership and here’s what we’ve done do far!

    Miles: 21,102

average MPG: 25.3 (I track for my work too)
low was 21.1 to 27.8 high.

services: 3 oil changes (I use full synthetic!) 1 set of Michelin defenders, 1 new strut (warranty), and a new air filter.

so far I’m pretty pleased with the Journey and it’s performance in general. We’re gearing up for a trip to Glacier National Park and I know our little trash wagon is up to the task!

Something to keep in mind my regular commute includes county roads and even on some work appointments I have to go down some pretty rough roads so a strut is not uncommon! ?

    Happy 4th everyone.

Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted anything here. I am still a very happy Journey owner. Washed and detailed it today and it's sitting in my driveway looking beautiful. Eight years and 140,000 miles, and the car has been superb. We had a major collision late in 2014 at 30K miles when a young driver blew a red light and destroyed the whole front end of the car. It was repaired properly and 110K miles later, the car has had very few issues. The Radio Frequency Hub began intermittently dropping phone connectivity and was replaced. I had a bad temperature door actuator for the rear heater, and the usual P0128 thermostat rationality that affects nearly every 3.6 ever built. The important thing is that the car has never once left my wife stranded anywhere, and it remains quiet, comfortable and economical. It could now use a set of shocks - the body motions are not as controlled as they used to be. I went 110K miles on the original rear brakes. Three years after the last payment, we have no intention to get rid of it anytime soon. She loves the car as do I. My kids are out of the house now but our yellow lab goes everywhere in it with us. If I had to replace it tomorrow, I'd be disappointed that I couldn't buy another new one.

Here's a shot in the driveway from two years ago with the coffin up top getting ready to help move my oldest son home from college.

With 186K MILES now on our 2011, the last "snafu" of the radio causing a short and keeping the dash lit up was annoying to find the cause, but EASY to fix(another radio that's plug and play). STILL really like the car for what it is, even though the gamble we took on buying it with a possible dying trans did bite us. I can't speak as nicely to MANY GM models as was posted prior here. ALL cars have their own "special quirks"!

guess its just the luck of the draw on getting a good one, I had a 2011 (with 70 k and  no problems with it) and loved it so much i traded it in on my 2014 and have 112 k on this one and have only had 3 small things go wrong with it and they were covered under my warranty

Well, my journey with my Journey 'payments' comes to an end. Today I made my final payment on my DJ, and it felt great. From not knowing these vehicles whatsoever, to spotting one while shopping for a car 5 years ago, it's been a great decision overall. We're just a touch over 70k and the DJ has been great for the family. Moving away from a minivan and still having the third row option at this price point was a big reason I went with this car. Five years later the kids (4) are almost all driving their own cars and not joining us in our long trips as much. The last time I used that third row was over a year ago, but I still see all the kids in the rearview mirror every once in a while.

Anyway, other than a warranty trannie issue this thing has been great. Regular maintenance and tires have been the only expense and it is still running strong. I ponder getting another car (Jeep, Durango, or Colorado) every once in a while, but I still enjoy driving my DJ. I've enjoyed this forum and can't believe I've been on here for 5 years.

Here's to another 5 years - with no issues!!!

Looks like purge shuttle valve for evap circuit. Shouldn’t have oil in it, just vacuum.

Unhook a hose or follow it to intake on engine should prove it out.

well guys, since i decided to keep my 19 inch blacktop rims instead of buying new rims with an offset to give me the wide stance i decided to go with a set of 1.5 inch wheel spacers, they should be in next week, they are hub centric, my wheels shouldnt stick out to far but just enough to see some treads, probably wont notice much for handling wise  although knowing itll help with going around corners a little better i got them mostly just for the look and when i buy new tires i wont have the issue of the 255 tire being so close to that plate where the spring is, not sure whats its called but its been mentioned buy a few guys on here of how close it is to that thingy haha   i bought them off truebilletwheeladapters.com   after converting it to canadian it was around 300 inclunding shipping  i talked with them over facebook and they didnt know im from canada and they said i was getting free shipping  but when i called to order they dont free ship to canada so buddy asked if i wanted to split the shipping cost with him  i figured why not it was a nice gesture    any ways haters gunna hate but i think its gunna look dope, i asked about wheel bearings and if i should expect issues from having these on and he said there should be no issues further down the road   ill be sure to post pictures once installed!

YES we are out there. My son and I are totally happy with our recently acquired 2011 AWD main street edition DJ! Did NOT finance purchase of $4 k, and YES did have to spend another $1.1 k for another transmission. BUT here in Western NY, this Maryland transplant DJ is all my son's needs and more. Underneath is like new yet and NO body rust (rare for a 10 yr old car here)! Plan on keeping this ride for a VERY LONG TIME.....
