  1. Typically this would be covered by any 30 day guarantee a dealer might have but yes if they’re trying to use the extended warranty then it would be 30 days after purchasing. A lifter I think would be covered under your 5yr/100,000 mile powertrain warranty but it would depend on your in service date.
  2. Welcome to the forum! It really depends on which one you end up with. Journeys are pretty hit or miss. Some seem to have few issues while others may have a lot. It’s definitely worth paying for a car fax or checking the service history to see if it’s been a problem child. They’re typically consistent in the problem areas and most aren’t crazy stupid to be fixed. Definitely poke around the forum and see what others are saying.
  3. Welcome! Yeah it’s hit or miss with problems I’m sure there are others who’ve experienced similar issues. but this is a good place to get info and share in the pain ?
  4. Hey Everyone! We’re rolling into our 8th month of Journey Ownership and here’s what we’ve done do far! Miles: 21,102 average MPG: 25.3 (I track for my work too) low was 21.1 to 27.8 high. services: 3 oil changes (I use full synthetic!) 1 set of Michelin defenders, 1 new strut (warranty), and a new air filter. so far I’m pretty pleased with the Journey and it’s performance in general. We’re gearing up for a trip to Glacier National Park and I know our little trash wagon is up to the task! Something to keep in mind my regular commute includes county roads and even on some work appointments I have to go down some pretty rough roads so a strut is not uncommon! ? Happy 4th everyone.
  5. Oh 100%. I liked the Nexens but even compared to them at new I think Michelin’s have improved its performance a bit
  6. So everyone I just had to buy my first set of tires for the Journey! The good old factory Nexens did survive 20,000 miles which isn’t bad for what I’ve experienced with tires. since I drive around 34,000 miles a year I decided to go with the Michelin Defender LTX. I have had good luck with Michelin’s in the past so thought why not give them a shot. Boy, what an upgrade! I won’t say it makes the a huge difference in handling and ride but it is noticeable! the handling definitely more responsive and it grips the road a lot better. Not saying it’ll solve all the Journeys problems but I definitely like it just a little more!
  7. You’re good! I 100% took it as a compliment.
  8. Pretty sure the Chevy Equinox still holds the worst car ever made title. I could tell you all stories on them! back to the Journey, I know we all have been here long enough to know they’re not perfect or necessarily super reliable but it’s unfortunately the norm with modern vehicles.
  9. Sounds like a Wednesday built Journey! ?. I will say I have had my fair share of psychotic electrical problems with newer cars. Some even under 3,000 miles! But so far the old trash wagon hasn’t done anything stupid so we’re good so far!
  10. I don’t ?. I just like their quick cleaners! I still use Mother’s and Black Magic a lot too
  11. I think it looks pretty freakin sweet!
  12. Currently at 16,000 miles and six months in and no issues so far. Though I know they will happen eventually! ?. I’m still happy with it of course I used to have two as rentals so I knew what I was getting into before I bought one. No weird crap yet but hey maybe I got a Wednesday built Journey??
  13. Typically they are customer pay after the 3/36,000 which is dumb but hey I guess they got their reasons. Some of them are considered flash updates and they will be covered regardless since they’re more like recalls in that aspect. I would say you ask your service advisor about it next time your at the dealership for a oil change (if you use one) or you could give them the vin and they could probably tell you. if you’re having the exact issue as the OP I would say it’s most likely a wheel speed sensor and a quick scan would tell you which one was not responding!
  14. Wheel speed sensor! Codes should point you to which one!
  15. Here’s a photo of all the products I mentioned. And the interior!
  16. Hey everyone! I thought I would share the products I use to keep the old trash wagon looking it’s best. I thought this might be helpful for anyone trying to keep their Journey looking good and keeping it easier to clean! let’s start with the outside, so I have a wash club membership at our local car wash so most of what I do is after I run it through the car wash but I typically to a rinse before I go in since I live on a dirt road (and I don’t want the dirt rubbed around on my paint!) so needless to say I wash the Journey once a week. after I have washed the Journey. I start with the Meguiar’s Quick Detail which helps remove anything left on the car after the wash and gets it ready for the next step! I use just a regular microfiber towel to apply this and it really gives it a pretty smooth feel just after this step. the next step is to apply the Meguiars Quick Wax. Since I have to park outside and I’m washing the car frequently I started doing this every wash just to restore the wax finish I keep washing off. It’s applied with a microfiber towel as well. At this point the Journey looks showroom ready and I feel like an idiot spending this much time keeping it clean some days??. then the glass! I use the Rainx cleaner inside and out on all the windows. It works great and it doesn’t take a lot of cleaner to clean them all. for the wheels I also use both of the products above since they’re just black painted wheels. I also use the all wheel cleaner as well before it goes through the wash. I usually just try to dry dust the dash with a microfiber towel but if I am wanting a little extra shine I use the Meguiars Supreme Shine. It gives it a more shiny appearance but doesn’t give it a waxy build up like Armor All does. What products do you all use on your Journey?
  17. It is unfortunately! My poor Journey is usually filthy! Lol
  18. Got the Journey all cleaned up for it’s 6 month ownership obligatory photo. so far so good. Happy Wednesday everyone.
  19. There are a ton available but they are not cheap radios considering all they have to do. Luckily 2011-2020 everything is the same so as long as the radio has the necessary hardware it should work. You’ll also need a dash kit which are available all over the internet.
  20. There are some pretty awesome head units out there for the Journey but they are not cheap! You might spend up to a grand in parts depending on which one you go with. I am definitely considering one once we are out of basic warranty!
