first off do you have the 8.4 screen or the small screen, that will determine which way to go

At the very least, learn to do brakes yourself.  There's no reason to touch the calipers unless they're leaking or fully seized.  A 4 corner pad and rotor replacement can be done for $200 USD on the 2011, I don't think it's much more for later versions with the bigger brakes, plus the cost of obtaining appropriate tools if you don't already have them (socket set, jack, stands, wheel chocks, torque wrench, caliper wind back set - combined, you're looking at anywhere from $100 plus renting/borrowing what you need just for that job, $250 if you buy everything, and as much as you want if you buy it from a truck).  Throw in an extra $10 for some sand paper (clean up the surface of the wheel hubs when you change rotors), anti-seize (makes removing the rotor the next time MUCH easier), and some brake grease (lubricate the slide pins - I've had friends with brake problems that were entirely due to the fact that the slide pins were bone dry), you could do the whole thing yourself in an afternoon for under $500 USD.  The next time you'd have to do it, it's only $200, and under $100 if you catch the pads before they wear out.  The way the older models (pre-2012) chew though brakes (single piston front caliper is the tell for the smaller brakes), you should learn to do it yourself.  There are plenty of threads on this topic on this board (and I think one or two where I've posted the torque specs for the associated bolts).

Agree with 2late4u. Most of my vehicles have had this problem in very cold weather. The Journey is actually not too bad but I always use the defrost vent / floor setting for just this reason. Anything else and the side windows will begin to fog around the edges. The problem is worse if your door and window seals have any air leaks. Clean and treat the seals as part of your normal vehicle maintenance.

    Preface:  I'm not a mechanic.
Use a volt meter to check the ground on your battery to ensure it's good.  Honestly, I'm not sure where the DJ battery is grounded, but any resistance in ground can cause some electrical issues.  Clean the terminals if they need it.  If all that stuff is good, the next cheap thing to do is replace the battery cables.
Is there any pattern or triggers that you can identify?

    Peace.

check to see if at the wiper motor you are getting juice to it when trying the different speeds, probally  your switch or the motor itself, if no voltage at the lower settings id say its your switch, if getting power on all settings then i would assume its the motor

Most definitely take it to a different dealer.

I recently posted to another thread about my experience between two dealers. In summary, the dealer I bought the vehicle from will never see my shadow in the door again. The dealer that I use now has impressed me more than once, even on the little things. There is no comparison.

What you are experiencing is NOT normal. The dealer that you are currently working with is NOT fixing the problem. Your vehicle is still under warranty and has a serious issue that CAN be fixed by a competent dealer. In my case, when I sought out the second dealer, I did not even mention the first one. I wanted to test the second dealer and the integrity of the first one. The second dealer passed.

Speculation on what the problem is is moot at this point. The possibilities range from the simple to the complex. It does not matter. It is a warranty issue. You paid for that warranty. It is time for a return on that investment. Keep corporate involved. Be polite but firm. Give the new dealer a chance. You know what the vehicle should do and what it should not.

    Good luck.

It's covered under warranty. The dealership has taken responsibility for fixing it if you bring to them, especially if there is an oil level problem. The warranty should also include a loaner.

do what you want, but as i said i would be at the dealership at 7:30 am tomorrow morning stating you just had warranty work done on the vehicle involving the oil pump  and you noticed it is now low on oil let them check it out tomorrow and then tell them you have to go on your trip and then do what they suggest and you will have it on paperwork what has happened. its that simple....

i wouldn't put ANY oil in it.i would take it back to them to verify that the oil is low just in case something else pops up with your journey they worked on it it should be right from the start

Summer Solstice got a reaction from mechanical-idiot in starting issues
My first guess would be a bad ground or a loose connection. The battery was just replaced but maybe the cable has come loose. There is also a known issue with a sensor that is part of the negative cable right at the battery. I am not familiar with that one but there is plenty of discussion on this forum about it. Alternately, I just had a issue with my key fobs not working and it was just the 2 year old batteries in them. Does not sound like the same problem you have.

Check your battery cables and make sure all of your connections are clean and tight.

    Good luck.

No one on this forum has given you this advice. This is the 3rd thread that you have posted too on the same subject and the answers have always been the same. If you are losing pressure, you have a leak. If you can't find it, you need a mechanic. If you have one that can't find it or is steering you wrong, you need a better, and more trusted, mechanic. Personally, if something as important as the breaking system on my vehicle was causing an unsafe condition, it would already be with a competent mechanic. In fact, been there, done that.

    LOL....What?

If you are getting air into the brake system, there is a leak somewhere. You need to fix that. Installing larger brakes (rotors/calipers/pads) won't fix a leak unless it is a caliper that is leaking. In that case, you can just fix the leaking caliper and not have to go to the expense of upgrading the brake size.

Whoever is giving you mechanical advice is trying to screw you.  RUN to a new, competent mechanic. The person you are going to is either a lying thief, thinks you are gullible, or has absolutely no clue about repairing cars.  My feeling is all 3!
