    Hmmm, I wonder if I can get Dodge to reimburse me for the transmission in my Chevy? Probably not as it did make it to 125,000 miles. Damn POS!
  2. Oil Pressure light flashes on at idle

    Than you for the update. Oil pressure sensors are the first suspect if everything else seems fine. Been there, done that on a chevy.
  3. Steering wheel not centered

    Given all of the work that you have done, why not get it aligned? It may drive straight but it could be out enough in multiple components that one offsets the other. With the possible increased tire wear and small reduction in gas mileage, plus the satisfaction of a job well done, are you really saving more than a couple of dollars? Finish the job and then enjoy the fruits of your labor.
  4. High idle + misfire + random codes

    ^^This I had a 2 year old battery fail with a dead cell. It would charge but would be dead the next day. It was under warranty so the dealer diagnosed it but the dash threw all kinds of warnings and lights. Have the battery and the alternator load checked. Check all of the wiring from the battery out. There have been some who had trouble with a sensor embedded in the negative terminal post clamp at the battery. I don't know anything about that one but something to look for. These vehicles are very subsectable to low or inconsistent voltage.

  6. Front end clunk, while braking

    Per your thread title, the noise only happens during braking and/or stopping? If it was suspension related, I would think it would also happen over bumps. Could it be a mount, such as motor or transmission? Either would shift position during braking. They should also shift during start but not necessarily. I am thinking something loose, even under the hood, that rocks forward on deceleration. Could be something tight but just out of position to the point that it catches and releases under deceleration. A slightly loose brake caliper, or one the is not seated square, would do it too. Never heard of that, but I suppose it could happen. For what it's worth, even though there have been many complaints, i do not have a problem with mine. It is very quiet except a barely perceptable rattle in the braking system itself, which does not concern me. To wit, it is not an inherent feature of all Journeys. Good luck and my condolences.
  7. Towing

    Use your rpm and temperature gauges as a guide to how hard you are working your vehicle. The transmission temperature gauge in the center readout will allow you to judge the load on your transmission. The rpm and engine coolant gauges will allow you to watch your engine load. It's a little more interactive than a vehicle designed for extensive towing but you will have real-time readout that is very useful for towing within what the Journey is designed for.

    Why would you expect that to be fantasy? You have a warranty, right? Sounds like you should talk to the dealer rather than making an assumption. Give them a chance to make it right first. I would also seek out corporate on this. While it may have been out of warranty in the beginning, some times they do stand behind it. Give them a chance to earn the reputation that they will have tomorrow.

    ^^ With the Journey in the driveway, I can operate the remote features just fine from a distance away in the house. The keyless entry, on the other hand, does not work unless the key is with me. I was curious one day and tried it.
  11. My 2016 had an annoying rattle, at 34000 miles, when going over bumps. The dealer changed the sway bar link 8000 miles ago. In and out in 1.5 hours. It has been quiet since.

Prices that you would expect from a dealer sourced service manual and scant details.   15. Most definitely take it to a different dealer. I recently posted to another thread about my experience between two dealers. In summary, the dealer I bought the vehicle from will never see my shadow in the door again. The dealer that I use now has impressed me more than once, even on the little things. There is no comparison. What you are experiencing is NOT normal. The dealer that you are currently working with is NOT fixing the problem. Your vehicle is still under warranty and has a serious issue that CAN be fixed by a competent dealer. In my case, when I sought out the second dealer, I did not even mention the first one. I wanted to test the second dealer and the integrity of the first one. The second dealer passed. Speculation on what the problem is is moot at this point. The possibilities range from the simple to the complex. It does not matter. It is a warranty issue. You paid for that warranty. It is time for a return on that investment. Keep corporate involved. Be polite but firm. Give the new dealer a chance. You know what the vehicle should do and what it should not. Good luck.
  16. Those five little push pins...

    In most applications the pin is two pieces. The center of the pin should lift out with the proper tool. Once the center piece is removed, the outer piece will just lift out. They are easy to break and it is always good to have a few extras on hand.
  17. P06DD and NOT the Oil Filter Assembly Housing

    It's covered under warranty. The dealership has taken responsibility for fixing it if you bring to them, especially if there is an oil level problem. The warranty should also include a loaner.

  19. starting issues

    My first guess would be a bad ground or a loose connection. The battery was just replaced but maybe the cable has come loose. There is also a known issue with a sensor that is part of the negative cable right at the battery. I am not familiar with that one but there is plenty of discussion on this forum about it. Alternately, I just had a issue with my key fobs not working and it was just the 2 year old batteries in them. Does not sound like the same problem you have. Check your battery cables and make sure all of your connections are clean and tight. Good luck.

    No one on this forum has given you this advice. This is the 3rd thread that you have posted too on the same subject and the answers have always been the same. If you are losing pressure, you have a leak. If you can't find it, you need a mechanic. If you have one that can't find it or is steering you wrong, you need a better, and more trusted, mechanic. Personally, if something as important as the breaking system on my vehicle was causing an unsafe condition, it would already be with a competent mechanic. In fact, been there, done that.

Be sure to check if the module is preprogrammed to your specific vehicle as it will need to be.
  23. Looking for a new journey. (Possibly)

    Sorry to hear of the loss of your vehicle but sounds like it did right by you and you walked away okay? Buying a used Journey, with a very specific list of wants, may be time-consuming. I bought a 2016 in late 2017 after shopping for over a month to find the best fit for me. I am glad that I waited to get what I wanted but it did cost. During the shopping, I rented a 2017 Crossroad and ultimately bought a 2016 R/T. I can say they are different to me in the ride and handling, as they should be. The Crossroad was very smooth, handled very well, and was comfortable with the cloth seats. The R/T is a bit stiffer on the bumps and the steering, still a smooth ride overall, and corners better due to the stiffer suspension. The seats are leather and that took some getting used too as they are harder, at least in the beginning, and slicker, as leather tends to be. After a year of driving, I am very settled into it but I was also happy with the Crossroad. The difference was fairly stark in the beginning as I would test one and then go back to the other. Drive them both, if you can. I can say that I drove samples of each that had terrible rides and were noisy. I suspect these examples were poorly cared for by the previous owner. The one I bought was a very low mileage former lease vehicle, not a rental. They are popular as rentals but I would not consider one. As for a sunroof, of all the ones I looked at, I never saw one in this area with a sunroof. With a bad experience with a sunroof in the past, I was not in the market anyway.

    Most states allow you to cancel a major purchase within a short period of time. If you are this unhappy, run, don't walk, and get your money back. You already have decided that the purchase was wrong for you. With a start like that, you will not be happy unless you cut now and move on.
  25. I replaced a battery due to a bad cell. The symptoms, with all of the electronics, were all over the map, with different warning lights and odd behavior. It was a learning experience. Rule out the battery and the alternator first. It does sound like a wiring issue. On an older car, I would be looking for a bad ground and/or connection.
