Trains123 reacted to webslave in Besides the DJ, what else sits in your garage ?
2013 DJ R/T, 2011 RAM 2500 HO CTD LongHorn pickup, 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, 1989 Limited Edition Custom Chrysler LeBaron turbo convertible and (it won't fit in the garage...) a 2014 Thor Tuscany 40RX motorhome with the 450 HP/1250 ft lb torque Cummins Turbo 8.9 litre.
Won't go into the tractors, ATVs, etc. Lots of "toys" and 106 acres to play with them on.

Trains123 reacted to redtomatoman in Dripping Exhaust
I started my DJ, pulled it out of the garage, and shut it off. A few minutes later, I noticed a small wet spot under the center of the vehicle. Looked like water dripping from the central exhaust pipe. Anyone else's DJ do this? I figure its better to drip rather than holding onto the moisture, but I've never noticed this previously. Maybe its because I ran it for such a short time and things were not warm. I'm not worried, just wondering. . . My drain holes at the back of the exhaust system drip with fair frequency as well.
Peace.

Mine does that too. Scared the $*&^#^%$# out of me one day because I thought it was antifreeze. Turned out to be just water from the HVAC system.

Trains123 reacted to Potlicquor in Seems a good ride...
... owned and driven (maybe not a whole lot) for a year and a half + now, nearly 10K miles and all seems well with the 2015 DJC V6. Initial problem with fueling up was corrected at dealership with a replacement fuel filler neck assembly, two FCA recalls completed (one pending) and a minor broken part by a service technician (dealership will replace) are the only issues thus far. I'm well aware that not all DJ owners are satisfied with theirs for various reasons and I hope they can get any and all problems and/ or issues resolved to their complete satisfaction, praise the Lord mine has been 'a good ride' !

Trains123 reacted to Journeyman425 in JOURNEY CREW OR SXT?
It's done a little differently here in the US. In 2013 the Crew model was positioned just above the SXT Plus. The US Crew added leather seats, shifter and wheel as standard, along with heated seats and steering wheel, 8.4 screen standard (nav optional) and on the exterior, chrome roof rails, door handles, grille and the Crew badge. This was the only model in 2013 that you could get chrome-clad 19" wheels also. The vehicle sales code is JCDM49.
HockeyPuck - thank you for clarifying. I ran the vehicle report using the VIN he listed, and it shows as an SXT model. Nowhere in the options and equipment list does it denote that it is a Crew model except for the Crew badge that's listed amongst the equipment. I would have gone ahead and told him that he did indeed have a SXT had you not clarified how they are equipped for the Canadian market. Good info!
Here's a shot that shows the Crew badge. This was day one, at my dealership, just before I drove it home.

Lemons can be had in any product, any brand...had two Fords (Mustang and Thunderbird) that were repurchased by Ford under the "Lemon" law. Also, in my lifetime, have thrown away / returned many products that were just plain made or produced wrong...ever buy a bad carton of milk? It happens and I don't hold it against any company; no amount of quality control (good or bad) will catch all "lemons".

Trains123 reacted to Jeremiah860 in shifting and surging issues
Yes any all-wheel-drive vehicle needs the same size tires the dealership is the one that messed up on the tire size put in the right size in the front and bigger ones in the back needless to say after a week and a half of being in a rental car I got my journey back an the vehicle drives like a brand-new vehicle it's got the proper size tires now with the new valve body with solenoid pack. I did feel the issue upon driving but I decided to take a gamble and because it still had factory one T plus the warranty from the dealer I bought it from I figured I wouldn't have to have to pay a thing out of my pocket. Which I didn't have to everything was warranty coverage the dealer express the gratitude and they offered to pay my first two monthly payments for the wrongdoing on the part all in all I believe I made out pretty good so as of now my journey is driving like it should be I don't even feel it shift and I love it

Trains123 reacted to newrollo in 2 years 25k miles 2014 fwd v-6.
38,000 miles on 2014 Crossroad. A lot of those miles are Detroit to Steamboat Springs Colorado. Heading west pulling a 1,700 lb 5x10 travel trailer. The Nebraska head/cross winds always put me at 14 mpg at 75-80 mph. the 3.6 never loses its power. It's a fwd and has studded snows for the winter. Pretty much a mountain goat in the Rockies until over 6-8 inches of unplowed snow then it makes a terrible snow plow.

Trains123 reacted to priell3 in First road trip and impressions
So I have had the Journey one day and did the first half of a 450 mile road trip.
It was mostly highway driving, nearly 4 hours, going from about 200' elevation to 2,000'. The 4 cylinder/6 speed had plenty of power. I was hauling a few hundred pounds of cargo and the car handled it with ease even when climbing mountains. No signs of struggle from the 2.4L. The transmission shifts are quiet, smooth and barely perceptible and power was delivered when needed.
The ride was quiet and comfortable and spending that much time on the road allowed me and the car to get acquainted.
Handling on twisting mountain roads very good, even at speeds of 50+ mph. EVIC was reporting around 28 mpg with the above stated load and my heavy foot. Cargo space with the rear seats folded down is cavernous. It swallowed up a 6' folding table easily.
Once evening fell, I found the headlights to be more than adequate and the high beams really cut through the total darkness.
Overall, I am quite impressed by the maiden "journey". I just have to load up a USB stick so I don't have to station surf.
This is not my first Dodge and is my 10th Mopar vehicle (5 Jeeps, 5 cars).

I would use the previous 120000 mile service intervals as a guide. In other words, pretend like you are at zero miles as far as the recommended services.

Trains123 reacted to cruisinbill in 2013 Journey R/T 24 month review
I have posted my impressions of my '13 Journey R/T on this forum previously, the last one a year ago.
For the period Oct/13-Sep/15, I have logged just under 14,000 kms for an average of 16.94 L/100 km (17 mpg [imperial gallon]). Most of the driving has been city at speeds from 30-100 km/h and a few trips of 200-450 km. The best fuel economy I achieved was 10 L/100 km at 100km/h average for a trip I took last month. The worst has been in our bitterly cold winter last year at over 20 L/100 km. Still not impressed.
I had no real issues with the Journey in the first year of ownership other than disappointing fuel economy. I tired to address this with the selling dealer but got nowhere. We are no longer customers of the selling dealer and have followed our sales rep to another dealership (not just for the fuel problem, but a whole host of customer relations issues).
In the last 12 months, I have had to replace the Uconnect system twice (under warranty); a major pain as the whole system has to be replaced and then completely reprogrammed, including waiting on hold with Sirius to get the new serial numbers registered. The first time it was a malfunctioning disc player and the second time the navigation system completely shut down. Fingers crossed, it has been working over the summer and fall.
I would add my concerns about the crappy Kuomo factory tires, the worst I have ever had on any vehicle. They just do not handle well in turns, well, they just do not handle well at all. I have just installed my Michelin Xice 3's for winter driving and what a difference. Smooth and quiet, even on our potholed and rolling streets.
We actually tried hauling 6 persons in this 7-seater (thankfully it was a relatively short trip). The only person who was comfortable in the rear was our 6-year-old granddaughter. We usually just leave these seats folded for the cargo room.
Overall, we are satisfied with the Journey and look forward to more road trips next year when my spouse retires.
