  1. We had a Town and Country minivan in our shop last week with the same complaint as yours. Light was off when I got it. We replaced the crankshaft position sensor after researching the problem and so far it has been fine.
  2. I rechecked the I rechecked your VIN today and code LMK is still not present for me to add...sorry.
  3. Hello and welcome! Try not to worry about the transmission - service it when you are supposed to and it will likely last as long as you own it.
  4. Oh yeah, that is sweet! Congrats and enjoy. Welcome to the forum; good people here!
  5. Sorry, I'm not a fan either. But I don't even have a front license plate on my DJ even though they are required in NY. Left it off my 300M, too - I just like the clean look of the front end without the plate.
  6. From the album: Journeyman's 2013 Copper Pearl Crew

Looking at the car under high pressure sodium parking lot lights - the color never looks the same any two times.
  7. I love a clean car! I'm convinced they run better when they're all cleaned up like new You should see what comes into my dealership. Beautiful, expensive vehicles that are just trashed. Dents and scratches all over them, paint that hasn't been washed in weeks or more, interiors full of dirt, sand, old food, clothing, garbage. It's so sad. I could never live that way. It's a no-brainer that your car will last longer when well-cared for. But there's something about driving a freshly cleaned, detailed car - it's like it's new all over again. I still feel that way about my beloved 300M after all these years and miles.
  8. Here's our current stable: Of course, DJ. 2013 Crew, currently with 55,000 miles. 2000 300M, my daily driver with 305,800 miles: 1999 300M - My son's car, with 140,000 miles: 1988 Mazda RX-7 GXL 5-Speed, 49,000 miles. We're the original owners: 1989 Concord LS-7 with 200 Merc:
  9. Upper strut bearings are a common source of front end creaks and squeaks over certain bumps. The rear end noise I'm not sure - really haven't had much issue there at all. Shouldn't be too hard to pinpoint by a competent tech.
  10. The DRL sales code has been removed. I will check again when you post your VIN. Last time it was taken down, the factory put it back up a few months later. No explanation given by Chrysler.
  11. Electric power steering is not used on the Journey. It is a hydraulic pump. The service manager may be confusing the system with that of the Cherokee. The 3.2 V6 Cherokee uses electric power steering. The Grand Cherokee 3.6 uses an electro-hydraulic system (electric pump which is not belt driven) .The Journey 3.6 uses a conventional belt driven pump. My engine makes a lower pitched moaning sound on cold starts. Does not have to be cold ambient temps, just a cold engine. This sound is common to the 3.6 and is more prevalent on transverse applications such as the Journey and the minivans. Applications where the engine is longitudinal make less noise for some reason. Not sure which accessory is responsible.
  12. A battery disconnect should be done at the negative battery post as opposed to the jump start post. I tried to reboot a radio in a Grand Cherokee at the jump start post and it didn't work. Unhooked it from the battery and it did the trick. There is still live power on the bus cable unless you disconnect from the battery. It's a pain in the butt on the Journey but it's the only sure way to kill the voltage completely.
  13. In the United States the warranty on the left cylinder head is 10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Are you sure it's out? It's no trouble for me to check.
  14. Which engine? If you have the 3.6 V6. the left cylinder head might require replacement. There is a warranty extension on the left cylinder head should it require replacement. I'll need the last eight digits of your VIN and the mileage/kilometers and I can check coverage for you.

    Back!

Yes, my 300M is plugged in as we speak. Lord knows why I didn't order the block heater on the Journey - must've had a brain fart but honestly we don't see temps like this very often.

    Back!

Welcome home. It's a balmy 9 degrees here now! And Watertown, NY recorded the lowest temp in the Lower 48 States today @ -37 degrees F.
  17. Very good question and one that has never been asked of me. So, I did some research on the Chrysler side and came up with nothing. I wrote to Service Technical Assisance Resources (STAR) and now await their response. May not be until Tuesday since Monday is a holiday.
  18. We've never done the swap at my shop, but the STAR case from Chrysler clearly states to reconfigure the vehicle after the code is added. Otherwise, the car does not know the feature is there. I know that when we added trailer tow wiring to my own Journey after I bought it, the trailer lights did not work until we added the sales code for trailer wiring and then reconfigured the car - then they worked.
  19. Hi - yes I'm still monitoring this thread. Sorry about the PM, I don't know why some people are not able to send them. I checked your VIN but neither code is currently available for me to add. Went through this once before late in 2014/early 2015 so stay tuned, I may be able to do it in the future if corporate puts the sales codes back.
  20. Regular rotation is very important to extending the life of most tires. Our Journey has the 19" Kumhos. They have been rotated every 10K miles. We have over 52,000 miles on the car now and I'm ready to replace them. They are not bald, but down to about 3/32" all the way around. I have another set at my shop ready to be installed.
  21. That's the easier part. The recall also involves removing the wiper cowl to gain access to the ABS module. The harness connector there has to be inspected and dielectric grease applied if there is no corrosion present at it.
