  1. Update...I ran a VON from my dealership on a Challenger Hellcat we have on order. That worked, but that car has been on order for several weeks. So, I then tried a VON on a Jeep ordered today. No results. I think your VON may not be in their system yet. I'll check again tomorrow and let you know when I see some results.
  2. Hi Ray - it was I who tracked your VIN and build/delivery process for you through DealerConnect on your current Crossroad. As I recall you are a retired Chrysler Engineer. There's a new tracking system in place which I haven't used yet. I tried running your VON but it did not return any results. That either means that it's not in their tracking system yet, or I simply don't know how to use it yet. Scenario number two is the most likely... I will try a couple of VONs from my own dealership and see if they work. If yes, then scenario number one begins to exhibit some modicum of validity. I'll keep you posted.
  3. I checked just this past Friday...still no sales code. I look about once a month. I will update you all if and when I have the ability to do this again.
  4. Not this time. Had to clay bar it last year after it came out of the bodyshop to remove some traces of overspray.
  5. ...and just for giggles I logged into DealerConnect just after my last post and rechecked Bob's VIN, but still no LMK code. I'll keep after it.
  6. Sorry for the late reply - was away for a few days with my family and I always unplug and fall off the grid when we go on vacation. Anyway, changing the Country Code in the vehicle's body controller enables the DRL on older Chrysler products. That ability basically disappeared somewhere around 2006-07 depending on the model and its wiring architecture. I can do that on my 2000 300M, but the Journey's architecture requires a sales code and vehicle reconfiguration to make it work.
  7. I feel compelled to comment since I do work for a dealer. Quite honestly I have never seen such a seemingly simple repair escalate into such a complex case. We do not do bodywork at my facility so I have no professional experience with it. With that being said, it seems to me that the prep process prior to painting the liftgate may have been inadequate. Most of my Journey was repainted except for the roof and liftgate. The color is Copper Pearl and there are no issues with the paint at all, a year and a half later. I suspect that the factory might agree and reject the claim for a new liftgate, and require that the bodyshop re-do the work as originally authorized. I'm sure this is not what you would like to hear, but with my overall experience with warranty claims, I suspect that this is the route that will be followed. So sorry for all the disappointments. It's very frustrating.
  8. No, you read them correctly. LMK disappeared, came back for a while, and then vanished again - all within the life of this thread. Currently it is MIA and no one at Chrysler has answers for me. I just have to monitor my side of it periodically and report back here if and when things change.
  9. There is a STAR case which deals with this issue. It involves replacing the Transmission Range Sensor (essentially the Neutral Safety Switch) and adding a redundant ground in the same circuit. We've done it a few times and it solves the problem.
  10. Hi Bob - Checked again tonight for sales code LMK for daytime running lights but it is still absent from my menu of available codes. However, I added the codes necessary to enable power to your trailer wiring. Return your Journey to your dealership and have them perform a Vehicle Restoration which will pick up the new codes and enable power to the wiring. I'll keep looking for you and the others here for LMK to return.
  11. Welcome and enjoy! Let's see it.
  12. Yes, there are issues with the oil psi switches on the 3.6. Sets code P0520 and the oil pressure often reads 100 PSI with the engine off. As of yet I have not heard from the factory of any rationale behind this. I assume there was a huge batch of defective ones produced as was suggested earlier by BramFrank. I believe that to be accurate since the problem really did not begin to show up until late 2014/early 2015. Common to all 3.6 applications, not just Journeys. Most of the ones we replace are on the 3.6 Grand Cherokees since that is our perennial best seller.
  13. I rented a Journey from Dollar in Florida several years ago - well before we had ours, and before they were updated in 2011. Enterprise has Journeys in NY but not sure about Florida.
  14. 1980 Toyota Corolla SR-5 Liftback - my first car: 1988 Mazda 323 GT Sedan - turbocharged, intercooled 5 speed, very rare - only 800 imported into the US. More fun to drive than nearly anything: 1982 Toyota Tercel, A $300 piece of crap that I bought to get me through after the Mazda was wrecked and had to wait for an eternity for the insurance lawsuit to settle. No photo exists of the car because to waste film on it would have been sacrilege. Fast forward a few years. Got married, along with my wife came this 1988 Mazda RX7 GXL 5-speed. We still have it. 49,000 mile survivor: She also had a 1992 VW Fox 4 door 5-speed. Good little car, great on fuel, so homely that again a photo would have been a waste of film. Absolutely no fun to drive except for the stick shift. I've almost forgotten that we owned it. 1982 Volvo 240 DL. Inherited it from my father-in-law when he passed. 45,000 miles on it when we got it in 1999: 2000 Chrysler 300M. Still the best damn car I've ever owned. Shot this pic a couple of weeks ago just after she hit 307,000 miles. It runs every bit as well as it looks and still has yet to ever have a ride on a flatbed: 1999 Chrysler 300M. Bought this car in 2008 after it came in to my shop on trade with the front bumper fascia hanging off. Sold the Volvo on Ebay and used the proceeds to fix it up. Took it off the road in 2013 when we bought the Journey, stored it for a couple of years, and gave it to my son in November when he got his license: 141,000 miles and runs almost as well as my 2000: And, of course, the reason we're here...
  15. From the album: Journeyman's 2013 Copper Pearl Crew

Rain ended early enough to get a much needed coat of wax to fend off all the pollen and tree fallout!
  16. Post the last eight digits of your VIN and the approximate mileage and I'll add the sales code for you that will enable the power to your trailer wiring. All you will have to do then is return to your dealer for a Vehicle Reconfiguration, or Restoration as it is also known. After the reconfiguration the lights should work.
  17. The sensors are omnidirectional. The system is engineered as such so the tires can be rotated without having to re-train the sensors to determine their position on the vehicle.
  18. I wonder if they were road testing it together. If it was nowhere on the premises then it is likely together and running. The service advisor you spoke with today likely has no idea if he is not the one who wrote up your repair order. That's another story altogether. I hope all turns out well. Please keep us posted!
  19. They should get it. Any tech who has worked on the 3.6 enough times in a job of this capacity has likely encountered similar issues and will diagnose it.
  20. No problem, I'm sorry that I can't help you...yet. I'm still on the hunt for this sales code to return so I can help people get them enabled. I hope it comes back as it did last year. Until then...
  21. Not yet. Code LMG enables the Auto Headlamp feature and it is still missing from the code choices menu. I'll keep a lookout.
  22. LVLG - I checked tonight and the sales code LMK is still missing from the sales codes menu. However, I checked yesterday for a customer of mine with a 2016 Ram 1500 who wants his DRL enabled and the factory added two new codes to enable DRL - one for HID projector headlamps and one for conventional quad lamps. These were not present as recently as one week ago. So, I'll check again as maybe they might become reinstated soon. Keep your fingers crossed. No one at FCA has been able to provide me with answers as to why these codes come and go.
