  1. Blackout, Don't feel silly about bringing your vehicle to your dealer, they understand that issues can be intermittent and will do everything they can to help. Try to keep a log of conditions and any factors that seem related to when the tick noise occurs. That way you can bring your DJ in when you have the best chance of duplicating the noise for the folks in the Service dept.
  2. Blackout, Hard to say what it could be without hearing the noise. Based on your description though, it could be related to the power steering system. I'd suggest getting over to your Dodge Service Facility for an inspection.
  3. surveillancejourney, Welcome to the forum! This is a great resource for all things Journey and there are many, many helpful members.
  4. tk-4, Welcome to the forum! Congrats on your DJ as well, I'm confident you'll like it. Steam cleaning works well, may have to do it a couple of times though to get all the smell out.
  5. Armendegga, It's important to keep in mind that the Uconnect systems are designed and tested with the current software and technology in terms of cell phones when the vehicle is built. Compatibility issues ordinarily come up when a new operating system is released on the phone end. Chrysler does however work diligently behind the scenes to come up with updates that can be applied in order to broaden capability as newer phones are released. Technology is certainly moving at a very quick pace these days to say the least!
  6. RaptorsFan, Which update did you have applied? Was there a description or title available? Some updates are designed to be make the Uconnect system run smoother and not necessarily add features.
  7. RaptorsFan, Great suggestion! Any Dodge dealer can do this as well however the option of doing it yourself helps save time with dealer visits etc. and may also be resolution jeffhoward001 is looking for.
  8. Sg885412, Welcome to the forum! I would recommend following through with your dealer visit, may not necessarily be the switch. Could be something simple, wouldn't want to see Customers performing repairs which may end up costing more than needed. Keep us posted if you can.
  9. DJCR, I agree, you get both the sporty feel when cruising around town and then the comfort and luxury when out on the open road on longer trips. Thanks for sharing your feedback. Keep us posted with any new stories or adventures with your DJ!
  10. brandier, Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you're having these issues... Now that the MILs are on all the time, have you had the opportunity to visit your dealer to have the vehicle scanned? Intermittent issues can be difficult to identify however it may be much easier now. Could be a bad sensor tripping the lights. Please keep us posted if you have a chance to get to your dealer for an inspection.
  11. Tropper, Thanks again for the update. Hopefully the condition continues to work itself out and is resolved soon.
  12. Tropper, Thanks for the update ! Sounds like things are certainly moving in the right direction. Did your dealer mention that there would be an adaptation period or anything of the sorts?
  13. linuxguru, Great information! Format is certainly something to be aware of when trying to play music through the system. There are so many different formats out now which can cause some compatibility issues.
  14. DJCR, Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new DJ !
  15. Tropper, Sorry to hear this issue has been going on for such a lengthy amount of time. It seems that your dealer has been trying to fix it by replacing parts and performing repairs. Has there been any comparisons to other DJs on the lot? I've never noticed this shudder myself, has anyone else noticed this??
  16. jojogg, I've identified two different part numbers which are for front rotors on a 2013 Dodge Journey. 68192969AA 04779712AA I would suggest speaking with the Part dept. at your local Dodge store though. They'll be sure to check your VIN and provide you with the most accurate info.
  17. Unclemarker, Based on your model year and amount of kilometers, your DJ likely falls within the parameters for the powertrain warranty (5 years/100,000kms) You mentioned another dealer confirming the noise would be corrected by replacing the engine. If this is noise is the byproduct of a defect, the P/T warranty would likely cover engine replacement. I'm leaning towards the fact that your dealer has confirmed the noise is a characteristic which explains why they aren't replacing the engine. In any event, I'm sorry to learn of your level of dissatisfaction with your DJ.
  18. Marius, In this case, I would recommend getting a second opinion if you are having difficulties with your dealer. If you are in Vancouver area, there are two other dealers to choose. The factory warranty doesn't cover tires and would have to be taken up with the tire manufacturer. Hopefully you can get this sorted out.
  19. xcaliber81, The mopar.ca website and the parts department at your local Dodge store would be good resources to check as well.
  20. Tropper, It's worth having a chat with the Used Car Manager from your local Dodge Dealer as they will likely have what you are looking for on the lot. They can also look around to other dealers and potentially bring a DJ in for you to look over as well. Happy hunting!
  21. citation, Welcome to the forum ! A lot of great members frequent this forum and everyone is friendly and helpful.
  22. Journey_SeXT, You are correct in saying that the system cannot monitor the type of oil or the condition. Essentially, the The PCM continually monitors numerous sensor inputs to determine the duty-cycles to which the engine is being subjected. A pre-programmed algorithm within the PCM then determines when to light up the indicator lamp. So it's a bit more complicated than one might think however regular oil changes even if every 5000 kms is advantageous.
  23. Tropper, This vehicle is very well equipped and is a dream to drive. The 3.6L engine is phenomenal all around and the AWD makes it ideal for all seasons in Canada. Sounds like the vehicle has extended warranty which only adds to the peace of mind you'll be getting with this reliable platform. I'd recommend this vehicle all day long, be sure to do a good walk around as with any used vehicle.
  24. GET CARTER, Sorry to hear your having this issue with your DJ. Is this an out of warranty situation? Can you post back with your current kilometers and which dealer you are working with?
