  1. getting mine done Wednesday, My power steering has been wining loud as F on cold startup when its -20 or whatever. hopefully it will fix that, i've been complaining to the dealer every year about it.
  2. I went back, they worked on the car for like another 2 hours. found out it was a resistor. they didn't charge me for anything. Part was 65$, about an hour of diag + the scan plus installation. At the end, if the fan and controller was still good, its costed me about 400 too much to fix it. i brought it up and of course his response was that the controller of the fan was really broken and resistor probably burnt all at the same time. can i prove this? no sure. live and learn. the good, fan and controller/relays, resistor is all new and its working. its the first time i drive a car outside of warranty and this is going to be its only chance lol
  3. any of you could tell me if the fan is 2 speed or 1 speed? at what coolant temps your fan is kicking in?
  4. thats what they changed, fan and control module. its going back in
  5. I noticed that my coolant was leaning a bit over the half mark and i never saw that before. i checked the temp using the dic and of course the coolant temp was going at around 110 (230) degree before the fan would kick on and bring back the temperature of coolant to at around 100, doing the same over and over. I got the car in a the dealership and had it diagnosed, they told me the fan would not run on low and the fan controller needed to be changed. 800$ later, its doing the same thing. only kicking on high at 110. Now, what else could cause this? relay? im not under warranty and i already dumped that money in and its not fixed.
  6. mine was doing the same thing, they did a firmware upgrade on the system and that fixed the issue. they used a CD with the firmware on it. provided by chrysler.
  7. I drove from new brunswick to ottawa yesterday (1150km). doing 110 kph - 130 kph trip and not babying it at al..., when trough some serious hill in matapedia valey and edmundston and got an average of 9.3 L / 100km. i was loaded with 3 ppl + lug. i love my journey.
  8. Anmyone had this issue? whenever i let it sit for a couple hours or so, cold start in the morning mostly, i get a louder noise that last for like 1-2 seconds and then fade away. only started doing that about a month ago. i have an appointment to the dealer next week but i was just wondering if anyone had that. only last for 1-2 second, engine sound change right after to settle to normal.
  9. I was wondering what can be powered the rear power outlet of out journey's. I am a photographer and i was planning on using my fog machine on location but my current power source for my strobes are not made to feed constant power. Is plugging a fog machine is too much ?
  10. i replaced my brakes in every corner myself at about 40 000km. the rear one were so bad that it was STUCK and not breaking at all. front where were fine but rotors where warped and it was vibrating. i could have it done at the dealer ship but here is no way i was letting dodge put the same crap on it again. i have never seen REAR brake rust and worn like this before the front brake of a car, EVER. it was dangerous to drive as it was only braking from the front. i had to use a sledge hammer to get them out. what a joke.
  11. power steering pump is going to be changed next week. when it does happen, turning the steering makes the noise change pitch.
  12. I have an appointment at my dealer next week to have this checked, at the same time they verify my transmission jerking problem (it jerk when i shift if from reverse to drive)
  13. I just had the serpentine belt changed on my G8 and it was squealing pretty bad for the last month or so. Im not sure but if its a belt squeal, its should be in the record Guinness for the craziest belt squeal on a car, ever hahah
  14. Am i the only one? its rather cold right now and my journey is making this crazy high pitch sound when i start in. Does it when cold only, after sitting there for a couple hours or so. I mean, cars make crazy sounds when its -35 outside but i never heard something like this before. it last like 2-3 second then slowly tone down to normal Anyone had this issue before and had it fixed? Thank you.
