  1. sexyTRboi, I'm also of the opinion the vibration is tire related. Please be very careful while driving in wet conditions if in fact the tires are worn to the extent you've described. The tire's ability to channel water out of the tread is greatly reduced so you'll have issues with handling and braking. Nothing new but just be cautious and leave space between you and other cars. Keep us posted about the vibration once the new rubber goes on.
  2. Michael Maringola, You're welcome, keep us posted on here if you can. We'll see what other suggestions we can make if there are more details from your dealer.
  3. oneframe, The brake inspection interval is every 20,000 kms as per the warranty booklet. A good dealer will recognize the importance of cleaning and lubricating these components, but all too ofter it gets overlooked. If you're handy, I recommend checking the linings at least every other oil change. In my experience, it's worth it to help extend the life of the brakes.
  4. whitesxt, Out of all the Journeys I've heard start up, I haven't observed a single one that didn't have a slight noise on start up in cold conditions. Now having said that, are you noticing this in other conditions such as warm weather or after having driven the vehicle? There aren't any common issues to speak of however it would be worth getting this to the attention of your dealer in the off chance there is a real condition present.
  5. doubleO7, Sorry to learn of these issues, I don't believe I was notified through that thread unfortunately. Having to replace that many radios is extremely excessive... Is the service dept. able to identify any hardware issues or does it seem software related?
  6. oneframe, Sorry to hear your DJ is leaking... I've always avoided high pressure car washes when I have my 300M which had a sun roof. Some washes apply so much direct pressure that it will actually move and fold the rubber seals and cause a leak. I hope that's not the case here however your dealer can identify why it's leaking, good to check the drain tubes as @bigtsr mentioned.
  7. sillywalk, There is a TSB for this concern however the Fuel Pump Module is replaced not the pump. If this did not resolve the concern, then they'll have run through the normal diagnostic procedure as something else is problematic.
  8. journeyfamily, Sorry to hear about these issues with your dealer. If the original owner of the vehicle had already purchased a Service Contract, there may be an issue here as you are able to have the coverage transferred within the 30 days at no charge if still within said warranty parameters you're looking to extend. I hope the 5/100 your dealer explained was the factory powertrain warranty and not an extension. Please do contact Customer Service, a representative will verify if any previous coverage was applied to the vehicle and also update your info. on file.
  9. bigtsr, Great suggestion, proper brake maintenance on the DJ is important. I always recommend a brake service every other oil change, or an inspection at the very least.
  10. There will likely be a charge associated with the flash update, I'm unsure if this will completely resolve the issues you're having but this would be a good start. Flash updates usually only take an hour so I wouldn't imagine the cost would be terribly high. I haven't located any other TSBs that may be useful, your dealer will certainly be able to figure out what's going on.
  11. zmttoxics, I know there can be some situations where the tow can be questionable however the main goal is to get the Customer and the vehicle taken care of safely. Always handy to keep the owner's manual in the glove box too, could help straighten things out on the spot. Cheers!
  12. rolly, Thank you for sharing. This is a great example of how following the maintenance schedules and being a responsible vehicle owner can be advantageous. I know most people don't read the warranty booklets but it really helps in understanding warranty parameters and policy. Chrysler Canada recognizes the importance Customer loyalty through good Customer Care and assistance when needed. Take care rolly!
  13. Darkpaw, Fortunately, this doesn't necessarily happen the way you've described warranties being "voided" but I'm glad you brought this up. Your dealer doesn't have the capacity/authority to place a restriction on the warranty. Voiding a warranty is usually only having to do with tampering with the vehicle (odometer) or importing to another market. The District Manager or Regional Rep. has the ability to put a restriction however this doesn't happen by simply asking questions or installing aftermarket components such as air filters etc. It is important to note that if you modify your vehicle and it causes components covered under warranty to fail, the repairs may be customer pay. Also abuse or neglecting maintenance on your vehicle can cause a warranty to be restricted. Moreover, warranty restrictions simply mean your dealer will have to discuss any repairs with the Regional Rep. before completing to determine the coverage. I can't speak for other manufacturers, either automotive related or other however the "Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act" wouldn't apply to all manufacturers in Canada. But I am glad you brought this point up as it allows for clarification and a more accurate explanation of how vehicle warranties apply for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram owners. Below I've attached a page from the warranty booklet which speaks a bit more in detail about warranty. Cheers !
  14. Armand Savet, This is normal operation and nothing to worry about. Some vehicles have hill assist so this doesn't happen, mostly on manual transmissions though. If you're on a big grade, be sure to use you brake and this won't be an issue.
  15. Blackout, I haven't heard to much about Motor City yet, but it looks like the overall experience there is improving under new ownership/management. Having that feeling of being treated with respect and integrity are the building blocks of a good Customer/Dealer relationship. Thanks for the recognition, Chrysler Canada as a whole puts the Customer first in an effort to offer the best in our products and the services that our Customers deserve.
  16. Micheal Maringola, Happy to hear you like it, the DJ is definitely gaining popularity. As you mentioned, it's a great combo of performance and practicality with the V6 and all the cargo space. Hopefully the weather turns around and you can take the family out camping soon.
  17. Journey_SeXt, You're welcome, I'm a firm believer in dissecting an issue and trying to find a credible solution rather than passing the buck so to speak. But there are times where a visit to the dealer is the best option, I like to try and give you guys something in hand before sending you over though. It can make those service visits that much easier!
  18. Blackout, No problem, keep us posted if you make it in and they find out what's happening. Do you have a particular dealer you visit? We are here in Windsor as well and are surrounded by a great group of dealers. Cheers!
  19. Camper, I found a TSB that may be related if you're also hearing a noise from the HVAC system as described by @Blackout. The door/cover for the cabin air filter may not be properly seated which will cause a whistle type noise. If your dealer finds a gap and it's not properly secured, then the door/cover will need to be replaced. Hope that helps, cheers!
  20. bigtsr, I've been able to identify multiple radio enhancements which may address the concern, certainly wouldn't hurt to check the appropriate fuse either. I'd recommend having the vehicle into a Dodge Service Facility if anyone is having radio related issues. The Dealer Network has been provided quite a few software updates for issues similar to this.
  21. Thanks for re-posting, the 8.4 will definitely kick things up a little interior wise. As far as the code/pin, any Dodge Service Facility can provide you the info needed. Other than that, how are you liking your DJ so far?
  22. squinn, As rolly mentioned, you can tow 1,000 lbs with the 2.4L engine in your Journey. Most of the carts I've seen don't seem that heavy but I suppose the weight climbs quickly when you stock it. There must be a model name or serial number you can check, with that info., a quick internet search should tell you it's weight. The DJ equipped with the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine isn't at the forefront of towing however short trips around the city should be fine so long as you comply with the towing capacity.
  23. rolly, Believe me, from the Corporate standpoint, Customer Service is #1 priority. Dealer staff has mandatory training courses to complete in order to better understand/provide a good service experience for all Customers. I've taken these courses myself and I can confirm that they provide the insight into developing the skills dealers need to work with Customers. Each dealer is a business on it's own and certain dealers have different ambitions and goals at a service/sales level etc. I've worked with hundreds of dealers to sort of conflicts and I am a firm believer that the Customer deserves fair and honest treatment, there's no gain for anyone involved otherwise.
  24. Michael Maringola, Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forum. I've identified a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) which may be related to the bluetooth issues you're experiencing. The TSB is 08-008-12, you can share this with your local Dodge Service Dept. and they'll be able to identify the application to your situation. Hope that helps, re-post with the results if you can.
  25. Brooke Robinson Baum, Welcome to the forum! You'll find this site is a great resource for everything DJ and not to mention the great members who are always here to help. As jkeaton mentioned, it's best to eliminate the easy things first before you start getting into towing etc. Did you buy your DJ new or used? If used, you never how often the lock or unlock button may have been pushed. Keep us posted if you can.
