I agree with 2late.  Just reuse the current part.  You know it fits.  You know how it goes back in.  It's just for protection,  right?  If that's the case,  repair and reuse.  Good luck.

Something like this looks good.  I think red or black on your white DJ would be a good accent.   I had thought about getting hood/roof/rear hatch stripes like the challenger or charger painted on my DJ, but decided against it.  Dunno.  In the end, I think just the nice factory paint job looks the best.  Your call.  Good luck.

IMO, yes.  Dodge should fix these latent cylinder head defects.  Certainly doesn't mean that they will.  A proper dealership diagnosis is the start to the process.

I would have the dealer check what Armando suggests.  There is a distinct possibility that you are making an issue where there isn't one.  All motors and systems are engineered differently.  Honestly, I have not paid attention to my RPMs when my AC is on.  They may go up too.   If the dealer says there is no issue, make sure they document everything and list all the things that they checked.  If there's an issue, they will fix it.  Drive your DJ, use your AC.  Its a great little vehicle.  Your wife may change her opinion about the DJ.   If your AC stops working in the future, you will have your documentation.

Welcome to the forum. Hope it is a help for your issues (and the wifey issue). Anyway, I dealt with the same type of A/C issue on another car of mine, but I believe the solution should be the same. Mine was the idle control valve, but there could be other causes. If it is idling fine when the A/C is off, there is probably directly related to the unit itself. Hopefully this helps you out (good luck)...
Common reasons for this to happen:
Carbon Buildup: A number of engine components are subject to carbon buildup over time, and this can place a significant load on the engine. When the additional load of your AC compressor is added, it causes the computer to miscalculate and increase idle speed too much. Common sources of carbon buildup include the IAC valve, the EGR valve, and the throttle body.
Low Refrigerant in the AC System: If your AC system is low on refrigerant, it will make the compressor cycle on more frequently, increasing the load on your engine.
Failing AC Compressor: If your AC compressor is beginning to fail, this can also add to the surging problem.
Bad Belt: One often overlooked cause of a car surging with the AC on is actually a worn compressor belt. If the belt is stretched or worn smooth, it can slip during operation. This places significant strain on the engine and the AC system. Replacing the belt often eliminates the surge, and ensures better AC operation.
Bad AC Cycling Switch: The AC cycling switch controls the compressor cycling pattern. Over time, it can go bad. When this happens, it will place a significant load on the engine and can lead to surging.
Overfilled AC System: While low refrigerant can cause problems with your AC and engine surging, an overfilled system can cause the same problem. Refrigerant must be “just right” or you will experience a number of different problems.

Listen to OhareFred.  The battery is the most likely culprit here.  Try jumping it.  If that doesn't work, you have eliminated the battery.  It may be something else, but eliminate the easy stuff first.  Good luck.

Something is likely intermittently wrong with at least one of the sensors.  You may have to replace all 4 to get rid of the message.  You could just live with the warning light if replacement is not an option.  I would wait at least a few days to see if the message clears before I did anything.

Not sure I understand where you are going with this. . .  My 2011 is a great vehicle too.  Just crossed over 75000 miles on the V-6.  Mine was manufactured in Mexico too.  By an American company utilizing American engineering, supplying a good number of American jobs, sold at American dealerships. . .  I could go on.  Many American companies do business abroad.  I'm no economist, so why the focus on the manufacturing part?

While I don't have this problem, I know my stereo will play until the driver's door is opened. In addition to the stereo, I would have the service folks look at the door. Maybe the door switch is defective. Does your dome lighting work when you open the door? Have you tried opening the passenger door after shutoff, what happens then? Good Luck. Keep up posted as to how this goes.

I have a 2011 DJ R/T.  It has been a great vehicle.  Had the cylinder 2 head issue.  Chrysler fixed it without issue in 2011.  My DJ still runs as smooth as the day I brought it home after 80k miles.  The 3.6 is a great engine.  The transmission does shudder occasionally, but that is a characteristic not a problem in my experience.  I replaced my brake rotors and pads, as warping rotors was a problem.  No problems with brakes or braking power with new rotors and pads.   That brake issue was corrected by Chrysler in the 2012.5 models.   I don't believe the DJ uconnect is plagued by  more electrical/tech issues than any other vehicle.  Vehicles have lots of tech nowadays.  There are some uconnect gremlins.  Mine have been very minor.  The rear suspension bushings on my DJ squeak occasionally.  The suspension works fine.  Some may say this is a problem.   Honestly, the only "problem" that I have currently is a rattle that I get at speed on the passenger side of the windshield.  Minor.  It pulls at my OCD strings, though.  I can't track it down.
I love the utility of the DJ without being a huge vehicle.  The floor storage bins are awesome, the cargo area is pretty large even with the third row up.  I must admit, my third row has never seen the light of day as I carry lots of gear.   I got 27.3 mpg on my most recent trip at approx 65 mph through the mountains of Colorado.   My DJ will usually get 22-26 mpg at 75-80 mph depending on the winds.  My DJ does not like headwinds.  I usually have bikes or boards on the roof which affects gas mileage.  The 3.6 has plenty of passing power.  The manual mode shifting makes downshifting for power easy.

I'm sure I forgot some stuff. . .   That's my honest opinion and experience.

Take it to a different dealer.  If it is the P0302 code, Chrysler has extended its engine warranty on the left side cylinder head to 10 years or 150,000 miles.  They know about this problem and they should fix it.  I had mine done at no cost.  I have not heard that there is a model year specification,  If another dealer does not fix it, call Chrysler.   The exact code will be important if you have to elevate to Chrysler.  Good luck.

I have used clay bar on previous vehicles but never my DJ.  I have just kept it waxed and clean and I haven't felt the need to clay bar.  I have used my clay bar on my DJ windshield though.  Clay bar then a good coat of wax on the windshield is pretty awesome for cleaning and making those sticky bugs easy to remove.

Cross bars  are a must, imo.  Get what you want, but the only thing I'll throw out there as a reminder is locks.  Think about the ability to lock your cargo for restaurants, hikes, motels, etc.  Yakima and Thule are great.  Probably compatible with factory cross bars.  Everything gets stolen nowadays.
