  1. Well, that looks pretty rough in high speed motion, but I'd bet it's not as challenging as you'd think. Just gotta take your time and make sure you don't have any left over bolts.
  2. Well buying at demo price should be close to resale of a used car really. Anything over 5k below retail would be about right in my book.
  3. Well my opinion is this. the Dodge Journey is a good economical SUV that provides lots of options, awd and 3rd row seating are your main points. But with that said, even with the larger size, its still kind of small but def the best price point for the options that are important to you. If you don't have a Dodge journey already, then let me tell you its a nice all around vehicle. With the v6, it's got plenty of power but a little thirsty in town. The Durango's I'd say are Dodges premier SUV and if size matters thats an excellent choice but it's going to cost you more. Having a little more upscale feel, the durango would meet your requirements and still for a decent price in the v6 version. The Tahoe is def. the biggest and doesn't come in a v6 version, but will offer you all the room you need along with extra cargo space the others you've pointed out won't have. Size wise, smallest to biggest would be the journey, pilot, durango, explorer, then tahoe. Although the honda is a good vehicle, it's probably going to cost the most simply because it's honda. As far as space, we have friends with one and I personally wouldn't buy it. Just not a fan of the SUV altogether has about the same cargo space as the Journey which price wise is alot less. The Explorer maybe a good option as well, lots of features, but that comes at a price too. I'd say its on par with the Tahoe. All of them would serve you, but If it was my money, and it needed to be economical, I'd do the Journey (and did), if money wasn't an object, I'd probably do the Durango over the explorer just because I'm not a big fan of Ford. Personal choice. And while the tahoe is nice and I am a chevy fan, gas mileage would be an issue, and the honda just isn't my cup of tea. You would have to drive them all so you make the best decision based on your needs and price. I wouldn't even talk price, I'd drive them first, then eliminate the ones you know you don't want, then look for the price you need. Good luck and report back what you purchase.
  4. I think it's a clip on dodge emblem to the grill but would have to look at it further too. So I'm not 100% sure.
  5. When it's talking, quickly turn up the volume on the radio. It will turn up the NAV volume and not the radio at that time.
  6. Take it to the dealership, thats what warranty is for. Maybe there's moisture in the handle or on the electrical wires in the door seal where it attaches to the body.
  7. 3 years, 36k bumper to bumper US warranty. And quite frankly, your making a mountain out of a mole hill. Something just needs greased. Nothing is "wrong" with your suspension. Some tech at Dodge didn't put enough grease on a bushing and it's making noise when it flexes. That doesn't mean the entire vehicle is junk just because you have a creaking noise. Take it to a competent mechanic or the dealership and allow them to grease the bushings and all will be good in the world again. ALL vehicles have issues at some point. It don't matter what vehicle you buy, this could happen to any of them. Maybe your being to gentle on the vehicle and you need to do a couple e-brake donuts in the parking lot somewhere. Drive it like you stole it or at least rented it.. haha
  8. I've never seen that. You would have gotten supplemental pages for your owners manual if that was the case in the mail. The light does work as long as nothing is wrong. I too was waiting.. and waiting for the light to come on. So I changed my oil at about 7,800 miles and not long after that, the light came on. So I resent and moved on. I do run full synthetic. If your worried, then change your oil when you feel comfortable, and ignore the light.
  9. Ok, 45 minute ride home last night, not 1 flicker. So I believe it's fixed.
  10. I had this update done to my 2016 Crossroads. I'll report back tonight if it worked.
  11. I just had this software update applied. I'll report back if there's any change tonight.
  12. Congrats on the new DJ and Welcome to the site!
  13. Warranty says your covered, so personally, I'd skip it. It's just a way for your dealership to generate more money for them. You know no matter how good your vehicle is, they'll find something.
  14. Big congrats on your new CrossRoad. Welcome to the site!

  16. Congrats on an awesome looking vehicle. I do love the crossroad package. It just enhances the overall look.
  17. Sorry but I don't entirely agree. They do signal others that your backing up, but without the light in reverse, how else would you see when it's dark. With that said, the brighter bulbs I put in mentioned above do add additional light over stock bulbs to see better on dark nights. No need for extra LED lights at this time for me. BTW, they're working awesome. I highly recommend them if your looking for additional light.
  18. Most likely something with the transmission and causing the vehicle to go into limp mode to protect the transmission from further damage.
  19. If the vehicle is new, I've always changed the oil between 500 miles and 1000 miles, then followed the oil life meter. In my mind, the oil they first fill is for the break-in period and like to run it for at last 500 miles then swap it out for full synthetic. There's alot of calculations that goes into the algorithm to determine when to change the oil. It has nothing to do with "oil condition". There's no test hardware, its all mathematical. There's no reason not to follow the oil life meter under normal driving conditions. I've followed this schedule for a long time and have never had an engine problem.
  20. Big congrats on the new DJ and Welcome to the site. The help these forums provide is awesome and why I've been using them for years with each new vehicle I've owned. They're a great place to get information and answers.
  21. Congrats on the new DJ and Welcome to the site. And they're not all as bad as you read. People come online to bitch, not praise mostly, so your going to read about more troubles. Take them with a grain of salt and move on. When/if issues arise, the good part is people have already been through it and can help.
  22. Very interesting... I too have this flicker while driving to/from work. I thought it was me, but now I know it's not. I'm scheduling mine to get it looked at. Maybe this TSB will apply to me and stop the madness.. haha
  23. I'm assuming your out of warranty? Sorry to hear your having troubles, but the dealers going to be one of the best places to figure out whats going on. Hopefully it's something stupid. It could be as simple as replacing the battery. I'm sure it's not old being a 2016 but I've seen newer batteries fail and with the newer cars, a bad battery does all kinds of crazy electrical stuff. Having the battery tested before you have it towed would be a good start. With that said, I've seen batteries test fine, but were still bad or just had a bad cell. I'd still start there. After that, I'd let the dealer figure it out.
  24. Congrats on a great looking DJ. I love the look of the Crossroads package. Welcome to the site!
  25. Well, what is the year and trim level of the Journey your looking at? That makes a different on what kind of answers you should/would get. Overall, I wouldn't recommend any other motor than the v6 version, and for me, AWD was a must since it's my winter car. I originally set out for just 2 rows of seating, but ended up getting the 3 rows and love the extra space. I've used that back row more than I thought I would. I would recommend making sure what ever you look at has the backup camera. It does help alot when backing up especially in parking lots. Fuel mileage is between 16-25mpg with the v6 version. Overall I really like the Journey. So far I've put about 15k mileage on our 2016 Crossroads and really enjoy driving it. My wife loves it too.
