  1. Not sure much is out there for the Journey that I've seen. You could get a new wheel/tire package with say 18's or 20's since they're more common.
  2. Yeah, to me, it looks like the clasp is closed, so pulling the lever and using a screw driver to open it back up should do the trick.
  3. They look really good. Congrats. How wide are the tires? At some point, I'm going with wider tires for my DJ. But to get the right look, the wheels will need replaced too.
  4. Not sure how you'd sync them on the bench. I'd think they'd have to be near the sensor reader. So maybe. If your current sensors are sync'd with the car now, i'd say it could be causing confusion with the sensor. So it's possible they need to be installed. Question though, did you order the exact same ones and do you know if their battery is new since they're "reconditioned"? They do have batteries and last about 5-7 years from new.
  5. Yes, fully aware of how to reset the oil life meter. I didn't buy the DJ new, so I wasn't aware of 2 year free oil changes. Not sure if that would still apply to the second owner. As far as when the oil lift meter goes off, its based on a rather large algorithm that calculates mileage, engine rpms, how long at all rpms, oil temps and i'm sure more. I tend to trust it, so when it tells me to change the oil, I usually do. With that said, no GM product ever checked the oils condition. There are no sensors to detect the quality of the oil itself. I've owned many GM trucks over the years and they use the same type of algorithm to calculate the "best" time to change the oil. With the DJ, i was around 6k mileage and saw no light, so I changed the oil and was thinking the oil life meter wasn't working or possibly didn't have one. Now that the light came on, I reset it and I'll change the oil on the next interval. I do run full synthetics, so there shouldn't be a problem.
  6. Congrats on the new DJ and Welcome to the site. We own a 2016 and really like it. No issues so far and we added the OEM camera for a reasonable cost at the dealership. Maybe worth looking into if your interested. Once you have a camera, it's hard to go without so we added it.
  7. Well, just as I said that, the light came on over this past weekend. Since I just changed the oil less than 1k mileage, I just reset it. So apparently it is working for me.
  8. The oil light has yet to come on in my 2016 DJ. I've got about 14k on it since I bought it and I changed it at around 6-7k mileage each time. I'm guessing it's not working or I don't have that feature. I've never had to reset it, so I don't know whats going on with it.
  9. My experience has been it's not worth the hassle or the cost. It does "even" out the tire pressure better than "air" but with that said, just keeping the air pressure about 2 psi higher than what the door says will work just fine. You won't see enough difference between the 2 to justify. And if your pressure is low, adding air defeats the purpose of going with the nitrogen, and going to a dealer to add a couple psi to one tire is just stupid. Unless someones offering it for free, it's just not worth the hassle.
  10. Congrats on the new journey and Welcome to the site.
  11. Have you thought about retro fitting a body lift? That will get you some added lift for bigger tires at least.
  12. Congrats on the new DJ and Welcome to the site!
  13. Congrats on the new DJ. They are sweet SUV's and very versatile. I too think I would pass on the slotted rotors, just not enough benefit but it's your money. I'd spend my first dollar on tinting the front 2 side windows but that me. Welcome to the site!
  14. Looks good to me, Congrats!
  15. New's to me. Thats sad, it's a terrible combination. The turbo lag is TERRILE on those little 2.0's
  16. I wouldn't even consider a 4cyl in my family of vehicles. They almost never have enough power. The 4 cyl equinox isn't turbo charged either but is also under powered for the vehicle. I had a 2010 3.0 v6 equinox and although a nice vehicle, I like the 3.6 v6 in the Journey.
  17. I'm pretty sure the dealer will have to provide the sales code and install that update. I did the camera install on my 2016 but I did go through the dealership for everything. It cost me right around $400 for all I believe. Works great and can't see having DJ without it. For me, it was worth just having the dealership do it. The installation isn't all that hard but from what I've seen, you've gotta take alot out to get the wires ran properly if they aren't there already. Then the sales code, it was just easier for me to let them deal with it incase there were any hickups.
  18. Welcome to the site from Pa and congrats on the DJ
  19. eh, I've had that happen before in my life time. I've always done my own oil changes and will continue to do so. I'm pretty sure nothing was hurt under the vehicle and the water is definitely from the AC condenser especially since you were using the AC. I'd just chock it up to, you got lucky it wasn't worse. I wont time had 1 slip out, and drove off the front of the other one. Luckily I have jacks to lift the vehicle up and back onto the ramp. Both times I had issues like that, no damage was done, just felt like a dumbass. This has been like twice in 30 years of changing my own oil. Just chock it up as what NOT to do next oil change.. haha
  20. Welcome to the site and Congrats on the new DJ. I have a 2016 Crossroad and still loving it 17k mileage!!
  21. Also food for thought, if you read the boards, you'll see alot of what seems like many issues for the DJ's. But in reality, people don't come to the boards to say "i didn't have any issues today". They come to these for help when they do have issues as well as options and opinions on upgrades. I've had mine for 8-months now, put on about 10k miles already and not a single issue. I really enjoy driving it and it does everything I need it to do. Congrats again!
  22. Congrats on the new Journey. I'm sure you'll love it and Welcome to the site.
  23. Lookin good. Nothing like a fresh coat of wax to make your SUV look good. Invest in the cali duster, it helps during pollen season if you haven't already.
