  1. Congrats on the new topper, I'm sure it will serve you well. Post back your impressions once you've fully utilized it. I've been considering one of those for vacations but only bought the collapsible bag tote for the top so far. I'd be interesting in hearing how the hard topper works out for you.
  2. Agreed on the point of running the cars on empty. I see that alot from people and don't understand why. The pump's cooling comes from being submerged and if it's not, they fail early. Sorry to hear about that. At least the dealership is providing some support.
  3. Looks good to me. When ever I do a brake job on one of the cars we have, they always get cleaned up and a quick touch up to paint the brackets black and calipers silver. Both high temp paint but in the end, they always look nice and new. Just the personal touch haha. They sell caliper kits at Advanced auto and Autozone as well as I'm sure other places. The kits work nice too.
  4. i don't think you'll have any trouble towing that. 19' isn't that long and the dry weight is within the towing capacity. The DJ should have plenty of power to spare too.
  5. I'd have to say it's due to the fact DJ's havent really seen a full update in quite a while. I think for the money, they're hard to beat quite frankly. Most recently I had an Equinox v6 AWD LT2, and the Journey is leaps and bounds ahead of that in almost every area. My wife and I are really happy with the Journey so far. The v6 doesn't quite get as good of mileage intown as the Equinox, but on the highway, the Journey does better so it's a little of a trade off. The Journey is far more exciting to drive (v6 form) than the Equinox. The Journey has more room for passengers and with the 3 row option, that isn't even a choice in the Equinox. I'm happy with my choice regardless what those consumer reports people say.
  6. CarID.com is a good website for wheel shopping. If it's listed for the journey, it fits.
  7. Although it doesn't get used alot, the 3rd row has really came in handy a few times for me since we purchased the Journey. Most days, the third seats are laying flat to provide a larger cargo area, but I really like having the 3rd row.
  8. Everything I've seen and read, the 255/50's will fit. They're snug but they work!
  9. Those look nice.. the bolt pattern is 5x127mm. Most wheel places will tell you what fits, so just confirm. It's not all about the bolt pattern either, offset plays a part of the deal too.
  10. Joe - I made out good. Very straight forward. The dealership did the install, added the sales code to the uconnect and it works flawless. I'm very glad I added it. I was kinda missing it.
  11. Congrats and Welcome to the site!
  12. In my area, a replacement key fob, key cut and programming from the dealership costs around $400.
  13. Can't say that's the norm but these seem to be a little thirsty in town but highway mileage should be better. I recently got a v6 crossroads and and I'm seeing 16-18 in town and I recently took a trip and got a solid 26mpg one way and 25 on the way back. I did 500 miles on a single tank so I was pretty pleased with that. I'd just make sure the motor is maintained properly so it returns the best possible mpg.
  14. Agreed, the intown mileage isn't stellar. The equinox I had prior was a v6 awd and it did a solid 18-19 mpg average and wasn't as good on trips as the Journey during my owner ship of it. It saw 23 highway. So.. Overall I'm really happy.
  15. Congrats on your new purchase. I recently acquired mine too and love it. I believe there is a path to upgrade the little screen for the 8.4" screen that isn't so hard. Do some searches here and I'm sure you'll find information regarding the topic. Welcome to the site!
  16. Exactly what I installed. Easy and took about 40 minutes to complete start to finish.
  17. Super simple. Disconnect the exhaust from the the hangers. Bolt Holes line tight up to the brackets on the hitch. If you can, use a wire to pull the bolts into the holes. The furthest back bolts should have a shim that guests inside the frame, then tighten all the bolts 100 lbs and your Golden. Reattach the exhaust, Your done. I just added one to mine couple weeks back.
