OhareFred got a reaction from larryl in Transmission shifts wierd
You would not believe how many people ask a million questions about repairs that would be covered under some warranty. When we are guessing, we ask about warranties.

sorry if we offended you as we dont know all what has been done or where it has been done, sounds like you need a different repair place this isn't fixable over the internet, yes Dodge dealership cost more but they give a better warranty and also they take better care of the problem, sorry you are finding this out the hard way, i hear jasper transmissions are one of the better repair shops , google them and look for one of their repair shops and they do offer longer warranties as well, good luck

This right here is the cause of 99% of the questions asked on forums and facebook groups...lmao. People who would rather someone else read it and do the work for them.

Uh...I read most of the manual. You'd be surprised what they put on there. Very informative and nice when you are sitting in the car waiting for the wife or kids.
Would avoid a lot of those "Where is the fuse box?" Or "What's this light mean?" type of questions.

OhareFred got a reaction from TD Charlie in Any happy Journey owners out there???
let me get this straight...you own a car that is at least 10 years old (regardless of when you bought it) and you list multiple wear and tear items, and your surprised? My 09, which I bought new in July 08, has had the entire front and rear suspension replaced, 3 sets of tires, about 5 sets of brakes and rotors, various engine components (some under warranty, some not) and it has 98,000 miles on it. It’s 12 years old, crap going to wear out, brake, go bad. It’s what old cars do.
UConnect sucks, so I yanked the factory radio and put in a Kenwood with Apple CarPlay.
If your that unhappy, get it running and dump it. Likely worth around 3-4 thousand dollars on a trade in. That’s what my 09 R/T is worth anyway....

This was a great option on the vehicle when the boys in the back started to act up. They sat there quietly after activating that option LOL As mentioned lower the rear windows and generally solves that problem.

OhareFred reacted to TD Charlie in 2012 power windows
I think I'm ready to close this case. Two replacement switches arrived today so naturally I tried the cheaper option first, which I will link below. The cheapo switch works just fine, and the clicks on all buttons feel correct. Oddly enough, the Dorman (double the price) has a less responsive mechanical clicky feel to it, which I dislike. The Dorman switch also has a different (smoother) black finish to it. All functions of the switch are working. Auto down, up, all four windows, all direction in both mirrors, door lock/unlock, and window lock outs. The only thing I noticed is that the replacement switch has a slightly brighter blue light on the buttons. It is VERY hardly noticable.
Do I think there are still pinched wires in the door jamb? Yes. I still think that's gonna bite me in the ass down the road. But for now, the issues are resolved, and it only took 30 bucks. Plus I got to learn a thing or two about the fuses and wiring for this particular function of the car.
As promised:

OhareFred got a reaction from jkeaton in dealership prices
I travel 30 mins to get to my dealer, Fields CDJR in Glenview,IL. They treat me like family, like I purchase a car from them every week! I didn’t even buy my DJ from them. Closest dealer is 5 mins away......

that’s the idea. Documentation for the next guy! Under the steering wheel might suck, we will see.
My master switch arrives Tuesday I think. I will report back hopefully by Tuesday night.

OhareFred reacted to probak118 in Wet drivers side carpet and full cargo box
I think 2Late4u is on the right track, door seal, rather than a plugged door drain, give the seal a good look over for cuts, pieces missing or is there a seam there where the two door seal ends come together that has come apart a little ? Have you looked if door hinge has moved a little bit due to loose bolts ? Is there a air whistle as you drive ? Sometimes all it takes is a little push on the top back corner of the door ( window frame ) corner to bend it just enough to get a seal again, body guys do this all the time but not in front of the owner LOL. Maybe stop at a local body shop, takes 30 seconds, a quick look would cost you a coffee at the most. Keep us posted.

OhareFred reacted to TD Charlie in 2012 power windows
Thanks. I'm guessing that's buried in this futuristic door panel with the regulator. If my two master switches don't resolve the issue, I'll rip the panel off and dig around. Always best to start with the cheapest and least resistance =]
But this all brings me back to a 1990 Cadillac I had. Plastic piece in the window track cracked and the guide popped out of the track. Motor was fine, but nothing held the window in the track. I got so used to popping that door panel off that if I went to a fast food drive through and the window fell to the floor, I could get out, remove the panel, pop the window back in, put the panel back on, and have the window functional again before I get my lunch.

Well, did you do a test for a parasitic draw? A known issue is the Bluetooth not shutting off and draining the battery...l

Have you checked your vin for recalls? There was one for the drivers door wire loom, one for the ignition win module/fobs, could also be the BCM. At 10/11 years electrical issues crop up and can be a nightmare trying to track them down....

That makes sense. Went to bleed it and subsequently broke the bleeder valve so part of it is out and part is in the thermostat. This day is going awesomely.
