jkeaton reacted to 2late4u in Day Time running lights
this is where you need to go to see if your journey drl are set to come on,since you are in Canada I assume it is the law there for all cars to have drl at all times, YOU may have a problem as to why they are not coming on, WHEN the journey is in a forward gear they
light up if your in PARK......also you don't give the year your journey was made as well

You are already there. You originally posted in the Forum Help and Suggestions section which is reserved for Q&A on how to use the forum, not specific technical questions.

jkeaton got a reaction from Jack Jamiel in When to do transmission maintenance on 41TE
You should reference your owners manual. It contains the manufacturer recommended maintenance intervals.

jkeaton reacted to John/Horace in Battery dead, smoke coming from alternator
Without using test equipment we would be guessing. If it was a remanufactured alternator 3-4 years ago, I would think it’s probably the cause. Charge up battery first and load test it. Then run car and see what alternator does. Measure voltage loaded and unloaded etc.
There is a huge fuse that protects electrical system from bad alternator doing any damage. Even batteries seem to last shorter than a few years ago. Lots of load with all the power options, most cars have 160 amp alternators now. Typical car in the 1980s was probably 80amps.

jkeaton reacted to Locosiete in 7 years without brake change
My 2013 has just over 80k and brakes look great. However the rotors are a another story. Slightly warped and grooved. Nothing to warrant a replacement but it's there and felt under heavy braking

I'm at 109k at the moment and still haven't had to touch them. The only real issue I've had is potholes knocking my alignment off.

Two to add:
One off-brand, our 'new to us' family car (AKA, my wife's car): 2019 Honda CR-V
2019 Ram Classic.
(Need to sell: the Grand Caravan and/or the Journey)
I also see that I failed to mention the 75 Dodge Dart slant-six I bought, and later gave to my oldest son. (Needs some repair work, and currently not tagged.)

jkeaton reacted to John/Horace in Hit a Big One
The last post has to be some kind of AI robot crap. It completely ignores the mention of $2k + expensive rattling top end engine problem. There is no testament to good maint and reliability bla bla bla. I’m sure owner is not happy at all at only 100k mikes for this type of expense.
To actually answer his question, which johanbrandon clearly didn’t. There are a few docuemented cases of this with the 3.6 engine, on this site, but it is not a commmon issue at all, especially at your low milage. I would try switching to a Mopar filter and new top grade oil immediately, see if sound changes. Maybe even high milage 5W30 oil considering your location. They don’t usually just start loud ticking. Top end wear slowly increases and sound level follows.

jkeaton reacted to Christy in Highest Mileage Journey... Who's in it for the long haul?
I currently have a little over 313,000 miles on my 2014 Journey... I will say that this has been a car that was well worth the purchase! We have of course had stuff go wrong and need to be fixed but nothing really major. My husband is a mechanic so he has always kept up the maintenance! Anytime we say how many miles are on it people are like wow!

looks like a cover for an air vent from the underside of your car ,crawl under where you found it and look around should be easy to find where it goes back also you could take it to your local dodge dealership and they would be able to tell you where it goes or any auto body shop should or could tell you as well if they want to help.please report back on what you find out I have never seen one on a dodge journey BUT pickup trucks usually have one located on the rear wall near the floor of the cabin to let air out of the truck cabins so the ac/heat work properly

jkeaton reacted to John/Horace in 2017 journey ...
It allows in outside air. When car is turned off it will try to cycle to open position, vent interior moisture. When it’s open you can see outside light coming in threw dash filter. Removing filter helps seeing if it’s stuck closed. People often poke it open to temporarily fix problem. Changing it is an awkward job even with glove box door dropped down.

jkeaton reacted to 2late4u in 2017 journey ...
yes new parts can be bad, return it to o'rileys and they should replace it for you,, from your statement was it more than 1 senor? are you sure you replaced the right one? no problem driving with those lights that are on you just wont have abs braking just regular style brakes and also NO cruise control...I haven't been driving with those lights on for about a yr/and half while waiting on the dealership to get me a new abs module that are on backorder everywhere no one has replacement module,,,also you could have a bad wheel bearing as well causing your problem with that sensor showing bad but could be the wheel bearing...good luck
