Never tried that , but I was able to set off car alarms with a uhf transceiver
I had installed in mobile , fun watching people charging out to see who was stealing their wheels.

Kinda wondered what set off those alarms at the exit doors of many retail stores. It turns out my Dodge Journey key fob does! So far, have triggered the exit alarm at Home Depot, Walmart, Sobeys, Visions Electronics, Best Buy. Not all the time but VERY frequently. Always at some stores. Did a test at one store with cooperative staff and proved it. Any one else have this happen?
Sure gets the security people excited at Walmart!

It's in Honolulu right beside the H1 freeway in the Salt Lake area. Noticed it on my first trip. Dragging hockey gear on Air Crapada is such a pain........

Finished raking the bloody leaves. 55 of those recycleble paper bags full. Started putting a good coat of Meguiar's on Big Red. Hood, roof, tailgate, and one side done. Finish today. Inside windows cleaned. Floor liners ready to go in for winter, and the very last thing to change is the tires. I wait till I'm in the mood in November to put on the Blizzaks. I see the weather gods predict a milder/dryer than normal winter for us Prairie folk. Figures. Have tickets for Honolulu in January. Weeks without hockey. How will I survive?

And that is ok. But do remember, winter tire rubber compounds have changed drastically in the last 20 years and you can't compare old snow tyres with the new stuff. The new compounds are amazing. Better living through chemistry!

100% Correct. An excellent explanation on the Tire Rack website about this. http://www.tirerack.com/winter/tech/techpage.jsp?techid=126

Why not just get the stock size? That's what I did.
Wider tires don't work as well in deep snow anyway - the weight of the vehicle is distributed over a larger contact patch - it does make a difference.

hockey_puck got a reaction from dhh3 in Opinions: Best Replacement Tire
Same situation here. I'm interested in a quiet smooth ride rather than cornering etc. Was reading the reviews for the Pirellis on Tire Rack and they got good reviews. If still around when I need to replace, will likely go with those

hockey_puck got a reaction from JoeyVegas in "Chrysler Pentastar V-6 to get Turbo's"!!!
The Pentastar V6 was one of the reasons I bought my Journey. There is no way in H.E. double hockey sticks I'd buy a turbo engine. I tend to keep my vehicles till the floor rusts out and after year 7 any turbo, even with the most care, is likely to have issues and you better get a Brinks truck of money, if it needs repair. I just have a natural aversion to anything that spins at around 100k RPM. Even European turbos with lots of miles tend to have issues. No thanks.

hockey_puck got a reaction from dhh3 in Exterior differences in years/models
Do note there are many differences in models destined for the Canadian market VS the US market. Example. Chrome door handles were only available on the R/T model in Canada. No others offered them, but there was an accessory kit from MOPAR that could upgrade any model. Another example is leather seats. Only available in the R/T in Canada, while were an option on Limited's in the US. AWD not available on the Limited in Canada. An option in America. Block heater, standard in Canada. Optional in the US. Even in northern states. Many differences.

hockey_puck got a reaction from dhh3 in Weathertech Floor Liners vs Dodge Journey Slush Mats!
I have them for the front only as well. Since I never have anyone in the back seat (no rugrats) I didn't bother. I did get the Mopar rear cargo mat and I like that a lot.
