hockey_puck Posted October 21, 2015 Report Share Posted October 21, 2015 Kinda wondered what set off those alarms at the exit doors of many retail stores. It turns out my Dodge Journey key fob does! So far, have triggered the exit alarm at Home Depot, Walmart, Sobeys, Visions Electronics, Best Buy. Not all the time but VERY frequently. Always at some stores. Did a test at one store with cooperative staff and proved it. Any one else have this happen? Sure gets the security people excited at Walmart! I have had access cards that do, however.By the way, in Canada (I can't speak for the US) you can safely ignore the store staff altogether, and if they touch you at all (as in try to restrain you) it is assault.I'm in the security business and these self important store detective types have no authority whatsoever.
