I'm missing mine already. Just traded it in with 52000 miles. I got a Grand Cherokee because I use it to tow almost 3500 lbs all over. My Journey was an excellent vehicle. I just couldn't watch me kill it using it like I did.

Welcome. I would clean the windshield. When cars are new, the dash plastic has some chemicals evaporate and it coats the glass with a white fog. Then I would replace the cabin filter just because. Congrats on your new ride!

Coming out of a '04 Cad SRX, I looked around at Ford, Kia, Honda and somehow found myself drawn to the Journey. After test drives I liked the way the Journey drove and most of all, I found more value for my dollar than the other choices.

Got a loaded one with the 3.6 V6 6spd trans.

So far it's too early to give a real review of my likes and dislikes. My driving is 40% city, 60% highway. At this point I'm glad to have a new car, as it cost me over $8000 in repairs bills the last 12 months on my SRX which I really loved.

The V6 has plenty of punch and I had to have the 8.4" Nav system. Plenty of storage as all seats lay flat on the passenger side and i will be able to get my photag equipment in with any problems, and... I like the under seat/floor storage options.
Time will tell... so far, so good.

    "Houston, we have a problem."

    Had your attention didn't I
Well here is where we are at with our 2015 Journey:
    Repairs: NONE
Fuel Economy: 21-23 City and 28 to 30 highway (dependent on road conditions and terrain)
    Tire wear: NORMAL
    Tire Rotations: 2
    Oil Change Intervals: 3000, 8000
    Oil Type: Pennzoil Synthetic
    Oil Filter: Mopar
    Driving Ratio: 40% city 60% highway/interstate
    Concerns or complaints: NONE
    Overall: 5 stars
They really did it right in my opinion with this vehicle. It does everything I need it to do, with no complaints or problems.
I am totally impressed with the 2.4L engines ability and fuel economy in a vehicle this size.
Only once did I wish for the power of the 3.6. On a two lane road with a short passing zone. The extra power would have
    been nice.
The Journey has had no squeaks, rattles or other obnoxious problems in fit or finish that I can find.
It doesn't get any better than this so far.

I might have some big news. I stopped by my local Autozone today to return my warranties wheel bearing. They were restocking the shelves in back because they now only carry calipers with the brackets mounted to them. That's huge news because you can now upgrade the front brakes without finding a junkyard for used ones, or paying an arm and a leg for ones from the dealer!

I just got my 2015 Crossroad about 3wks ago, noticed some wear on the front seats that looked like the leather was cracking. Well, took it back to the dealer, the sales person walked me over to service. They took pictures and said they would file a claim with Chrysler, it took about 2wks, but finally got a call back from the service advisor and she told me that Chrysler said it's normal wear and tear, she then responded with a picture of my odometer with only 400 miles on it and a picture of my 2005 Jeep Liberty with 125k miles on the factory leather and not one crack. She called me back today to let me know that they approved 2 replacement seats. If anyone has this issue, I'd suggest taking it back to the dealer.

Hey, came across this forum while in my search for a problem resolution yesterday. Liked what I saw, and although I found the answer to my problem, ( active head rest wiring ,) in a Nitro forum, decided this would be a good site to belong too! I have a 2012 Crew that I am extremely pleased with. This is my second Journey, my first being a 2009 bottom of the line, which, for what it was, was a very good machine, other than the short brake life. But the Crew is everything that first one wasn't! So, " Hi," to you all!
B.T.W. What I found for the wiring for the head rest is black goes to brown, red/white to blue.

My Autozone wheel bearing failed. It's under warranty still, so it will be free. Just curious what kind of luck others are having with their aftermarket bearings?

I printed out the TSB. I'll take it in to my dealer. I have not started mine for over a week. I was in the Hospital, and can not drive for another 5 days. So, I went out and started it. and it makes a sound like the power steering pump is going bad! It is definitely a rotational noise.

The car wouldn't run well at all if that much damage was done. You don't machine pistons btw. You replace them, and machine the cylinder bores in the block. Is it running on 5 cylinders?

Sounds a lot like what killed my LHS which also had a 3.5 V6.

If you don't have a blockage (a blockage wouldn't be likely to leak coolant) you might have a water pump issue (unless it is spilling out the gaskets, you shouldn't be losing coolant because of this either) or a cracked block, leaking hoses or gaskets.

You may have a blown head gasket and your coolant may be going out the exhaust or into your oil (I hope not - coolant kills bearings, rings and seals). Exhaust may also be displacing coolant from the head which would make coolant go out the overflow.

Check the oil color - if it is a cloudy/milky color you have your answer. Check the exhaust for condensed coolant, too. You can get both fluids checked for contaminants.

The Journey is a great vehicle to drive cross country, have gone from San Diego to Texas three times and from San Diego to Idaho about 4 times with no problems at all. will post some pics later on.

This may help someone so I'm just posting this here for future reference.
There are many others Chrysler Vehicles that have this problem; Caliber, Avenger, Patriot, etc.
After getting this code and doing my research I decided to tackle the problem myself. I picked up some rust remover spray as opposed to wd-40. I took off the intake manifold runner control valve to see that the springloaded solenoid gets stuck when you twist it. The actual manifold flaps itself are fine as I can twist them open and closed (about 30 degrees I can twist them). I removed the runner control valve and started spraying it inside to get the solenoid to move. Took about 1.5 hours as I let soak, resprayed, vaccumed it out and kept twisting until it was free to move. I put everything back together and put the key into the ignition and left it at 'on'. Pulled out my bluetooth obd reader and cleared the code. I did this on Dec 12 and so far no light even after the system was in testing mode and completed. Hopefully this will help someone out.

I've heard it said that you can ALWAYS pick out the ones with 4wd as they are the ones furthest from the road..
I too have never purchased snow tires. My FWD vehicles(#7 now) have always performed flawlessly in the snow, and I don't expect any less out of the DJ. It truly is the driver in a lot of cases IMHO. If one uses common sense, you normally won't have a problem.
We've had one rear wheel drive vehicle recently, a Dodge Charger, that was absolutely horrible on wet or snow covered road. A great car otherwise, but I don't think snow tires would have helped this one in the winter.
And we also have a Dodge Nitro 4WD that absolutely shines in deep snow.
@bramfrank I enjoyed the story about the 4wd getting stuck. I have a neighbor like that. He has a Nitro 4wd and got stuck in the snow next to his house. He said "I had to stop. My motor was starting to overheat" He did the same thing... put it in 4wd and floored it. By the time he was done, he had dug down and, since he melted the snow, when he stopped it froze again so he was now stuck on ice. I let him dig for 30 min and when he still couldn't get out, I put some kitty litter under his wheels and drove it out for him.

Bought in Sept 1014, my R/T now has 20,600 KM. Love my DJ, a pleasure to drive, but still getting used to its size and view for parking etc compared to my old Saturn. Power and reasonable fuel economy of the V6 as well as AWD last winter are the best. Very quiet ride, as compared to other test drives I took last Sept.
    Have had a few disappointing problems;
Right front wheel bearing had to be replaced this past spring
Navigation unit went down this summer, fixed by replacing the whole radio with a refurbished, not new, unit
Of course both issues fixed under warranty, hopefully not an indication of future problems.
Two trips with it from Ontario to PEI and back, great on the highway, plan to keep it for a long time (I am retiring in Jan/16 and there is no doubt this will be my last brand new car).

Soon after I purchased my DJ, I installed a set of Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus all season, with an 80,00 tread warranty. I had these on my Nitro - 0 issues in snow. With my FWD DJ, 0 issues in snow. This is the first non 4wd vehicle I have in over 20 years, but it just plowed right through the snow. I never touched the TC switch. Now winter #2 is upon me, and all we have gotten is rain, so far. I'm wearing my Packer shorts today, for good luck!

    Well....
I cant describe in glowing enough terms what this truck can do. Its like a tank, I dont know why. Its so soild on the road no matter what the conditions. The traction control is subtle and does what it should without inhibiting driving. I can also easily shut it off if I need to to get in a hilly driveway, etc as the button is right there on the centre console. I feel very safe with my family in this truck. We have put off the purchase of snow tires due to christmas, new baby etc and I worried endlessly about it. But Dodge comes through with a winner. I think I'll go hug my journey now.
I would love to hear how others find the truck...especially front wheel drive owners.
