  1. I have an engine light on for P0456. I scanned the computer and it says "Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (very small leak, check fuel cap, piping, etc.) I replaced the gas cap and cleared the code. After a few days of driving, the code came back again. Any similar issues for anyone on the forums?
  2. So I ended up just going through the relay route. 4 Pin Relay 30 - Trunk Cigarette Lighter with an inline fuse 86 - Reverse Light 87 - Backup Camera 85 - Ground Took off the entire trunk lining and routed the wiring through the firewall. Bought this: https://www.amazon.ca/Waterproof-4-3inch-Tft-lcd-Rearview-Assembly/dp/B0154GTSYI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503946415&sr=8-1&keywords=backup+camera+mirror Fits well. You lose out on auto dimming unfortunately.
  3. Not sure how to edit my original post but I'm not trying to add it into my existing uconnect system. I'm trying to add it to an aftermarket rear-view mirror camera. I think my only option is to add a relay and tap into the cigarette lighter socket in the trunk.
  4. Hi I have a 2011 Dodge Journey 3.6L. I tried installing a backup camera triggered to the reverse lights but it doesn't work. Checking the voltage at no load (Camera and Reverse light Disconnected) I get about ~12.3 V. However when adding the Camera only the voltage drops to ~11.8 V. Adding the reverse light back to the picture, voltage drops again. Reverse light still works but backup camera doesn't work. I use to have a 2009 Dodge Journey and I've installed a backup camera before and had no issues. I could add a relay and tap into some other power but I need to know what else I can tap into nearby. Not sure why I'm getting a low voltage reading, can anyone chime in?
  5. Hey, If I have 19" stock alloys and 19" steelies for the winters. Will the big brake kits clear the steelies? Also is upgrading the dust shield important as well?
  6. Did not see it posted it here so thought I'd post it. Hopefully not a against the rules. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_A9DDfGtA81R210dVpzMzI2RUk
  7. Hey guys, I've ordered a brake set for the front because its due for a change. However, I've been noticing after driving for some time and braking, the rear brakes make some crunching noises when you come to a stop. Could this be worn pads or worn rotors?
  8. Has anyone heard of or used MaxBrakes.com?
  9. Hey guys, Not sure when the previous owner changed the brakes but I'm pretty sure I have to change mine lol. Anyways I'm a light driver, probably hit about 10k km/year. Have a few options such as slotted+drilled or the regular: Typical Ones http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Front-and-Rear-Brake-Rotors-Ceramic-Pads-TOWN-COUNTRY-GRAND-CARAVAN-JOURNEY-/301294060205?fits=Year%3A2009%7CMake%3ADodge%7CModel%3AJourney&hash=item46268682ad:g:axQAAOSwL7VWsPCF&vxp=mtr Slotted + Drilled http://www.ebay.ca/itm/FTIS-2009-2010-2011-DODGE-JOURNEY-Drill-Slot-Brake-Rotors-CERAMIC-PADS-/272193374511?fits=Year%3A2009%7CMake%3ADodge%7CModel%3AJourney&hash=item3f5ffd492f:g:5XQAAOSwstxVgJuK&vxp=mtr $90 difference between each of them, is it worth it?
  10. Alright thanks I'll take a look
  11. My friend has one with over 300K km on it and I tried shifting between his Journey's gear and its normal. I find it odd... My transmission fluid looks good, doesnt smell burnt checked it when it was cold and hot to make sure. It drives good engages gears at the right rpm. Not sure whats with this.
  12. Hey I got a 09 Journey (2.4l 4cyl). The past few weeks I've been shifting between PRND and the shifter stick is sometimes rough to move. Sometimes its a little easier but overall its just rough to shift between gears. I've checked my transmission fluid and its good. Driving the car there is no problem, its just shifting between the gears. Done some googling but couldn't find anything. Anyone know anything about it? Will be checking it out with my mechanic soon but would want to see a general idea. I'm also hearing a buzzing noise when shifting to R and D which lasts for a second and goes away as well.
  13. This may help someone so I'm just posting this here for future reference. There are many others Chrysler Vehicles that have this problem; Caliber, Avenger, Patriot, etc. After getting this code and doing my research I decided to tackle the problem myself. I picked up some rust remover spray as opposed to wd-40. I took off the intake manifold runner control valve to see that the springloaded solenoid gets stuck when you twist it. The actual manifold flaps itself are fine as I can twist them open and closed (about 30 degrees I can twist them). I removed the runner control valve and started spraying it inside to get the solenoid to move. Took about 1.5 hours as I let soak, resprayed, vaccumed it out and kept twisting until it was free to move. I put everything back together and put the key into the ignition and left it at 'on'. Pulled out my bluetooth obd reader and cleared the code. I did this on Dec 12 and so far no light even after the system was in testing mode and completed. Hopefully this will help someone out.
