    Noemi Czar Gomez Conge,
The transmissions in the Journeys are solid, I haven't heard of any common problems.
Have you had a chance to get it to the dealer for testing?

    Hawaii,
The cold is the #1 killer of fuel mileage. That cold air your engine breathes in is much colder than the summer of course, which means the intake and combustion is different down to a molecular level. It's pretty interesting and enlightening if you ever felt like doing some research into it.
I like your handle, folks in Hawaii certainly don't have this problem lol. :shades:

I find between winter gas and winter tires, my milage goes up/down/whatever, it gets worse by a few liters/100km for my normal around town driving. Once I get on the highway and things stay warm for a while it gets closer to "normal".
As an aside, I noticed that in Canada we measure fuel over distance (Litres per kilometer) where as in the states it is distance over fuel (miles per gallon). It makes it very difficult to talk about milage in forums like this.
If my "milage" goes down I am happy (less liters to go 100km). I'm happy when I get under 10L/100km.
If I told an american I was getting a "milage" of 9.8 they would think I was driving a tank!

    ismir2k,
The extreme cold temperature in Quebec seem to be the cause here. Most cold weather noises are related to the thick oil in the cylinders which contributes to less effective lubrication until the engine warms and the oil thins out. I would suggest plugging your vehicle in so the block heater can be keep things warmer over night, even throughout the day if possible.
If this noise was present in all temperatures, I would suggest having your dealer look at it.

    radame,
If a defect has been identified, the basic warranty (3/60 in Canada - 3/36 in USA) will certainly be applied to either the repair or replacement of these components.
You mentioned KMS so I'd assume you're in Canada, which means your coverage is up to 60,000 kms not 40,000kms. I would bring this to the attention of management at the dealer before you pay.
Keep us posted if any additional assistance is required.

    Jkeaton,
We're all here because we're owners of DJs. This is a community to share feedback and stories and offer support, I guess some people don't see it that way and decide to persuade others from a GREAT automobile. Regrettably mass produced vehicles can have manufacturing defects, but is this so different from any other product? I will admit a DJ is more expensive than most consumer products but it's important to recognize the advantages of buying a NEW vehicle. The owner is in control of the maintenance and the factory warranty will take care of the possible surprises that exist from time to time. Not everyone can afford a new vehicle, in which case you are right buyer beware. There are too many variables to simply write off an entire model or brand because of these types of experiences. GO JOURNEY!

Yup, here in Toronto there are all kinds of Journeys out on the roads. I was kind of shocked while driving through the U.S. last summer and didn't see any of our beloved Journeys until one passed me on the interstate but had the Ontario plates....WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU GUYS!!!!

DodgeCACares reacted to Debra in 2013 R/T Sunroof problem !!!!
Good news this morning, Franklin Chrysler Dodge Located in Franklin TN found the problems with my sunroof. Took them about 20 minutes to locate the problems. They are ordering the new parts. When the parts arrive, they will call me and I will take my Journey back to them for repairs. I was also told that the warranty would cover a rent a car. What a nice surprise! I was treated with high respect and great customer service. I was not told by this service manager that the sunroof was supposed to leak, thank goodness. Now my only hope is that the sunroof can be repaired with no leaks and no splashing me in the face.
More good news, a new customer rep did call us, she left a message stating her name and a number for us to return her call. We returned her call, left her a message and so far she has not returned our call back. Maybe this rep will be of some help to us “the customer” and not listen to the service manager when he feeds her false information. I will keep you posted on all future details. .
Again, I want to thank each and every one of you that stood behind me and my Dodge Journey. ***THANK YOU***

Good for you for not taking no for an answer!!! There are some good dealers out there and it only takes one bad one to make all the others look bad. It also reflects badly on Chrysler, which is unfortunate. Chrysler is working very hard to prove they're building a great product!

    Hello Debra,
Chrysler certainly does not build products to intentionally leak.
I apologize that your dealer has been less than informative in this situation. Please check your private messages.

    alainbock,
You are absolutely right, it can be difficult for your dealer to identify any issues when certain features are working perfectly.
How intermittent is the cruise issue, you can try and book an appointment with service if you can predict when it may happen.

DodgeCACares got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in new noise from K&N?
    wingit11,
    Excellent question ! ! !
Whenever discussing warranty, it is important to understand the parameter and component in question and why it may have failed.
A vehicle warranty is in place to protect the consumer against manufacturing defects. In other words, if a certain part or component failed within the warranty period due to said defect than it would be covered. If a certain component fails for reasons such as abuse or lack of maintenance, then no coverage would apply.
With regards to aftermarket components, surely no manufacturer's warranty would be applied to any component that failed due to this aftermarket component.
Essentially, there would be no warranty applied to any component that fails to due the after market filter that would have normally been covered.
Overall, the installation of an aftermarket part does not void the warranty on it's own, however a restriction may be applied if warranty components fail due to that aftermarket part.
Be cautious when installing aftermarket parts.

    2011sxt,
I did some research and found the Mopar Cold Air Intake for 2011 - 13 DJs (part# 77060080) which is available in Canada.
Contact your local dealer for pricing and ordering information.
Also, I agree with redtomatoman, let your dealer install it that way you know you're covered if something goes wrong with the part; which by the way, carries a one year unlimited kms warranty.

DodgeCACares got a reaction from Hawaii in 2013 DJ Mopar Fog Light Kit
    Hawaii,
Found a kit available through our dealer network that looks pretty cool.
    Mopar Fog Lights:
These lights undercut inclement weather and minimize glare. They are designed specifically for your vehicle and provide an integrated look.
Additional Details: Fog Lights, Complete kit, same as production, for vehicles without Auto Headlights
    Part # 82212736
Looks like we have a few dealers that carry this in stock in the GTA area, if not, are national depot has a bunch. I would go see your local dealer (Parts Department) and confirm via your VIN# that this kit is compatible for your DJ, as well as pricing, installation.
    Hope this helps!
