Thanks you guys. I was too scared to try it. Didn't want the alarm sounding and there be nothing I could do about it. So, in a move that is COMPLETELY unlock me...I actually walked to the store for a battery! It works. I am happy. And I have earned a treat!

My FWD DJ does not do this. Or if it does, it is quite mild. Evidently it is either due to the AWD system or the transmission programming. That's my understanding.

    Thank you for your input!
From what I am being told from the dealer now is that it must fail for them to fix it. The dodge dealer who currently has my car is saying they believe its a sensor (did not tell me what one). But the Chevy dealer (where I bought it) is saying its an expensive sensor and they want to be 100% sure its that, so I am wondering if that is the same senor you are talking about?
Thanks again for you help, I will run it by them.

This same thing happened to me on my 2011 about a year ago. I went to the dealer and they did a "reset", but all my saved radio stations and such were gone, so I think their reset amounted to little more than a battery disconnect for 30 mins. Worked great after that. No problems since. I would try the battery disconnect first before traveling to the dealer. Good Luck.

Thanks for the link. The problem is that there are so many opinions from so many owners of (again) so many different vehicles.
Im looking for a reasonably priced tire for my Journey LUX AWD and hoped i could find someone who could compare the stock tires to the Optimo's. Im not looking for the worlds greatest tire but hopefully something thats at least a little better in the snow than the stock Kumhos.

More history. More of your observations. What has been added that was not original? What radio did you have? What radio do you have now? What has been checked? What has the dealer told you? What do you think the problem is? Any theory why the dealer has not fixed the problem. Have you demonstrated the problem to the dealer and they still don't or can't fix it? What did the dealer say when you told them you think your vehicle needs a microphone? Have you tried more than one dealer? Anything else important.
    Peace.

The culture here is one where helpful folks help to solve problems and give advice. Not all journeys have the same problems. If you need some help, you'll be able to find it here. If you don't, well I guess it would be a waste of time. All car manufacturers have service departments, and they are all full of problems being addressed. Your original message implied that journeys have more problems. They do not. Good luck to you.

Clicking the vimeo logo at the bottom right will take you to vimeo.com and the video works much better. Some sort of buffering lag if you click the play button in the post. Also, make sure HD is on and the speedo is more clear.

I was messing around with my go pro camera a few days ago to see how it would film outside the vehicle while driving. I decided to stop to see what my Journey would do from a stop to 60mph. I figured out the time via the video editing software. Right on 8.1 seconds. Only had time for one run as there was a car about a 1/2 mile back. Pretty good for a single run. If I had a few runs and some practice, I feel certain our DJs can do the 0-60 run in the mid 7's. Anyway, here it is.

Huh. Great info Mcgusto. I stand corrected. I was thinking that the 2010s were nearly as integrated as the 2011+ models. Best of Luck to you btown!

    btown,
You, sir, are brave. These systems are amazingly integrated. Maybe less so in 2010, but, nonetheless, still integrated. If you can return the pioneer system and get an upgraded Dodge OEM system, I think you'll be better off even if the cost is substantially more. I can't think of anything more infuriating than discovering some part of the vehicle electronics doesn't work while I'm driving. Makes me homicidal. I honestly believe that the days of aftermarket systems are numbered. If not, I think aftermarket systems will soon change markedly. I may be wrong, but I think you have a lot of frustration in your future with the pioneer system. I'm pulling this straight outta my @$$, but with OEM software linked directly to hardware, future aftermarket systems will need licensing from manufacturers. Maybe not, dunno. Maybe these aftermarket companies have some software tricks HP their sleeves. Right now, I think your chances of getting a fully operational better than OEM system are slim. Not impossible, but slim. Best of luck to you if you forge ahead with the pioneer.
    Peace.

The only beef I have with I-4 that comes in the DJs is that it doesn't do that much better when it comes to mileage. Yes, it is better, but not by much. I tend to restrain my tendency to really get into my acceleration. BUT, when I do, its really fun, man!!
I use my DJ for road trips (mountain biking, surfing, etc.) and I tend to have gear on the roof rack. That tends to decrease my mileage slightly, but I drive responsibly. Over the past 3-4 tanks of gas, I have averaged better than 26 miles/gallon. That figure includes the in town driving that any of those trips include. I'd say its an 80/20 mix of highway/town driving. On the freeway, I get somewhere in the 28s most often.
The thing that I like about the Pentastar is that the power is there if I need it. The thing I have mixed feelings on is the computer programming because our DJs are programmed for fuel efficiency and the downshift can come late. I compensate by using the autostick with frequency. I really like the autostick. I can leave it in D or drive my DJ "like" a manual transmission if I so choose.
Anyway, I have had lots of fun with and have been very happy with my DJ thus far. I hope to keep it many years. I have some new mods planned, so I'll post those when I get them completed.
    Peace.

Not all forum members have engine/transmission technical knowledge. There are some though. I'm sure you will get some suggestions. My suggestion is to find the nearest dealer or transmission shop. My feeling is that the dealer is best. We are all married to the dodge service center with the new levels of technology and electronics that our DJs have. Good Luck.

Door dings make me crazy. A parking lot hit & run would make me homicidal! I have my '91 Dakota for around town stuff and work. My DJ is for road trips only. She spends a lot of time safe in the garage. Freeway driving and kicked up rocks definifely add dings to the front, though. Takin' her to Las Vegas this weekend. Valet parking. It makes me feel better than self parking, at least.
Sorry about your DJ, man. I know how you feel.

I think the Dodge dealer should warranty your brakes. As a dealer selling a used car, it is their responsibility to be sure the vehicle is reasonably driveable. 600 km before brakes need changing does not seem reasonable to me. I agree though, if you have to pay. Use aftermarket performance parts. Good Luck.

This story reminds me of the guy who drives around on his spare because those dumbass tire stores want $200 for just one tire. That same dumbass is then completely surprised when he has another flat and is stranded without a spare. OMG!
When you get your new car designed by Pokeman, please, for your own sake, read the manual and check your pockets before doing laundry. Chapstick makes a real mess in the dryer.

We don't live in snow country, but we do make several trips to the mountains during winter. AWD just helps add little bit more security when hauling the family through those winding wet/snowy/icy roads.
