oops. "unlike me"

Thanks you guys. I was too scared to try it. Didn't want the alarm sounding and there be nothing I could do about it. So, in a move that is COMPLETELY unlock me...I actually walked to the store for a battery! It works. I am happy. And I have earned a treat!

Oh, it is a 2010 journey.

It is the basic journey key. Sorry if I sound lame, but I don't push a button to start. I just put the fob in and turn. And it starts. Last night I locked it and now today...nothing. Cant lock or unlock it with fob. I want to drive to go get a battery. But I don't want the alarm to sound when I used the metal key and...with the fob not working..not be able to turn the alarm off. I hope that makes sense.

So, I have read both answers in many places. But I guess the battery is dead in my key fob. Will the alarm sound if the metal key is used to open the door? I am afraid to get into/open the car to go get a new battery!
