Seems odd that wiring would fail on such a new vehicle. Same for the motor. In either case, yes it is possible. Given the fact that you are getting a buzzing sound, and you have tested the motor, are you sure you do not have a bind in the window? Maybe something small in between the window and the seal along the bottom? Just a thought.

2010 Dodge journey won't start
Summer Solstice replied to nyundacover321's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
I would seek a different mechanic's opinion. If your current mechanic knows that Dodge knows, but does not know himself, it sounds more like a biased opinion than fact. If he knows what it is, why does he not fix it? I don't see a lot of Journeys sitting at gas pumps, or elsewhere, because of some widespread problem. Sounds like an intermittent electrical problem. They can be a bear to find but clearly your mechanic does not appear to know where to look. -

That is a nice looking set-up.

Check the Owner's manual for any fuse possibilities. Don't have AWD and don't know if there is a fuse but when something completely and silently quits, that is the place to start. How do you know that it is not working at all? What are the symptoms? Those who actually have AWD will be along for more experienced replies.

Soft brake pedal, bad ABS unit?
Summer Solstice replied to Nelson's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
Thank you for the input. I have yet to do brakes on a Journey. Hints like this are very helpful when the time comes. -
Dodge Journey 2013 shudder at 40 MPH

Plug in a code scanner and see if anything comes up. Auto parts stores may do it for free. I just had a different vehicle scanned today. -
Thanks for the update. Air in the system is a common problem that people learn about the hard way. It's a lesson you don't forget. I haven't.

Trouble starting Dodge Journey
Summer Solstice replied to Kelly19's topic in Electrical, Battery & Charging
OEM batteries have been a known issue in the Journey. Supposedly you have that angle covered. If the battery is going dead, and the alternator is testing fine, you may have a parasitic draw. There are a lot of threads on that problem here. The most common is the Bluetooth module. Try pulling the fuse for the Bluetooth to rule that out. Do some searching in the forum for similar complaints. -
Good suggestions above. As stated, it may be worth paying for a firm diagnosis before just throwing parts at it yourself. Even if you do a self-repair, hopefully you can find out exactly where the problem is first. The coolant level is the place to start.

Please follow up your window fog problem, in the proper thread, if the solution works for you.

Don't assume anything when it comes to what was inspected. Bushing and sway bar links most differently would cause this problem. Make sure these things are inspected by a competent mechanic, not just a tire shop. While I like Discount Tire for taking care of my tire needs, they do not do anything mechanical. For that, I have to go elsewhere. Make sure that who you use for the inspection is properly trained and certified for this type of work.

You can rent or buy a fuel siphon kit for between 10-15 dollars. No experience but a quick Google search came up with a lot of options from various retailers.

I've got a dead Mercury Marquis that you can have. Premature engine failure. Come and get it. I replaced it with the Journey.

Well, that's it...I'm done. I enjoy the Journey, I like the ride, I like the layout, I like the way it runs. But, damn, if there is no threaded hole for a hook that will never be used, it's junk. I just hope I can pawn it off on some unsuspecting individual who deserves a POS Avenger.

This is in response to the original post but may be relevant to the second post. If the blend door, heater core, and thermostat have been ruled out or repaired AND you have flush and refilled the system but still have no heat, you may have an air bubble in the line or core. It is a common problem that can happen on any vehicle.

Download a copy of the Owner's Manual if you do not have one. You can find the PDF free online. Follow the recommendations of the manual or contact your dealer for accurate information.

Welcome aboard. Nice looking Journey but, of coarse, I would think so as it is the same year and color scheme as mine. I have been very happy with mine and hope you are too.
