Block heater I keep it outside. I use synthetic oil so I don’t plug it in unless it’s below -20C or -4F. I have it on a smart timer that turns on 6hrs before I start it. The 6hrs is more for when it’s -30C or lower. On a side note, since posting a few days ago it sounds like the power steering pump is now going. It’s whining after it gets hot. I think I’m going to take it in for this one as it looks to be pretty involved with not much people taking about it.
5rebel9
My son's '11 mainstreet awd now has 266,200 miles on it and going strong. Says he's going to keep it till the wheels fall off. He now likes the idea of NO CAR PAYMENTS for his ride after a minor "fiasco" with his wife's '19 Jeep compass for maint. AND an 11% rate car loan! My ram has a block heater, electric rack so no whinning hydraulic pump on start ups. Journey 3.6 pumps are burried and always noisy, it seems. Daughter in law's 2.4 is quiet and hi milage, but easy access, figures. I would suck out the atr+4 first, make sure reservoir bottom screen is clear, brake cleaner spray works well. My fluid has been changed multiple times. Pump slightly loud, but tolerable still. Try a flush or two. I must have "jinxed" my son! On 2/15/26 while on his way to work at 5:15 am he hit a deer with "old red". Tore off the front bumper fascia and under plastics, but no damage to metalwork or composite header panel. The radiator popped out of it's clip mounts but did not get hurt to leak, so he made it to work all right. I went and swapped the cars for him with our 4 bangerfwd and limped his car home. Being a bitter cold morning/day, all went well until I got 8 miles from home when something in the cooling system on the engine firewall side broke and lost all coolant. Longest 8 mile ride I've ever had( and coldest interior) to nurse it home. Needless to say until Spring and warmer and DRY days come, no real inspection/ repairs can be done. SO we are transferring ownership of the 4 banger to him (which he likes the car). NOW for my car situation, I AM getting through my friend a '17 crossroad that I posted of possibly buying in another thread here on the site. $6.5grand, and it IS an AWD. It is getting a lot of repairs in that price (VC gaskets/oil filter housing(aluminum), plugs and a new flex plate from damaged teeth for starter ring). I will have some electrical wiring repairs to do with the rear hatch lighting and back up camera, and probably the wires in the "rubber boot" area being the cause (no big deal for me). This summer, I'll put a hitch on it and wire for trailer. Then the game plan is to go back to "old red" and see if we can put him back together at a reasonable cost, as my son would like to keep him IF POSSIBLE. 2late4u
I Just got Thur spending a bunch of $$ on my 2014, new windshield $100 thru Allstate ins., new tires went with some Pirelli scorpion 3 from discount tire,I have never had this brand before but they are riding quiet and rated real good,I got a great deal due to one of my old tires having to be replaced due to a nail and they adjusted the other 3 out so out the door for $700 with tire warranties as well,,,had a trans service done to a broken bolt on the pan cover that was done at the dealership but was covered up with enough permatex to keep the bolt head from falling off but it was done around 4 yrs and 60 k so I just had it fixed and fluid and filter at the local transmission shop didn't want to blame or argue with the dealership, cost was around $300...So all set for a long time now I hope.... 5rebel9
Well it's 2 weeks later and the '17 is still at my friends shop. He decided on putting on a new set of tires and a front wheel bearing, thus causing the delay due to other work running his shop. Last Friday and Monday, I went over and checked out the rear hatch lighting and B/up camera issues and indeed found 12 broken wires in the rubber boot. I repaired them all and ALL is good now. The wife will LOVE the B/up camera, and may even start moving the car in reverse more now than just backing into our driveway (LOL)! I'm hoping to have the car in my driveway this Friday, and will try activating remote start system with my alfaobd program (it didn't have that feature), I've already programmed a proper fob to the car, but am having trouble getting it to start on the second click on the fob... not sure if the used hood switch is bad or what just yet, so I'm going to try the working one from "old red" while he's in "hibernation". I had activated "old red" and the '14 we had for remote start, so I'm comfortable knowing I used the proper steps on the '17. My son is really liking the '13 4 banger for it's added toys and better MPG than "old red". STAY TUNED for further updates..... MADFATDAD77
Mine has 174,000 and runs great. Its only had regular maintenance issues mostly, had a window issue but I fixed myself. Other than that it has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. I used to work in sales at a very prestigious Dodge dealership back in the day so I know Dodges and again I'm super proud of my Dodge and it's reliability. My neighbor bought a Jeep same time..he's selling it in his front yard now LMFAO. GO DODGE!

John/Horace
Welcome to site. You must have the 3.5 engine, it's was pretty reliable unit. If you don't have service records, do all the fluids right away, cheapest maint you can do in the long run. Especially if you have dripping leaks; can't tell fluid level without refilling sometimes.
