The sound system is pretty good compared to the previous new vehicle I had. But I hardly ever listen to the radio anyways. I prefer to focus on playing on my phone.....

    Hey There Forum!
First time post here... I just bought a 2012 Journey SXT, and absolutely love it! The only question I have is:
When looking at the Uconnect site, I see that the 8.4" Uconnect systems are supposed to have Bluetooth. My Uconnect doesn't have the phone menu button.. I thought it might be a software issue, so last night I upgraded the software on my Uconnect - still no phone menu. Are there certain models that don't have Bluetooth?
    Thanks!
    Derek

For the OP: Glad to hear you are enjoying your vehicle and that your opinion of the 4 cylinder matches the experience I had with my '11 - I'd have gladly taken another unit with the 4 banger if it was offered in the Crossroad up here in Kanukistan . . . but it isn't.
Mine has about 17.5K and there is a rattle from the front passenger seat - seems to be related to the seat back. I also have an annoying vibration that is a bad winter tire. In about 6 weeks the summer wheels go back on. I can't wait.
Beyond that the only issue I've had was that the oil pressure sender failed - and the dealer started out by trying to make it seem like it was because of using the wrong oil filter - he of course changed his tune when I insisted on being present when the oil filter was removed so I could prove a claim against Costco, who do my oil changes . . . . .

This is an oil level code I assume, based on jkeaton's reply? Was the light blinking?? This is probably the easiest indicator to tell you whether or not it is okay to drive the vehicle (and it should state this in your OWNER'S MANUAL). If the light is blinking, turn off the vehicle immediately. If it is a solid light, get it checked ASAP, but it is okay to drive the vehicle in the meantime. I would agree that this is probably a faulty sensor, but make sure your oil level is correct.

    "Houston, we have a problem."

    Had your attention didn't I
Well here is where we are at with our 2015 Journey:
    Repairs: NONE
Fuel Economy: 21-23 City and 28 to 30 highway (dependent on road conditions and terrain)
    Tire wear: NORMAL
    Tire Rotations: 2
    Oil Change Intervals: 3000, 8000
    Oil Type: Pennzoil Synthetic
    Oil Filter: Mopar
    Driving Ratio: 40% city 60% highway/interstate
    Concerns or complaints: NONE
    Overall: 5 stars
They really did it right in my opinion with this vehicle. It does everything I need it to do, with no complaints or problems.
I am totally impressed with the 2.4L engines ability and fuel economy in a vehicle this size.
Only once did I wish for the power of the 3.6. On a two lane road with a short passing zone. The extra power would have
    been nice.
The Journey has had no squeaks, rattles or other obnoxious problems in fit or finish that I can find.
It doesn't get any better than this so far.

Here is how I have it set up in my truck and will have it set up in the Journey. First I must say that having the light bar controlled by the high beams is a very responsible thing to do. Here is why, when on a trail and you have your light bar on, you can shut off your high beams and bar at the flick of the high beam switch. Rather than them getting blinded as you flick off your high beams then find the switch for the light bar. Now I am not saying to have it only wired to your high beam and run it on the road. So this is what I did.
I tapped into the high beam wire at the headlight. From there I ran that line to a switch in the cab. From that switch it then went to a relay. The bar is of course powered through the relay. That way the switch is either automatic to the headlights or off ( for when you are on the highway). This will only work if you do not have DRL. If you have DRL you then need 2 relays ran in a series. One connected to the high beams and one to the low beams. The low beams one is because the DRL run off of the high beams, so for the bar to come on it would need both the low beams on (which come on at night) and the high beams to be on.
This prevents you from accidently leaving your light bar on during the day, as I see way too often on the highway, and allows you to quickly shut off your high beams and the light bar. So no accidently draining of battery or anything like that. This is why I believe this is a much more responsible setup.
Edit: If your laws allow more lights (which most only allow 2, so that option is out as we have a low beam and high beam on at the same time) then look into the RIGID dot approved lights. They will keep you legal as long as you are within how many lights you are allowed on at once. But they are quite expensive and IIRC the largest is a 10". Oh and of course use a fuse in the relay connection as meantioned above. Just make sure the relay can handle the dropped voltage of the PWM.

Ok, so are aftermarket intakes a myth. There is no easy answer.
I have done quite a bit of logging on a different platform with a couple different intake systems and driving around while under motion I have yet to see an increase in temps over ambient. Yes at a stop the temps will increase above ambient but as soon as you get moving the temp drops right back down. So like mentioned from a stop you are probably seeing a slight loss in power, but the loss in power would be like comparing driving your vehicle in 50F weather or 70F weather. Can you tell the difference? And that is just off the line before the air gets flowing.
But Sean is correct that they will increase your throttle response slightly as you have less restriction. Less restriction means the air will get moving quicker. But if you would even notice the increase in throttle response is hard to say.
Most 3rd party dynos I have seen on varying platforms show at most a 1-2 whp PEAK gain, which is well within the error factor of a dyno. Which shows that for total air flow the factory air box has enough for max power. Oh and race cars and other highly modified engines would need the extra size of an aftermarket intake, and if someone supercharged ours that would most likely be needed. But on a stock journey with only exhaust would not benefit much, other than slightly better throttle response.
So yes they do increase performance slightly, just not peak power. Most likely not enough to factor the price tag, but really who cares about price. Its all about the cool factor. Its all up to what you determine is worth it. And it all depends if you think the quicker throttle response is worth the slight power loss from a stop.

They have wider piping and high flowing filters allowing more air to enter. Stock intakes are pretty restrictive. They make them small from factory because less air means less fuel which means higher mpg and that's a big selling point. The really high end ones have twin wall tubing to keep the air cooler. It's really not a myth! Lol why else would race cars use them?? Why do you think the first thing they do is throw the factory intakes in the garbage?? Derp!! Hehehe

I'm just about to hit 30,000. Probably going to throw in a drop in k&n cause o want to keep the ram air and I'm going to see if a throttle body spacer can be used. Any of you know if one would fit? Just looking for better response, I noticed sometimes it doesn't move as quick as I'd like it, already have two magnaflow performance mufflers ne t is magnaflow resonator, motor mods are very slim picking, I guy in my city said he bought a chip for 40$ and it gave him an extra 50 HP lol. I just shook my head let him believe it
