Today marks one year that we've had our 2013 Crew. I have to say that I love this car even more now than the day we got it. 18,600 miles later, it goes down the road just as smooth, straight and silently as when new. And with the exception of a couple of stone chips here and there (which get touched up as soon as they are discovered) I could put the sticker back in the window and put it on the lot and one may not know it was used until they looked at the odometer. Here's to wishing all of you here on this forum a similar experience!

You can disable the interior lights altogether by rotating the rheostat on the dash all the way down. This way, the lights don't wake up if you open a door. From the owner's manual:
    Dimmer Control
The dimmer control is part of the headlight switch and is
located on the left side of the instrument panel. Rotating th
dimmer control upward with the parking lights or headlights
on will increase the brightness of the instrument panel
lights, door map pockets and cupholders (if equipped).
    Dome Light Position
Rotate the left dimmer control completely upward to the
second detent to turn on the interior lights. The interior
lights will remain on when the dimmer control is in this
    position.
    Interior Light Defeat (OFF)
Rotate the dimmer control to the extreme bottom off
position. The interior lights will remain off when the
    doors are open.
    Parade Mode (Daytime Brightness Feature)
Rotate the dimmer control upward to the first detent.
This feature brightens all text displays such as the
odometer, EVIC (if equipped), and radio when the parking
    lights or headlights are on.

It's all good. Believe me, I'm only interested in helping out. Solving problems is my job. Creating new ones does not do anyone any good. You and I are in the business and we hear the horror stories all the time from other stores that are indifferent to customers' needs, or are incompetent, or worse, both - and I truly hate that. If it sounded like I was pointing fingers, then I apologize. What I read initially from the customer was that they took the car in and your WiTech system and/or DealerConnect would not connect at all. My offer was to add the sales codes so that all they had to do was bring it back and just have you restore it. So many places have no idea how to do this (which amazes me), but reading your posts now I see that there is a greater issue at hand. Thank you for clarifying.

Thanks, @Journeyman425. Yesterday I was assured (once again) that the problem was not with their system, as three other cars were able to connect. Anywho, dropped her off last night and should be receiving a phone call today. Will update.

Stories like this just kill me. Here's how we're going to try and help you:
Please post or PM the last eight digits of your VIN number with your approximate mileage. I work for a dealer and will try to add the appropriate sales code to your build sheet options so that when you return to the dealership, all they will have to do is reconfigure your vehicle on their computer so the new sales code is picked up. That will enable power to the trailer tow wiring harness. A reconfiguration, or restoration, is much like restarting your home PC after a major update. The updates don't take effect until the computer is restarted. Same general idea here. A restoration takes about 10 minutes to do, and your selling dealer really should do it for you at no charge since they could not/would not do it for you the first time and now you have been inconvenienced by having to return a second time. Three hours to install the trailer tow harness? As you saw, it is one connection and then attaching it to the inside of the rear fascia. No big deal.
Like yourself, I was surprised at the content of the Trailer Tow Prep Group. When I ordered my car, I immediately became suspicious of the content when I saw the price of the package. So, I knew to order a hitch as well. And like yourself, even though mine was built with the tow package, we still had to reconfigure the car to make the lights work! I'll never be able to figure the logic out on that one!

The omission of the LMK sales code is what I have been trying to figure out all along, and no one at Chrysler has yet to provide me with a factual answer. From a mechanical and engineering standpoint, the Journey for 2014 is identical to its 2013 brethren. The only changes are in color/trim availability, the addition of the Crossroad model (just a trim package) and a name change on one model from Crew to Limited - nothing more than a badge. I have run the VIN on several 2014 models trying to add LMK to the build sheet so that when the vehicle is reconfigured, the code is picked up and would then allow the DRL to be enabled via the touchscreen. The process involves logging into a vehicle options update section on Chrysler's TechConnect site. In this area, you type in the VIN and a drop-down menu appears with all the available add-on sales codes for that particular VIN. For 2014, LMK is simply not there. I ran a VIN for a Canadian 2014 and sure enough, LMK is present in the standard features section of his build sheet - logically so, as we all know that DRL are mandated in Canada. I simply do not know what happened to LMK for US 2014s.
When you open a window in TechConnect to factory order a 2014, you are asked to select options that you want. DRL appears as optional for a nominal fee. So, my guess is that LMK has become proprietary to Chrysler at the point of ordering and is no longer allowed to be added at the dealer end. It is the only thing that I can rationally surmise, since LMK is still used to enable DRL in Canada. I would like to run a VIN on a US model 2014 that has DRL enabled to add credibility to my theory. Interestingly enough, as I mentioned in my previous post, I could have selected DRL as an extra-cost option when I ordered my 2013 Crew. My guess is that they (Chrysler) figured at the time that either they would charge for it up front or the dealer would charge the customer to enable it. Perhaps they've now figured that they could better profit by simply charging for it when the car is ordered and built rather than have someone like myself adding sales codes for our Journey-owning friends all over the country for free!

Thankyou Godfather! Even though the chrome bodyside moulding was way overpriced, I am glad I got it. I have never seen one on any Journey anywhere around here and there are a lot of them. Same for the gas cap. Seen lots on Challengers and Ram trucks but never on a Journey. Since I have the black carpet floor mats, I've noticed they show every grain of sand that gets tracked in. Might get another set for the front of carpet mats but a lighter colour. Not sure if Mopar makes such a thing. I will get some Weather Tech floor liners for the front only in the fall.

    Release Date: 09/17/2011
    Symptom/Vehicle Issue:
Battery Saver Message Appears In The Evic
    Discussion:
Battery saver message is being displayed in the EVIC of the cluster.
    Repair:
Vehicles with EVIC warning display can display a battery saver message. The sensor on the battery reports battery (voltage, temperature, state of charge and amp-hours in/out etc.) to the CBC (Body Controller) on the LIN bus. The CBC sends a message to the cluster to indicate ‘battery saver active’ it indicates that the battery has lost >5 AH during an ignition cycle and may cause other component operation issues reducing component performance, blower speed, radio volume, window operation ect…as battery charge declines.

well I have to say I'm impressed.. I have a 2013 ram 1500 bighorn and I love everything about it !!!!! This past week I had to go to Calgary AB for work. I live in Vancouver BC and it's about a 10 hr drive through the mountains. I usually like taking my truck on long drives cuz it's so comfy and powerful. My wife was coming with me this time so i decided to take her 2014 DJ RTR to see how it would do. I have to say it did pretty good. It doesn't have the passing power of my truck but it does have better cornering and the ride is just as smooth. I averaged 25.5 mpg which considering how much climbing i had to do is pretty good. Navigation, auto climate and the lumbar supported power seats all made the drive very comfortable.... not going to lie the journey wasn't my first choice... my wife didn't want a mini van but needed extra seating... the salesman sold us on a DJ RTR but i was kind of regretting it after the leaky sunroof incident... well it totally redeemed itself on this road trip.

Sure sounds to me like a tire issue - a broken cord or shifted belt inside the tire itself - either of which will cause a pull and a shimmy at the same time. When the car is up on the lift and the wheels are spun off of the ground, you'll be able to see the tire's out-of-round condition as it rotates. Based on what you're describing, I'd almost guarantee that replacement tires will solve both problems.

Amusing indeed! Happy that the restoration worked - no reason why it shouldn't - the only thing I haven't figured out yet is why the sales code has disappeared from the 2014 options lists. I'm working on that...
Chrysler is pretty vague when discussing the DRL activation. The US model owner's manuals simply state that, if the model is equipped with DRL then they can be toggled on and off with the touch screen. But they don't say how to enable them or that a dealer visit is required to activate them. It's almost like we at the dealership had to discover this by accident. I found one document on the Chrysler side after an extensive search which gave instructions about adding a sales code to the options list and then reconfiguring the car so they work. I wrote to the Chrysler STAR center last week about the missing 2014 sales code, and how do I make them work. I received a quick, rather cryptic reply that if the code isn't there then it is not possible to enable them. I don't buy it. I'm convinced that there is a way.
Same issue with my trailer tow harness. I factory ordered the car with the trailer tow prep group. We had to connect the supplied tow harness to the existing wiring when the hitch was installed. No problem, right? Well, hooked up a tester to the trailer lights and they did not work. Fuse is in place, not blown, and there is only one way to connect the harness. So, why don't they work? Same reason as the DRL - we had to add a sales code for a Mopar trailer hitch and then restore the car and sure enough, now they work. This baffled me to no end. Why on earth would we have to add this sales code to make the car work when the car was ordered and built with the trailer tow group already??? And...trailer tow prep group is listed in the options already!! If I ordered it that way, then I'm going to tow with it - duh!
Anyway - they (your dealership) probably did not realize that the DRL does not come on unless the car is running and shifted into gear. When in park, the lights are off. They started the car after the reconfiguration and saw that the lights were off and concluded that they didn't work. Also, don't forget that when you have a turn signal on, the corresponding DRL goes off so that oncoming traffic can clearly see the turn signal flashing. Once the signal cancels the light comes back on. Enjoy!
