  1. Last time I replaced a passenger side CV shaft bearing on a Caravan, noise was gone. Then, I was able to hear the noise from the drivers side now ! Could this be the case too, your better off changing both sides at the same time ? I also found that going with the OEM parts seemed to be an easier install than aftermarket in this case. I bought both just in case prior to doing the job.
  2. Now those are pretty detailed instructions and images.....on how to. Nice job Carter3journey !
  3. Its been four days now since I added 4 oz of rain-X to my washer fluid reservoir.( rain-x website instructions for adding to washer fluid)...no low fluid level alarm yet ? If my windshield beads water better may just keep doing this, unless my low level light suddenly starts coming on .
  4. So why does 2late4u not have an issue, would the yellow rainX not also have teflon type additives in it in order to repel the water ? You're not the only person using these type washer fluids I bet, this is the first I've read about this issue here. These are not new products, is it possible the sensor is just getting weaker over time and this type product affects it more ? Like you said, when using blue fluid issue gone, use the blue problem solved. I am going to add some rainx to my washer fluid resevoir now and see what happens.
  5. Use what ever is the best deal at that time what ever colour or brand.....colour changes as fluids are mixed.. But then again I never let the washer fluid get to that point of low level warning !
  6. Add coolant to the resevoir bottle, it should take what it needs
  7. That is just what is in the transmission filter pan only, mine was about 5 quarts; then there is the fluid still in the torque converter, the cooler near the rad and the lines. I was told about 11 liters total in the 6 speed. So after initial drain in fill ; waited a day sucked another 4 quarts from the "service only" tube of darker fluid and filled exact amount with new. Next day did that again and now fresh looking red fluid again. so I do not think 4-5 quarts out of the filter pan is a full fluid change ? I could be wrong too ?
  8. Looks ok with the wiper and arm gone.
  9. My 2012 (bought in April 2011) is now 9 years old like 2late4u said so few issues on my end also. Brakes / rotors all around, doing fronts again this week, tires, battery, thermostat, heater core, coolant flush and only two recalls power steering hose & steering wire harness. Most all these are normal wear and tear items expected to need replacement. DJs may not be the quietest, smoothest rides but for most of us, a very reliable car that is fun to drive with the 3.6 and does the job. At 120,000 miles I would say the car does not owe anything to anyone, 187,546 miles that car is a beast looking to prove something !
  10. Had a 1984 Merc Cougar that the wipers tucked under the hood and could not be seen, I liked not seeing them.
  11. Nope.....monthly check unless the hood is opened for another reason like washer fluid.
  12. Sorry for resurrecting this post ( funny I said that on Easter Sunday ). Being that we are on house arrest at this time for the safety of us all I decided to try 2late4u's idea since changing my trans filter only allowed for 5 litres of fluid drain. I purchased a princess auto oil / fuel pump for $13 and changed 3.5 L thru the "dealer only servicing" tube / filter pan before sucking air. I'll wait a couple weeks and change another 3.5 L with new fluid, should have almost a complete change over then after a total of 12 L drain and fills. Thanks for the idea.
  13. Thought mine would not slide to adjust either, then neighbour said you need to pull hard on both lever and the seat. Maybe because the rear seats are not moved much, not as easy as the fronts ?
  14. Take whatever you had to remove to change the plugs again. Maybe you will see if you disconnected some wire and it is just lying there ?
  15. Not bad, wish I had that much room when I changed my thermostat !
  16. T Just make sure you do not back this plug cap all the way off the threaded bolt or the anchors ( wings) will fall off, but then again the end appears to be mushroomed to stop that from happening ?
  17. Recall work done some years ago on my 2012, not an issue prior to the recall and never an issue since. How is it that you are constantly having an issue ? There must be some other contributing factor. Being in the western provinces you have far colder winter for longer continuous periods, was that not the issue in this recall cold weather conditions ? How high of pressure rated hose can you go with while maintaining proper ID and OD ?
  18. I can see your frustration but not sure you can paint the issues your facing with such a wide brush to include DJs in general ? I have never seen a member include such a list of problems, at one time; if the fuse box was such a bad design we would ALL have issues. As mentioned possibly one issue, the BCM is the root cause of many of your problems noted. Like most here, my 2012 DJ has never had a major problem, simply routine maintenance required and replacement of battery, brakes and most recently a transmission flush with filter change. Lucky, no that is most of our experiences here, there are too many DJs on the road for over a decade if this was a poorly designed vehicle. Hope you can find the root cause of your issues mentioned, so you can enjoy your DJ as most all of us do. Seems like a $80 diagnosis would be money well spent if it finds the root issue to correct the items listed generally.
  19. "Yeah, my wife I enjoys it, so happy wife, happy life. It's her car, what she wanted." No need to explain anything, we all understand after this statement LMAO
  20. Three different people just here with the same problem, obviously not a user mistake. Why not just uninstall / install the earlier version again and wait until a fix comes out without this bug.
  21. Brother just finished removing & painting a front lower end on a car, repair included, base coat, metallic and then clear coat. He said his cost for materials was $200 so, that $300 was not that bad I guess ? Finding another fender having close to the same paint fade might be a little tricky ?
  22. Dad was mechanic and always covered battery posts with anti corrosion type spray too.As mentioned, not much room to move a can all around in the wheel well area. Not sure if another coating I have seen done (Vaseline) is any good but never seen corrosion on that battery either.
  23. Have you verified that in the dashboard screen settings that all doors are set to unlock with fob ? I know the option is there to have only driver's door or all doors. Just thinking maybe that somehow changed back to only driver's door . When set to driver's door only I think you had to push unlock on fob twice to open the other doors also.
  24. Will the back to black type protectants cover that up until the wax wears off ?
  25. Is there not a part # stamped on it somewhere ? Find that then google the number and that should help identify it.
