  1. I am thinking about upgrading both the high beams / low beam bulbs on out 2012 Journey RT to LED's (by a Canadian brand called Hanning) which a good friend of mine has recommended & is using on his older Dodge Ram & is very pleased with the overall performance / quality. Their website is here as an FYI - Hanning LED - Your Canadian Offroad Lighting Source I have e-mailed Hanning directly (waiting for their reply), however I wanted to ask fellow members here if they have had any experience with the following; - Does anyone have else have specific experience with this brand of LED bulbs? If so, please share your feedback. - Does anyone know if I will need a CANbus resistor for both the 9005 high beam / DRL's & 9006 low beam bulbs that the owners manual calls for (obviously to prevent the warning light's on the dash). - Other than the Hanning LED choice, what do my fellow Charger members suggest I should consider & why? Thank you in advance to all.
  2. I agree with you re first world problems jk....actually I own 2 Dodge's (my daily driver is a 2012 Charger 'Blacktop' edition). The Journey RT is the Wife's...so I'm pretty sure I'm in it for the long haul! It's just completely silly to design things that way (cost cutting at it's finest to begin with). Took some research, but those are the only bulbs on the entire vehicle that can't be changed to LED's. At least one knows...
  3. What specific LED bulbs did everyone use on their Journey & what site(s) did you get them from? I would like to upgrade to the LED bulbs on my 2012 RT. Thanks in advance.
  4. After much research & tapping into my resources, it is disappointing to discover that we can't change the bulbs on the vanity mirrors period (at least from 2011 to current Journey's). You have to buy the entire sun visor assembly (but are still not able to change the bulbs as they are sealed into the vanity mirror unit). Way to go Journey engineers!
  5. Will contact my local dodge dealer for more detailed info...but it should be listed in the owners manual...because...well they are there on my 2012 RT! (and they should be listed in the OM). My main reason why I asked the question to start with, was to see if any fellow owners changed these bulbs to LED's.
  6. Does anyone know the specific bulb number / type for the Journey's illuminated sun-visor vanity light bulbs? They exist on our 2012 RT & there is no info in the owners manual or on some popular online bulb sites (Xenondepot.com / diodedynamics etc). Was able to easily find the correct application for my 2012 Charger Blacktop edition. They seem to list every bulb but that one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  7. Looking for the procedure on how to update the factory nav system in our 2012 Journey RT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Thank you 2late Based on my research (and I am not coming into this blind so to speak) one has to take apart / disassemble quite a few items including a heat shield, among other components just to get at the fluid fill hole which is very frustrating (again, the draining is no problem...but the fill hole is completely blocked). My trusted mechanic (whom I've had for pushing 11 years now & has never hesitated performing any type of maintenance / service / repairs to my current 2012 Dodge Charger 'Blacktop' or our recently purchased 12 Journey RT AWD, and a few vehicles prior). I have no issues taking the vehicle to the dealer...that is not the issue (although I cringe at the labor charges to put less than a quart of fluid in). Am I the only one that has asked about how to change this fluid on their AWD Journey? Do my fellow AWD owners simply drive them & hope they get lucky without the PTU failing? I know there is no such thing as a 'life long fluid' in any automobile....that simply means 'the life of the warranty' Part of it is definitely how this has been engineered I suppose...
  9. Hello everyone, New to this forum, but not to vehicle forums in general. I am looking to change the transfer case fluid (AKA 'Power Transfer Unit fluid change') in our 2012 Dodge Journey RT AWD & apparently from what I have learned, this is one heck of a job. Easy to drain the old fluid out but a huge pain to get the new/fresh fluid back in (various parts in the way of the fill hole & very labor intensive to make room in order to get the new fluid in etc). I would like to ask members (any tech feedback would be awesome) who have done this service, if there is an easy way to complete this service without having to disassemble / remove a lot of parts in order to change the transfer case fluid or perhaps a specific tool / part one can use to make life easier? Any help with specific details would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
