  1. Same as other post...no latch on two row models just lift up on canvas handle.. Why a latch on third row models ?
  2. Never seen the front windshield done across the top, had a few back in the day with factory tint across the top. What sort of difference does it make overall ? I can see midday sun perhaps ? Just curious.
  3. Physically I saw they appeared alike, I looked. But a google search did not help verify my observation. Thought I would verify here also and I agree probably best grab oem for the sake of $15. Thanks guys.
  4. I noticed that Amazon has the lift cylinder for $10 - $15 less than the dealer. Is there any difference between the driver's or passenger side ?
  5. A door jam wedge, I love it ! Seems like you need to make the gas pedal longer not higher from the way the wedge is placed at the bottom part of gas pedal. Will the gas padal extension do that or just raise the height ? Why not bolt some longer plate ( same width as pedal but longer) directly to the factory gas pedal ?
  6. No issues, do not change.
  7. Articles I have seen in the past show that using other premium ( higher octane) fuels is a complete waste of money if vehicle is designed to use 85 octane anyway. But, I plan on using a can of Sea Foam annually to the fuel tank. Many people swear by using it in boat trolling motor fuels, so I tried it a month ago in our 2012 DJ. I am only putting the numbers I saw without any claims. Before fill up my DJ has a 14 L / 100 kms in a mixed city / highway as usual. Added Sea Foam and two tanks later I am at 11 L / 100 kms same daily driving routine. Maybe it did help clean injectors plus provides moisture protection, stabilizer etc... ? In our area NAPA has Sea Foam on sale till end of February for $8 grabbing a couple more for a 6 month addition in the DJ , can't hurt I guess ? Worse case, I am wasting my money now LOL
  8. It still has full coverage ! Then what's the issue... the fact that they have not yet diagnosed the problem themselves ? Then make the time to get it in there and then also submit the the receipts for the previously purchased hoses. Unfortunately your time to change parts yourself was on you but maybe get a receipt from that shop to compensate the use of the shop equipment etc... Most dealers have a ride program that will take you home / work then pick you up again once work is done. Pain in the ass maybe but if your DJ has full coverage no cash out of your pocket only time. Money is tigh...been there but no working vehicle makes money even tighter.Good Luck.
  9. Beyond the point of being pissed I would think ? Hope someone here is able to help, did you install anything or alter something prior to it killing batteries more frequently ? Just trying to narrow down when issue perhaps started or was this from day one ?
  10. Who cares where the car was sold...it now drives in AK always. The recall applies to every other DJ in your city right ? Dodge Cares, or any other customer service person who frequents these forums step up and do the right thing. Get Alaskan Journey 907 the work done like the majority of us have already had done. Shit our DJ never even leaked and the power steering hoses were replaced free of charge. Your gonna try and tell me they could not mark the work as being done on another local DJ just to smooth the paper work thru faster? Like that has not ever happened before to a DJ out of warranty ( when your friend works at a dealer, seen it done) . Fix the man's DJ
  11. That looks awesome ! Safety concerns can't argue them but, there is still the third brake light for drivers not paying attention to notice. Besides, how crucial are brake lights in the eyes of the law ( in Ontario anyway ) when legally; you only need one to work ? LOL. Just saying...great job on the tinting, hope local police are kind to you.
  12. Just bought the "Reflex" blade from CT $15.99, works great.
  13. I was thinking the same thing, assuming the proper length belt and if the tensioner pulley and arm were installed correctly (square and tight) is the belt not centered on the pulleys (causing it to rub) on the arm. As far as the belt not being on the pulley to the right. The belt may simply only ride on the other side of that pulley, but looking at the belt diagram mentioned will verify this.
  14. If it was just a flush you would not be changing filter, you must drop the bottom of the pan. By doing so you also get to examine / clean the magnet that collects and holds any small metallic pieces in the fluid. Plus wipe away any buildup lying in the bottom. The old gasket must also then be removed and a new one installed. Not a difficult job if you have the car raised but does involve a little time and elbow grease to remove old gasket material sometimes. Not sure if $300 is worth it but, it is not simply a flush.
  15. Best bet for a part like that price wise is probably junk yard, usually 50 % of new price. As mentioned, get price of new at dealer and find a junk yard with a DJ in the yard and pay 50 % or maybe less ? Is the body panel also broken... the edge of wheel well looks pretty jagged too ?
  16. We rented a Malibu and I also wondered how the start and stop of the motoer at traffic lights and stop signs would affect the starter life expected ? Glad to hear the need to return to the dealer after battery replacement is not needed, LOL
  17. Funny, but being in the area near both Michigan and Ohio the Windsor Salt mine makes salt very plentiful and cheap for use in melting ice and snow on our roads. I wish they only would spread sand. Salt kills our car's body around here for four months plus of the Winter season. If you do not service your vehicle components susceptible to this salt by "oil spray"or other corrosion control etc...your car will not last long - rust free. Perhaps my words to describe the bottom of the door openings, door sill plates "rocker panels" was incorrect I apologize. My main point was that these parts normally hollow and notorious for holding moisture and salt seemed filled with foam now for sound suppression etc ? Maybe this foam allows the metal to resist oxidation now ? All I know was I expected the rust protection previously applied to be somewhat present and it was not.
  18. FYI, I have been using the same shop on Walker Road (Windsor, Ontario) since 1997. Usually every 2 years per vehicle, no issues and great service. Yesterday we decided to use another person for the service. Surprise, it was noticed that there seemed to be no oil spraying ever done in the rockers of my 2012 DJ. It has been in twice for the service with former shop. Even looked to see if access was gained from underside, no sir. The rockers are filled with foam ( a bit of a pain in the ass to do ) but new guy suggested adding oil to the rockers anyway; that is where rusting will want to start. Just a heads up that you may want to verify that other service providers are doing the rocker panels also.
  19. FYI, in our Chev Trax the only way to play movies is if the memory card is first formatted in " FAT 32" the other versions (*NTFC etc...) will not work. Not sure about your DJ because our 2012 DJ does not have the DVD package.
  20. Seriously....take to dealer after changing the battery ! I assume that "flashed" will come at a cost too ? If so, what a joke, you may as well put a gun to our heads and make us buy the battery from the dealers . Hope someone can clarify this thought as I am thinking about a new battery also in my 2012.
  21. Not to be rude but are you sure ? My 2012 SXT with 4.3 screen has bluetooth, we play music wirelessly from our BB, Motorolla phones and iPod all the time. We even have used the 3.5mm AUX jack above the usb plug also. Have you paired the devices with the uconnect ?
  22. How can one hand not know what the other is doing in this day and age of linked communication ? My dad also had a hitch installed at the dealer ( Chatham, Ontario) How embarrassing ! I would have loved to see their faces when the consumer has to show them where to get a hitch.
  23. Well what was your outcome ? Too bad no one could help. I just replaced all around on my 2012 SXT for the third time in 55, 000 kms. Luckily changing these pads and disks are pretty straight forward, except the turning the rear cilinders in rather than pushing them in with $17 dollar accessory tool ( surprise surprise) thank you utube for the heads up) ! Did you find a new piece or what ?
  24. Now it is a little clearer LOL Why not use a hammer and hit the dent down from inside as much as possible back in shape. Then, maybe use the spray can of undercoating or even brush it on and seal from the underside ? I think undercoating is flexible enough to have a little give and hopefully maintain a waterproof finish you are hoping for ?
  25. So are talking the plastic bin itself or the metal housing that holds the bin ? If only the plastic get some good two part glue etc...made for plastic as suggested. But, how is water getting into the area holding the plastic bin ? Mine has always been dry as there is no evidence of rust below the plastic bin when removed. Maybe more of a concern ?
