  1. Nothing like a clean car on these dull days. Curious, being that you like keeping things in good shape; where is the bug deflector ?
  2. Come on how can a software issue not be covered regardless of warranty time. A hardware issue such as a physical problem I can see not being covered. Almost all our products laptops etc...get software updates from time to time for "free". maybe novice talked to someone having a bad day ? Try talking to the service manager first, before assuming a cost to the owner is automatic for everyone.
  3. There is a phone # you can call ( somewhere on the papers you did get). You can request that a owners manual be sent to you for free. No hard copy manuals come with the car anymore only a DVD. I did the same just to have a actual manual in the car.
  4. Covered under 3 year warranty ? If so, new parts, new driver...you should now be good to go. Most of us are really happy with the DJ short a few other issues such as brake wear and shifting. Expect you will now enjoy the DJ not regret it.
  5. Wow, good luck. Maybe the start of something to eventually benefit all us DJ owners having the issue ?
  6. Join the club, seems a lot of us have the shifting into gear "clunk" etc.. ! That would be great if our DJs learned how we drove, our route, our . .stops and the times we needed to be there ! My DJ must still be learning after 2 + years LOL., many of us have had our DJs in for updates etc...hard to believe this issue seems somewhat acceptable by the manufacturer. Let's just hope that enough of us complain with every visit and the obvious gets addressed because they really are a nice vehicle.
  7. Dodge Cares, Have done that, when brought to either Racicot and or Countryside. All that was done was verify / install latest update end of story. You know how hard it is to get an issue to happen when you want it to ( at the dealer etc...) LOL. Hard to believe with many people experiencing this same condition it is not something that being looked at ? Since you are also in the Windsor area, maybe you can help us all get this issue looked into. I will bring my car to my dealer or another if you suggest other testing etc.... Contact me, or I can contact you ? Thanks, Patrick
  8. Sorry for not explaining more. But, yes the "clunk" describes it perfectly ! Hard to believe that this is normal ? Is there a transmission update for those of us with this ?
  9. I seldom drove our 2012, 6 cylinder SXT until now. Wife always said it was noisy when putting car in drive / reverse from the park position. Now I drive it and have noticed a slight noise from time to time when putting the car into one of those gears. Just thought I was not letting the car come to a full stop before changing a gear ?. Was told by another owner this is normal in the 6 speed trany. Anyone know how common this is ? Our 3 yrs warranty will be up in April 2015.
  10. Just bought my second set of all weather mats for the Journey. Wife never wanted to spend big bucks for Weathertech. After buying the Novline mats from amazon.ca for her new Chev Trax she was sold. If anyone is looking for great mats that cover and are formed perfectly check out Novline Mats. Yes more flexible but how much water will drip off of your boots anyway ? For $200 Canadian front and back, delivered to my door perfect mats and cheaper the Weathertech.
  11. Agree, just 2 boys but lugging around goalie or baseball equipment all year. Took a trip to Cooperstown for tournament in August ( 10 hrs drive), brought the dog too, We had to ask friends to bring a couple of our bags with them. Our old Dodge Caravan Sport got almost the same mileage but had A LOT more room. I love our 2012 Journey but, in your current situation; my thoughts are get a caravan / grand caravan.
  12. I understand the reason for wanting a system which may only require one treatment etc... and a touch-up here and there. But, I have always done the old oil spray from Ontario Stop Rust ( Windsor Ontario) for over 25 years now. I let them tell me what combination of product to use and where ( standard / dripless) figured they have seen enough to know. For about $100 , I only do it every other year and have NEVER had a rust issue. If it works, why try and fix it ? Just let your car sit on the road for 4 -5 days then, wash it looking for any surface with extra oil seeping from drip holes. Wife talked me into buying that 12 volt system in the new Chevy Trax bought in August. Guaranteed for life against any rusting but, again why fix what was not broke ? But, it is her car, we will see.
  13. I have noticed these plastic covers on weep holes after my other cars were oil sprayed. Always thought they installed them to allow the oil to pool more and penetrate small openings before running out ? Obviously they may have always been there maybe. Might be a good idea to keep them on if you plan on oil spraying the car ? May have less seeping out then, down the bottom of the car along doors etc... ?
  14. Is the 7 pin not the round style ? If so, all you need do is go to Pricess Auto etc... and buy the roundstyle having the built in adapter that has a 4 prong receiver on the tail end for your trailer. That way, you will also already have a round connection ( trailer brakes) for possible future needs. I just used this type adapter ( round to 4 pin flat) yesterday on a silverado and it worked like a charm.

    Smelly AC

Live next to a Chrysler Mech, air conditioning specialist. He has always told me to run the air with fresh air setting for the first 4 -5 minutes to remove / eliminate the formation of condensation in the vents. Then, switch setting to recirculate and there should not be an issue.. Sounds like that is exactly what is happening,
  16. One month old, 3.6L with 700 kms. On initial startup the engine seems to be a lot noisier for about 5 - 7 seconds. I'm not talking about the brief higher RPMs noise on start up this is a vibration etc... But, only happens on initial startup. All starts afterwards are normal. My wife even looks at me funny when this occurs
