I've had it with this 2011 Journey and lack of service! (LONG POST)
Journey_SeXT replied to Dre's topic in Owner Impressions
Very sorry to hear that the Journey has been a big disappointment so far as mine has been great. I would strongly suggest that you change to another dealership to do your repairs as the one you are currently using seems to be the main source of your problem. -
Blah, Blah, Blah....it gets very tiresome reading crap like this. I can only say that I have been very satisfied with my DJ and haven't regretted the purchase to this day. Now, the dealer that I bought it from......that's another story.

2late4u....check out the link I posted in this thread http://www.dodgejour...-36-l-journeys/ it will give you all the torque specs so you don't overtighten the oil filter cap.

Same here, i never paid attention to any oil change reminders on all my vehicles as I am always on top of the service maintenance required. It's just annoying that i have to keep going back to the owners manual to read up on how to turn the reminder off.

Journey or what?.................
Journey_SeXT replied to erbch's topic in Buying, Leasing, Ordering & Competing Products
Well it's a good thing that you chose the Journey over the Rondo cuz that vehicle IMO could give the Pontiac Aztec a run for it's money in design style. Congrats and enjoy your new Dodge! -
I switched over to synthetic and use whatever synthetic oil is on sale (Pennzoil, Quakerstate, Castrol and/or Valvoline). As far as which is the best oil to use that is entirely up to you. All synthetic oils are good to use as long as it meets Chrysler MS-6395 specs and has the API stamp. You also want to use a good quality filter like the Mopar filter with your synthetic oil change.

Here's what the owner's manual says for 2011's... C&P Oil Change Required Your vehicle is equipped with an engine oil change indicator system. The “Oil Change Required” message will flash in the EVIC display for approximately 10 seconds after a single chime has sounded to indicate the next scheduled oil change interval. The engine oil change indicator system is duty cycle based, which means the engine oil change interval may fluctuate dependent upon your personal driving style. Unless reset, this message will continue to display each time you cycle the ignition to the ON/RUN position. End of C&P

If it is dried up then clay barring should do the trick.

Thanks for the update!

2011 Dodge Journey Pentastar fuel economy
Journey_SeXT replied to Defender007's topic in Fuel Mileage
If your premium gas contains no ethanol then that would explain the better fuel economy along with your driving habits. -
What's the concern???? Seems no different than any other manufacturers warranty including imports.

2011 Brakes and Rotors Under Warranty?
Journey_SeXT replied to SueBOhio's topic in Brake, Chassis & Suspension
You are in no way obligated to use the dealership to change your brakes. As Dodge cares mentioned in his post keep your receipts just in case if the warranty is extended to 2011 Journey's. -
13,000 KM before first oil change??
Journey_SeXT replied to caperinmuskoka's topic in Owner Impressions
Waiting until 25,000 km's is total crap. It's unfortunate that they would say something like that as it makes them sound pretty idiotic. You can use it anytime and will suffer no consequences......check out some myth busters here: http://www.mobiloil....tics/Myths.aspx other oil companies have the same posted on their websites as well. I do agree that you should not go with 0-20 and stick with the recommended viscosity in your owners manual. -
If you go to Walmart they have the Zerex HOAT coolant by Valvoline....good stuff! You can read more here: http://www.valvoline.com/products/brands/zerex/antifreeze/42

If your looking for traction in snow then go with snow tires instead and leave the Kumho's for spring, summer and beginning of fall when traction is really not an issue. Last winter when my wife slid into the curb damaging the wheel bearing that was what I did and I can tell you that the Hankook i-pikes I put on it was worth every penny! Great traction that you will never get from an all-seasonal tire. I don't know if your model comes with 17" tires like mine but the tire shop I dealt with went with the 16" tires which saved me some coin.

You can read Hankook Optimo review from consumers here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/reviews/brands.jsp?tireMake=Hankook

How did you manage that? I thought that when the FOB was left in the car the doors will not lock.

The SXT comes with the 6 cylinder engine while the SE is a 4.....that alone would be a huge difference in cost.
