  1. 2011 all wheel drive 3.6L 33,000 miles A few months ago I started to notice that our DJ when running around town < 35 mph the transmission would shift right up to 5th or 6th gear and hang onto that gear. The motor would start to lug and you can hear a slight noise from underneath. It takes a healthy stab on the peddle to get it to downshift but then the transmission goes right back to the higher gears. It is so annoying that I started to shift it manually when running around town I never go higher than 4th and that works great. I wish we had a button we could press and override the top 2 gears when we want. Has anyone else noticed this and do think one of the programming changes might resolve it. I don't really remember it acting like this when it was newer. I have though about disconnecting the battery and letting everything reset but so far I haven't done that Thoughts anybody? Thanks Niles
  2. This past Saturday the light came on again. I got home, shut it down and checked the oil and it was full. I restarted and the check engine came on and when I checked the oil pressure info screen it showed zero. I called the dealer and they gave me the 800# to call Dodge customer service and had it towed to the dealer. Monday they worked on it and it was pumping oil and the codes set were both oil pressure related. They put on a new oil pressure switch and gave it back to me. It is fine so far. Niles.
  3. I have to recant...Now that I am driving the Journey full time my in-city milage is only in the 14 Niles
  4. Took it in today. No codes were present. They flashed the TSB referenced above...we will see!! Thanks Niles
  5. When I go into the info screen it shows the pressure to be around 30 at idol, warm engine and it increases as the rpm increases. It was around 80lbs when it was cold. I'll call the service department. Thanks
  6. Yesterday morning and this morning the oil pressure light has come on. I checked the oil level and it is just above the "safe" mark on the dipstick. The oil has about 3K miles on it. Anybody else have this happen? I assume this would throw a code, looks like another trip to the dealer. Edit...2011 Main Street, V6 with 21000 miles Thanks
  7. I had ours in for the clunk on Monday and the service department did the TSB that reprograms the transmission So far after 2 days I haven't had any clunks.
  8. Sorry, forgot to report back. I finally got a hold of customer care and we filed a claim and went through the process and was rewarded a reimbursement of the whole bill less $50 for deductable. We got a check directly from Dodge.
  9. They gave me the 992-1997. I just tried it again and got a busy from my work phone so I thought maybe there is an issue with it so I tried my cell and it went through. Now i have to figure out what is wrong with the work phone system Thanks DodgeCares
  10. We just joined this group of 2011 owners with brake problems. We just had our front rotors and pads replaced yesterday at the dealer and they were NOT covered under any warranty. The car has 20,400 miles which is way too soon to have bad rotors, IMHO. They gave us an 800# to call but it just rings busy but I'll keep trying..
  11. We picked up our Journey yesterday and they replaced the front rotors and pads. The invoice was $343. We were give an 800# to call and complain but it just rings busy.
  12. Our 2011 is driven easy and it is going in tomorrow 8.1.12 for a really bad vibration while braking. I know it is a warped rotor problem but at 20,000 miles it shouldn't be happening. A person I work with has already had their front brakes done on their 2011 Journey and it was not covered under warranty.
  13. Well this ended up where I thought it would...very expensive. My wife dislikes this car so much I don't see here wanting to spend 1100 bucks. I t will be interesting to see if anybody actually does the conversion.
  14. My wife drives our 2011 Journey but back in the summer I had it once and I accelerated hard from a standing stop but the tongue steer was so bad I had to back off...has anyone else experienced this? Her car is the V6 (pentastar) and AWD. One of her previous cars was an Acura MDX with a big v6, front wheel drive with the rear drive on demand and it didn't do this. I thought it was pretty scary and haven't tried it again. Thoughts? Thanks
  15. We had the no sound problem and the amp had to be replaced. Service claims it was caused by something spilled around the front seat. I'm somewhat concerned on what will happen this winter if snow from someones boots gets kicked up under the seat.
