  1. I posted my brake problems just prior to your post . . . I was told I needed new brakes and rotors as well. I drive a 2011 with 33,000 miles on it. If this was the first year with this problem, I might have some sympathy for Dodge. Since it is the 3rd year, and has included an upgrade/update on their braking system, I'm less inclined to feel sorry for them. If they would just offer a resolution to this problem . . . . An extended warranty is a band-aid, and a short-term selective one at that. Own up to the error, fix the quality of the parts, and make the customer happy!
  2. Thanks for the info. I will definately call the Customer Assistance Center. If they are not able to help me, does the repair have to be repaired at a Chrysler dealership (if they do extend the brake warranty)? I have a mechanic I have always used that will do it for much less . . . Thanks again for the tips!
  3. I've seen a lot of info out here about brakes and rotors on the Journeys. I have a 2011 Journey with 33,000 miles on it and was just told that it needs new brakes and rotors all around. They tell me it is NOT under warranty, that it is a normal wear-and-tear item. This just doesn't sound right to me, and I'm not sure who to talk to or what to say . . . . Anyone out there have an opinion on this? Should it be covered under warranty? They are asking me to pay $863 to get it fixed.
  4. Mine has done this and it is embarassing! I have found mine does not clunk it if I pause after shifting from park to reverse, then pausing again from reverse to neutral, etc, etc. It's a pain, and maybe I am just lucky, but it never clunks if I shift slowly. Worth a try . . .
  5. I have a 2011 Journey and just had to have the seal replaced on mine as well. Mine has 30,000 miles on it. NOT happy about this . . .
  6. I drive a 2011 Journey with 30,000 miles on it. I found a spot on my garage floor under the rear end, and took it to the local dealership. I have been told that it is an "input seal in the differential". Has anyone else had this problem? How serious of a problem is this? With my car being under warranty for only 6,000 more miles, I'm starting to get concerned about the long-term reliabillity! Anyone have thoughts on this? . . . .
  7. Hi there -- I thought for a while that mine was a dummy switch too. The way I discovered it worked was in total darkness, with the interior lights off and the door open. Otherwise, the change is so minimal that you can't tell the difference.
  8. Thanks for your quick reply! I have tried pressing the unlock quickly, I have also tried a pause between presses. I wonder if only certain vehicles came with that feature. If you have any other suggestions for me, please let me know!
  9. I purchased my 2011 Journey Mainstreet about a week ago. The Owner's Manual says you can unlock the vehicle, and then roll the windows down by pressing the unlock button on the key fob a second time. I have done this, and I can't get it to work. I have researched this and cannot find an answer. I lock the car with the remote, and then press unlock once to unlock the the doors, and again (press and hold) to roll down the windows. It doesn't work. Every time I try pressing the key fob again, it tries to unlock the doors again. Any suggestions? I would really like to have this feature on my vehicle! Also, I have the same problem with the DDL (daytime driving lights) on my car that many people seem to have. The UConnect says they are on, but regardless of what gear you are in, there are no lights. Going to try taking it to the dealership and see what they say. If you have any suggestions regarding this, let me know those as well! Thanks for you help!
