  1. I must agree with you Nabil that this site does post alot of negative reviews about the DJ which is pretty sad since I do like my vehicle alot. Thankfully, I didn't come across this site until after I bought my 2011 Journey, it most likey would have discouraged me from buying one. The Journey has been an absolutley outstanding vehicle thus far and that comes from someone who owned numerous Honda's in the past! Perhaps Chrysler should have customer service representatives patrol this site more frequently to help DJ owners with their issues......the chevy forum I also visit has CS representatives assisting frustrated owners with their issues. It's a little extra GM does to let their buyers know that they do somewhat care. Anyhow enough of my rant.....Although my V6 is very quite and smooth when idling at traffic lights your problem doesn't really sound too serious to worry about unless it feels like a rough 4 cyl. engine idle then you may want to ask your dealership why is it so rough when it is brand new. I'd suggest waiting until your first oil change to see if things improve.
  2. As long as you are using oil and filters that meet Chrysler standards and you have a copy of all the receipts there should be no issues having your warranty voided.
  3. Here is a copy & paste of what I found regarding the P0660 Dodge code: P0660 DODGE - Manifold Tune Solenoid Circuit Condition Possible causes - IMTV signal circuit open, shorted to power or ground. - Damaged IMTV actuator. - Damaged ECM. When is the code detected? Dual plane intake system-Control solenoid failure Symptoms - Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) P0660 DODGE Description The Intake Manifold Tuning Valve (IMTV) system is monitored for failure during continuous, key ON engine OFF or key ON engine running self-test. The test fails when the signal on the monitor pin is more or less than an the expected calibrated range
  4. Glad to hear that the oil change was a success! I too was a little surprized by the 13,000 km oil change interval as stated in the owners manual.....no way am I ever going near that mileage. Did you go with a synthetic or stick with the conventional motor oil? BTW thanks for the filter info at CT. I got to check it out in my area and see if they have those filters also. On their website the only filter I see listed for the 2011 3.6L Journey is the cabin air filter but I'll talk to one of their parts people and see if they stock them in the back.
  5. You are way too polite and nice......I'd be fuming mad if they said they misplaced my paperwork! Sounds like they are trying to give you the run around until you give up or your warranty expires. There is no way in hell that your oil consumption is normal and they know it.
  6. If the 2012's design, dimension & weight is the same as the previous years who are having issues then that would probably be considered as an admission of guilt from Chrysler to increase the brake size to avoid any future issues.
  7. Wow, 3 brake jobs at only 28,000km is ridiculous! I would say that if you would really like to prove your point you should have records of previously owned vehicles and show when the brake repairs were done on them. If they were replaced at the standard amount of mileage then that would shoot down their theory of "it is your braking style" and prove that the brakes are inadequate for a vehicle of that size.
  8. Thread is right here: http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/index.php?/topic/2418-2011-honeycomb-grille/
  9. Thank you for mentioning the transmission. My wife and I were ready on buying the Ford Escape until I googled a few reviews and found they had a chronic problem with their transmissions.......my neighbour who owns one said his was repaired twice. No thanks, don't want to go anywhere near a big expensive headache like that!
  10. I'm not aware of the issue you are having but you could try capturing the problem on video so the dealership can't say that it didn't happen.
  11. I know that the 09's have brake issues and that must suck large for their owners. I don't know how handy you are but if you are somewhat handy and you are out of warranty then there are a ton of tutorials on youtube on how to replace rotors and pads yourself and it doesn't seem like the impossible to do on your own. You can upgrade to a better quality of brakes for a lot less money that the dealer or even the joe blow mechanic charges and not give the satisfaction to the Dodge service department making any extra cash off their flawed design.
  12. Is that 42,000 miles/km or $42,000??? If it is miles/km then I really feel for you and all your issues you've been having with your Dodge but I feel your being a little too harsh on the manufacturuer and letting the salesperson off the hook who sold you the lemon.......that is the chance you take when your buying a used vehicle. You inherit someone elses problems. If it is $42,000 you spent for the SE and that is the 4 cylinder model then you've overspent and I can see your anger and frustration when the problems you are having occur. Hope you find better fortune with your Dodge Journey in future days.
  13. Well, I finally got the update after the repairs......Bramfrank was correct that the lovely wife hit the curb and the wheel bearing was shot! My son confessed of her curb incident last winter with the original all season tires. The bearings have been replaced and all is good again.....so happy that it is running like brand new again! Thank you to all who posted their comments to this thread. :)
  14. Very good reply...I will have it checked out and post any results. Thanks!
  15. Hello All, I'm still very new to this site so please excuse me if i have started a new thread in the wrong section. Anyhow, I am the proud owner of a 2011 Dodge Journey SXT with the 3.6L Pentastar engine, which my lovely wife drives 95% of the time.......I've noticed yesterday while driving on the highway that once the vehicle hits 80km/h that a vibration or almost a sound like the wheels is rubbing against something occurs. It is not a loud sound but you definitely know there is something not right and is quite embarrising when you have someone other than your family member in the vehicle. I also noticed that it occurs when steering left, even with the slightest movement to that direction, but no vibration when steering right. It's the 80 km/h to 90 km/h that seems to be at the worst of this issue and higher or lower speeds doesn't seem to be an issue at all.....weird. At first I thought it may be the wheels out of balance but the wife says that the same occurs when the all season tires are on too so the possibilityof both tires out of balance are highly unlikey. I've read the threads in this section of Journey's in the past that had issues with air in the power steering fluid and was vibrating when turning left.....I hope this is the problem so I can have this issue put to rest asap but my gut feeling says that I will have to deal with a crappy service department that will say they have no clue why this is happening. I also read that there is a recall for steering wheel issues with the 2011's that I haven't contacted my dealer yet, maybe that might be the cure or is that wishful thinking. Now, what I would like to know is if there are any 2011 owners that have experienced this issue also or am I doomed to hear the famous phrase from the service department "i've never heard of this problem before." :( Thank you in advance to anyone who replys with any insight to this thread and Iove this site.
  16. Thanks bramfrank for the E85 insight for the province of Quebec .....I had a feeling it wasn't offered in your province just like Ontario but I thought it was info that might help someone else who is using that type of fuel and wondering why the fuel consumption would be poor.
  17. Hi defender007, It wasn't mentioned so far throughout this entire thread and it may or may not apply to your situation but if you are using E85 fuel you can probably expect a 30% reduction in fuel mileage. If this is the case your fuel mileage would be just about right.
  18. Merry Chistmas (Seasons Greetings) and a Happy New Year to all! :beerchug:
  19. I know that I am responding to an old thread but that is one great finish PTM!
  20. What's the color of your chariot? Mine is the bright silver.
  21. Toronto, Ontario, Canada (centre of the universe LOL!!!!) 2011 Journey SXT - Bright Silver
