    Come this monday morning my 2010 SXT goes in for a complete front end rebuild.

    Although it passes inspection there is play in every piece and there has been an annoying clunk from the moment I move to the moment I stop.

     

    Having only owned this for a few weeks now I had in the contract to purchase the dealer has been dragging its' butt on actually fixing the problem.

     

    I have a big road trip planned soon and again from dragging their ass on this issue I am taking it to my trusted mechanic to rebuild the front end so I can be ready to go.

    the dealer wants to piece meal this to remove the clunk with a one part at a time so they can live up to their end of the deal.

    The estimated bill is just under $1700cdn all in.

    The only thing that is giving me any comfort in this is that all parts & labour have a life time warranty

     

    And yes I am planning to take action against the dealer for the cost of this since they are not living up to their end of the agreement.

     

    I'll update the thread once it's done and report on the results.

    The dealership has asked to keep the vehicle overnight and tomorrow to see if they can replicate the problem.  They realize that the vehicle does have a problem, they just want the technician to experience it first hand.  I told them that I was happy that they were interested in solving the issue for us.  The vehicle worked perfect for the technician today (just my luck).  It is intermittent.  It does it one day, then doesn't do it for 2 or 3 days, then does it again ..........

    I will let you know what they find.  Hopefully we can get it fixed.

    We love our Dodge Journey and we really want it fixed properly.  I hope that they find the issue.  It is probably just a matter of time now.  So, ...............we wait.

    He was thinking transmission.  I spoke to a mechanic and he said that it was likely not the transmission, but more than likely a differential/transfer case issue, but he was totally  unfamiliar with Dodge vehicles.

     

    I will keep you posted.  I pray to God that it is not something expensive.

    Just called chrysler and spoke to dodge side of operations.  They didnt sound to helpful nor did it seem to care to them.  Im jist amazed that a 2016 rt has this noise ive had many cars my infamous 2001 mitsubishi galant never made that noise and i used to rip ebrake and slid everywhere it was my play car in the snow never ever made that noise.  Shocks lasted a lot longer also and i drove that thing with no care.  Now my dodge i drive that thing like new borns are in the back and having a r/t the suspension is supposed to be stronger i call bullshit i only do highway driving with this thing highly disappointed never will i buy another dodge chrysler jeep ever again.  Sadly starting to feel like im dumping 30k on junk
