I live on a dirt road Jack Williams (where I got the tires) said the rear alignment was off due to the pot holes and dirt road. As for replacing all 4 tires yes I did and even had the alignment done 2 weeks ago. When the lights came on I drove straight home and parked it so I didn’t check the cruise control. Calling the dealership where I purchased the vehicle tomorrow (hoping they are open). The car is still under warranty so hopefully they will fix it.

Hello all! I just purchased my 2016 Dodge Journey R/T and I looove it! I’m having an issue, however, with my interior lights. They do not turn on when I (1) turn the ignition off and/or (2) open the drivers door. They do work fine when using the key fob to unlock the car, or when I open any of the other doors. Any ideas on what the issue could be? I’ve checked all of the obvious things... Looked through the manual, checked settings in UConnect and can’t find anything, dimmer switch is not the problem... Thanks in advance!

Hi Rtlifeisthelifeforme, We're sorry to hear you're having a hard time with your interior lights. If you're thinking you'd like to have this looked at by the dealer, let us know. We're available via direct message and can help with this process.

    Hello!

I've had my 2013 Journey (2.4L) since new, and she's been a great car.  With just over 100K on her, I've only had to replace the thermostat housing...and a few batteries.  Which brings me to my problem.  I've replaced 3 batteries in the last 3 years.  Now 1, even 2, I could write off as duds...but now I'm looking for another issue.  So here's the troubleshooting I've done:  Charged the battery (looks good); Isolated the negative terminal and hooked up my multimeter...what I see is a 2 A draw for about 2-3 minutes (I understand thats normal when the battery is freshly reconnected), but after those 3ish minutes, there is a steady draw of 0.5 A....WAY to much.  Anyway, I started pulling fuses, and when I pulled the 'abs valves' fuse, it drops to 0.001 A.  I repeated this 3 times...same results.  Now the question....where should I start looking from here?  I bought a .pdf service manual, but it's fuse diagram is different that the one on the fuse box cover, so I'm going to have to assume its garbage (glad I wasted that money).  Any advice or common trouble areas with this specific system?  Is it possibly mislabeled on the fuse box?  I would think its more likely the radio or proxy-key system causing an issue....  I do know there is a recall involving water shorting out something in the abs system, and I did take it in to the dealer for that service...but could they have failed to actually perform it?

Thanks for any advice and help!  I've been scouring the web trying to find more info, but have come up empty time and again (aside from the thousands of people with a similar problem, but seems likes its always a different cause).

I recently purchased a 2013 Dodge Journey. I quickly noticed only the driver window switch needs to be pulled up for the window to go down, and pressed down for the window to go up. This is the opposite of how all the other switches work. So, did Dodge make it this way? Or did the previous owner do something to the control panel?

    Thanks!

Hi rgJourneyFL, We certainly understand why this may be concerning. We kindly recommend having your dealer inspect this concern for you as they are in the best position to assist. If you do work with your dealer, we would be more than happy to provide you with additional support.

Hi Rob thanks for your reply! Apparently it was an issue relating to the battery  It apparently had to be "reset" or acclimatized to the vehicle! Starts and runs fine now!?

Probak118, I do not have a touchscreen, or the u-connect devices. I have looked through the manual and tried every programming option (that I found) for door locks.

DodgeCares, no I have not taken it to a dealer yet. I consider myself fairly good with cars and mechanics. I am very troubled that I cannot figure this one out! I've checked for broken/loose wires, bad fuses, relays, etc. Is it possible, like I was told, that maybe the BCM needs to be flashed?

Anyone, please give me suggestions. Thank you.

Well, unfortunately, the phone number provided by DodgeCares wasn't all that helpful. The people at that number said they don't have anything to do with the Dodge Journey Nav system. They did however connect him with the people at a place called Dodge Uconnect who tried over the phone to help him out. They went through a few procedures, none of which worked. They ended up opening up a service ticket with the local dealer for him to try to get them to fix it. I think you know where that is headed. In the mean time, I am going to prepare to try a couple of other things to get it talking in English again.

Short answer is that it would be quite inconvenient to pull the fuse on average the 5 times a day I turn my car off and it’s on the passenger side. I really feel Dodge should take some accountability for this issue considering many have this exact issue.

This certainly sounds like a frustrating owning experience, Missjenn713. Have you had the chance to bring your Journey to a dealer recently for assistance? If not, we do recommend scheduling an appointment to have their team look at your vehicle. If you'd like help from our team at any point, please let us know.

    Hello all,

i have a 2014 journey and I only seem to get this noise after the car has been sitting, and then go to back out of the garage. I dont seem to notice it when driving, turning, going over any bumps or anything that all other forums have described. I cant seem to find anything wrong. Could the brake caliper be sticking, hot onto the rotor and then "popping" to unstuck itself after cooling and sitting?Has anyone had something similar? I hate to just start throwing parts at something if someone else has found the cure.

    Thanks!

I tried to start my 2015 Dodge Journey. The engine did not start the lights on the dash flickered. The Dodge did make a clicking sound and then would shut off completely. While trying to start the Dodge the brake was hard and the light on the push start would be lit on RUN but the car would not be on. I do want to mention that the parking assistance light would te=urn on it had a picture of a cone ( I have never seen this light on). I replaced the starter, we checked and recharge the battery. After this was done the lights work normal the parking assistance light is not on anymore but the Dodge will not start. Please advise, what else can I try?

I went to unlock my journey from inside my house, got outside and the car doors were still locked. I tried again and wasn’t unlocking. The lights on the car were not even flashing. At first I thought it may be the key fob battery, replaced it and it didn’t work.
now here comes the fun part. I pull out my mechanical key to unlock the door, key goes in and will turn both ways but will not unlock the car door. I’ve never used the key and bought the car used. So now I’m locked out of my car, I have googled with no solution and lost on what to do.

Welcome...  I still really enjoy my 2011.  88,000+ miles.  I had to replace the transmission,  but that was covered by my lifetime warranty.  For the most part, it still drives like the day I brought it home.  Still gets 25mpg at high elevation with a speed limit of 75mph.  Taking it on a road trip tomorrow.   Had to choose between my 2011 DJ or my 2019 Tacoma.   No contest,  the Tacoma barely gets 21mpg on the highways here!  Enjoy.

    Peace.

My daughter wanted a Jeep Wrangler so we bought her a Dodge Journey .... lol. That  went over ok as the Journey seems to be a great car. But she longed for a Jeep still and we were blessed to find a good deal on one. So now I’m driving the Journey and I could not be happier. I don’t understand all the negative reviews .... mine runs well and is very comfortable. What can I say I like it just fine !!!!

Thank you for the suggestion. It was just dropped off this evening for a mechanic to look at tomorrow. I will see if there are any new findings. I’ve just been hopeful someone out there has answers or a solution. The dealership seemed clueless but the place it’s at now is a local shop. We will see but I’ll question the sensor being a factor.

Hello I am having a bit of an issue with my rear heat in my 2016 dodge journey crossroad’s, it is the V-6 and the issue that I am having is that when trying to turn my heat on in the rear I have noticed that the floor vents work just fine and blow warm air as they should but when I switch it to the top ceiling vents it will only blow cool airFrom the ceiling. I know about the SYNC button on the head unit. I have had this vehicle for several years now and the heat has just recently stopped working in the rear vents

Hi...I took my car for an oil change this morning (to the dealership).  While the car was on the hoist, they checked the underside and noticed oil leakage but couldn't determine where it was coming from.  It was dripping onto the CV axle from somewhere above (Passenger side).  There is never a stain on the driveway, so it's a slow enough leak and is (I'm assuming) burning off while I drive.  It's still concerning nonetheless, and since it was an express lube within the Dodge dealership, they do not investigate the problems and would need to book a service appt.

I have already replaced the oil cooler, so I'm doubtful it's coming from there. Where else can it be leaking from?  They mentioned that if they have issues locating the leak, they'd need to wash the engine and then check in intervals (depending on how small the leak is). This car never ceases to amaze me $$$$

    Engine - 3.6L

I am very late to this post! I hope someone will have some new advice. I bought a 2010 Journey about a year ago. We love this car and everything has been great. According to a vin check, all recalls have been completed.

It started with, for about a month, that ALL the doors would unlock with the key fob except for the drivers side door. Now it is the exact opposite; ONLY the driver side door unlocks! It doesn't matter if you use the key fob or the master door switch. I replaced the battery in the fob and the master door switch, still same problem. After replacing the master door switch and that not solving the problem, I was told that it is probably an issue with the BCM (body control module).

I hope I can find some help here. It really sucks having to unlock the door manually when you have kids and sports and not to mention, CAN'T USE THE HATCH AT ALL!!!

Have you brought this concern to your preferred dealer's attention recently for diagnosis, 2010DJRT. If not, we suggest scheduling an appointment at your earliest convenience. If you'd like assistance, our team is just a private message away.

I have a 2012 Dodge Journey. The speedometer just starts to go crazy, and the ABS, BRAKE, and Traction control light comes on and off. It has been happening for about 2 months and started to get worse. The headlights dim and radio screen will turn off and on. Sometimes the radio will say audio off. About three days ago the car wouldnt start. We jumped it and it started. We got a new battery put in. It is still doing it but hasn't messed with the radio yet. We changed the alternator about a year a go. We do have an engine light on and have been told it's for a vvt valve sensor. Does anyone have a clue as to what could be causing this.

I bought a 2019 Journey 2 months ago and the stereo is pissing me off. it's the 8" touch screen. It will not read my iPhone when using Spotify when connected via USB. Also very sporadic on whether or not it wants to connect to Bluetooth. So stereo just sucks all around. I came from a fully loaded 2015 charger rt, bought the journey for family reasons, so this stereo is annoying me so much. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Can I upgrade the stereo? Anything?
