I have a 2014 Dodge Journey and just within the last two weeks or so my bluetooth is not working.  When I click on the phone icon the screen just freezes and won't allow me to connect a phone it just says please wait and never changes.  If i go into settings and try and access the phone settings it doesn't do anything either.  Anyway to fix this?

I have an appointment over Christmas break, as soon as it’s fixed I will post what the problem was. Mine dim to and from work everyday, it’s not bad but it’s not right.

    Hi jimmyz,

There is a TSB related to the concern you are describing on some Dodge Journeys:

    "NUMBER: 08-097-17

    GROUP: 08 - Electrical

    DATE: September 28, 2017

SUBJECT: Flash: BCM Diagnostic and System Improvements

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA and EMEA.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before August 28, 2017 (MDH 0828XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION: The customer may describe the headlamps flicker while operating at night. This condition may be more prevalent after the bulb(s) have been replaced with an aftermarket bulb."

Your dealership will be able to identify if this TSB applies to your vehicle or you can send us a PM with your VIN and I can check for you as well!

Hi, I was looking for some suggestions. I have a 2016 Dodge Journey. I pulled into my driveway and it shut off on it's own. Now it starts up and then dies within a few seconds. I had it towed to a shop and they said the diagnostics show it is misfiring. They said they would have to start going down a list of possible problems and it was $130 an hour. I had it towed home. My next step is to town it 30 miles to the dealership and minimum $180 to diagnose. Any ideas what it may be that I can try fixing myself?

    Hi Jennifer Ballance,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit a certified dealership for further diagnosis, I'd be happy to offer assistance. Please send us a private message with your VIN and let us know.

2016 journey - There's a clunk that happens on the front driver side when I hit a bump while turning right. Typically happens when weight is being applied to that area. Example, braking while turning right into a parking lot and hitting a bump on that (driver) side. Potentially ruling out struts and mounts since it doesn't happen when going straight, only when weight is being applied to that side.

What do you guys think? Doesn't sounds like a hollow clunk from a balljoint. Doesn't sound like a wheel bearing since I'm not getting any humming while driving. Maybe a tie rod? Lower control arm? You guys would know better than me. Have an apt in the morning for the dealership but I'm still curious on your thoughts in case they can't find it/replicate the noise. Only 35k miles on it btw.

    Thanks

My 1 month old 2017 Journey Crossroads 6 cylinder has the gas tank problem. Will only fill to three quarters of a tank and the you have to pump super slow to fill up the rest of the way.  The gas cap indicator on the dash also stays illuminated.   Going to take it to the dealer this week.

I have seen a few threads with the transmission shudder when coming to a stop. Not horribly bad, but can certainly feel it. It feels that the vehicle almost stopped while in second gear and then all of a sudden needs to shift down one more time to 1st gear. 2017 Crossroads AWD 12k miles on it. I was under impression that those issues were fixed in prior years. SW updates and such.

I will monitor if it keeps happening and contact the dealer. It's wife's car and I didn't know, that was going on. Any advice is welcome.

I have a 2013 Dodge Journey, which is right now sitting at dealership where I purchased this vehicle.  The engine block is warped which I am being told was due to my heater hose.  Was driving the car when smelled something funny, looked down and temp gauge went from middle to hot, I pulled over as soon as able, saw heater hose blown at elbow.    Am now being told they will not honor the warranty due to the hose causing the problem, and since hose not under warranty will not fix.  The vehicle has a 5 year 100,000 warranty.  Car is only 4 years old, still under warranty.  Anyone else have this problem.  And would a blown heater hose cause head gasket to blow and ultimately warp the block?

    Hi klp087,

While the members of our team are not mechanically trained, we can look into your warranty parameters further for you and see if we can provided any additional information. I have taken my 2017 dodge journey in 3 times with the same problem my head lights flicker.. They tell me they can't find the problem and there is nothing they can do about it. They gave us a 1800 number to call to have someone come out and check our car( this is not true) the only way they will come out is your car has air bag issues or caught fire . Has anyone else have this problem with there car? I can only notice it when no street lights around complete dark and dealer won't give it a recall because not enough people have complained about it, so they say.

Geez, I did read the post and geez, wanted to make sure I completely understood before dropping $500 to have the plugs changed. Stay off the thread if it's getting painful for you.

For those that aren't as moronic and tried to help, thank you.

I did have the plugs changes today but sadly to no avail, which is what the dealer told me before changing. They also checked the driveshaft which seems fine, as do the tires and wheels.

They can feel it but can't diagnose it, and that's now two Dodge dealers. They also said a bad torque converter would throw a code but there is zero showing.

I still think it is transmission related as there's a hard thump at times when accelerating from a standstill and I believe those two things are related.

    Hello,

I have a 2016 Dodge Journey.  It does not have the automatic setting on it, it only has the on/off button but no auto on it, I have the model with the small screen.  I recently was driving and my heat popped on I turned it off and it keep coming on by itself it did this several times, I took it to the Dodge dealership and they told me I need a replacement on/off knob so they ordered one and replaced it.  Its been about 2 weeks and today I'm driving and the heat pops on by itself again like 5 times, so apparently they did not fix my issue.  I heard several other people were heaving this issue as well has anyone else figured out how to fix it? I have an appointment to drop my car off at dodge again Monday but if they are just guessing then I don't think it will be fixed right.

Anyone with a Journey have electrical problems?  About 5 weeks ago, after a long drive to Wyoming (about 2 hours each way ... highway), my battery died.  Now, I'm a 'girl' but it has always been my training that a long highway drive charges the battery/alternator.  The dealership checked out the car for 4 days and charged the battery and returned it to me.  This past Weds ... got SAME exact message ... Key not detected and a clicking noise. Then a couple of hours later it was DEAD.  AAA couldn't jump start it.  Car would start with cables on it but once cables were disconnected ... car stopped immediately.  Towed it to dealership 1pm Weds .... and they have not called with any info. as of today, Fri. 11/17th.  Would love anyone's input.  Oh ... 2015 DJ  has 5,700 miles on it.  YES .... 5,700 .... NOT any higher.  I bought it new Feb. 2015.

little back story I have had many battery problems I'm on my 3rd battery the dealer said they didn't know why the battery kept going dead and at one point told me not to use my heated seats.  anyways reading about the charger recall made me think maybe the alternator was/is the problem all along ?

Recently I started having a weird problem with a Uconnect 4.3/RHA system, specifically with hands free calling. Making outgoing calls works fine but when answering incoming calls I am often unable to hear the caller through the system. While investigating the problem today I found out that using the Phone button on the steering wheel to answer the incoming calls often causes the system to transfer the call back to the mobile device. I'm using an Android 7 phone and I'm unable to tell if it is the phone itself or the Uconnect system that is causing the problem.

Has anyone else experienced this type of problem and do you have any advice on correcting it? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Spektyr,

We would recommend deleting the Bluetooth pairing from both your phone and your Uconnect system and re-pairing them. If this doesn't help feel free to send us a PM for further assistance!

    Hi Guys,

New member here from Utah. Bought a "showroom" 2009 Journey R/T in March of this year with 42K miles on it. A Jaguar dealer in Detroit, MI had taken it in on trade on a new Jag. I found it online and flew to Detroit to pick it up and drove it back to Utah.

I have put approximately 10K on it since and have grown to like it a lot. It is a worthy addition to my MOPAR "fleet" which includes a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, a 2014 Chrysler 300, A 2016 Dodge Dart, and a 2016 Dodge Challenger.

    Now to my problem.

Yesterday while driving in town I made a medium acceleration start from a traffic signal and heard a loud clunking sound from the rear. Immediately heard and felt additional noises and what felt like lurches in the drive train....again from the rear. I stopped in a parking lot and checked under and around the car but could not see anything. The engine seemed to be running fine. I was three or ffour miles from home so decided to see if it would make it...which it did....clunking and lurching all the way.

I am totally unfamiliar with any all wheel drive system so don't have any idea what the problem may be except to assume there must be some type of a rear differential and perhaps it is "out".

Does anyone have an idea what I am up against? There is a small dealer here in town but I don't know anything about them. I am very familiar with a larger dealer 40 miles away and have confidence in them. I don't know whether to take a chance on the local guys or flat bed my Journey 40 miles to a larger dealer.

Any ideas or suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Quick question and need some serious help. Can't seem to find any info anywhere and the dodge service department wasn't much help either. Just bought a 2016 Dodge Journey with a 3.6L V6 DOHC 24V in the summer and love it. I have been driving it for two months now, and part of our buying deal was a hitch and install. Last week I finally got it installed, and as soon as I drove it off the lot, I noticed a big difference in how the vehicle felt and handle. I felt like it was pulling from the back and when I braked, I felt a shift of weight from the end to the front. I live on the side of a mountain, and it seems like its working hard to get up the hill, also seems pressure and weight on the breaks when I go downhill. In all honesty, it feels like I'm already towing something or like the e-break is on. When I brought this up to dodge service, they kind of looked at me funny but I swear I'm not crazy. My dad checked the e-break and seemed fine because it rolls on neutral no problem. I was getting something on the door fixed, and he checked everything over for me and seemed fine. Also said, there enough engine to tow so I shouldn't feel the hitch.

Has anyone had this issue when installing a hitch after you've already been driving around with it for a while. I found it super "peppy" and controlled well; now it feels sluggish and heavy. Please tell me I'm not crazy.

    Thanks!

    Hi grapeguy,

In an instance like this, it might be beneficial for you to request a ride-along with a tech at the dealership--that way you can drive them around and point out how the vehicle feels to you, and be sure they understand what you're talking about.
