2late4u got a reaction from jkeaton in NEW brakes .... NEW squeak ... damn.
i did my 2011 and didnt have no problems, hope you get it fixed. but check your pins and grease them as that has been suggested but as for using a anti-noise compound with wagner pads according to the paperwork that comes with the pads they say that will void their warranty dont know why but i use wagner all the time and have never used the compound and never had any problems with them good luck and report back..

Sounds like the calipers are not releasing all the way and one pad is barely making contact even though the brake is not pressed. Did you lubricate the guide pins?

The engine will not shut off unless you turn it off. The only exception to this involves the remote starter, which runs the engine 15 minutes and then times out. Otherwise, the engine should never shut off on its own unless done so by the driver. To do so otherwise could shut it down while driving, and that could have disasterous consequences as I'm sure you can imagine.

Hi Austin Scarano.....welcome to the forum!!!
As the others have already mentioned have the engine light checked out or have it taken to the dealer asap to avoid any further damage. Please report back with any news on what the issue was as it will help other members (including me) that may run into the same problem.

    2late4u got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in PSI ?
48 psi is really high and if that is when they are cold then when they heat up they will rise to 50 -51 psi . i have never heard of psi that high i always run around 36 -37 psi. true running that high will get you better mpg but you run the risk of having your tires ove-rinflated and risk having a blow out at hi-way speeds. and also your tires will wear out faster in the middle of the tire . with less traction during wet weather.its your choice as to what you want to do but i would let the psi down at least to 40-41 at the most...goood luck and keep it between the ditches.......

Don't....mess...with...the exhaust. It does NOTHING except make cabin noise. Nothing, Zip, Zilch, Nada....Could put tips and leave the mufflers alone and get the same look without the drone.

There are no 2015 Journeys being built. They are not even open for ordering yet. The only 2015 Chrysler product currently in production is the new 200.

The computer calculates your oil change interval based on the driving conditions you experience. Both my 2012 Avenger and my 2014 DJ have this feature and the interval is NEVER the same. I've gone as far as 8,000 miles on my Avenger (ok according to the manual) and as little as 5,000. The shorter cycle was in the winter when I'm sitting in traffic more due to shitty roads... The first oil change on my DJ was right around the 4,000 mile mark (winter)... I always use full synthetic Mobil 1 on all of my vehicles along with extended service oil filters.

dang i never ment anything is wrong, and was just correcting your post on the price quote i rec. but you do seem to be reacting quite strongly to a simple observation. but hey if you feel better now so much the better. also my one point of my orginal post was since i only kept my 2011 3 years buying a lifetime warranty might not be a great deal for me. as i said before sorry i ruffled any feathers and have a great day

I don't think anyone accused you of being underhanded... And even if you were getting a "kickback", who cares? I'd rather save a buck and have someone earn a living doing the work to save me the money anyway, and I'm sure others feel the same way. No need to let the fuzzies go! Welcome and thank you for bringing this wonderful deal to the forum (even though it's too late for me)!

It could be a software glitch that requires a system reset
of the TIPM and while it's nice to fix these things yourself
without a dealer visit I would say as it's a '14 DJ use the warranty.

2late4u got a reaction from 20blacktop14 in OEM backup camera?
i just called my local dealer and he wasnt aware of this part so i gave him the part number and my vin# and he called me back and said yes he wasnt aware of this,But yes it can be done and he said he would charge me 305 for the system and 90 for the install and since i am a chry. retiree i get 25% off of parts total cost should be about $365. so i told him to order it and will be about one week till i can have it in.. i told him that since most of the journeys on his lot didnt have the backup cam but had the 8.4 screen it should be a great upsell for his service dept, and he needs to adv. to his custermers. i have been trying since 2011 to get a rear cam back up sys. for this vec and the cheapset i had ever found was after market for 700 installed at a classic car store. but wanted a oem sys... this blog is really great for sharing ideas and for help... thanks for the tip spl147 i fgured for less than 90 id let the dealer do it you might want to price it with your local dealer also since you will have to pay him $50. to add the sales code ALOT EASIER and then comes with12/12k warrenty

Hah, you are correct on the viscosity of oil. I should've checked it out first that it does take 10W30. Also, I found that your vehicle recommends that you use mid-grade gasoline (89 octane) but you can use regular (87 octane)....good to know for anyone who owns a 2010 and hasn't cracked open their owners manual yet.
Car engines and motor oils from back in your dads days are not the same as the ones made now which make the engine flush unnecessary unless you are neglecting the regular maintenance or are having any sludge issues. It seems the oils you are using doesn't warrant the use of the flush. Even your owners manual on page 410 has the caution note:
CAUTION! Do not use chemical flushes in your engine oil as the chemicals can damage your engine. Such damage is not covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
