  1. 5.5 -5.9 quarts on avg..my 2014 takes 5.5 supposedly but not to the full line I just add an extra but till I reach the full line...syn oil 5 k limit on use,and always right on the mark, no oil usage as well
  2. o'reilly says 16 for the 3.6 eng not sure on the 4 cly eng any part store should be able to verify it for you
  3. thanks for the report back for others to learn from,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, also be aware the drivers door at the lower hinge their is a rubber boot for electrical wires that are prone to breaking or shorting out as well
  4. just type in 2019 journey blend door actuators replacement into YouTube. will give the locations and how to replace they are in a hard spot to get to so use OEM parts from the dealership
  5. could be a wire in the hatchback rubber boot in the upper left hand side since they are known to fray and or break from all the flexing they do,, very easy to check just open the hatch and gently slide the rubber boot from the metal hoping and hopefully you might see a bad wire ,,,just a thought along with the ground spots as well
  6. you tube will be your best bet and use the correct plugs as this isn't the easiest spark plug change to be honest I let my dealership do it as its only done 100 k also time for your coolant service along with your transmission service as well
  7. Just wondering on my arm rest the vinyl/leather part has a small crack starting in it on the top flat part, just wondering if or how that piece is attached to the door panel??? wondering if it is screwed to the whole panel or is formed in one whole piece and not a separate arm rest???
  8. Just remember when buying parts the cheap usually comes out the most expensive...................
  9. I only used the dealership for both of my trans service but they use the silicone from what I could see
  10. Its possible you didn't get the battery post tight when installing it.......that said what was the first problem you had before you started changing parts..... the battery? the starter? also possible bad connection at the starter and also bad contact at the grounds as well..make sure the connectors for each are still okay and not broken... we had one person asking questions about their journey not starting and when we said check the connections they said oh no they were good after a while they came back and said ya the battery connector was loose
  11. I have a 2014 with around 172k on it had the trans fuild changed along with the filter at around 60k and then again at around 120k..knock on wood but still shifting good
  12. Common Causes of C212A Dodge Faulty alternator Weak or failing battery Loose or corroded battery connections Faulty voltage regulator Wiring or harness issues Symptoms of C212A Dodge Engine stalling or rough idling Dimming or flickering lights Difficulty starting the vehicle Malfunctioning electronic components How to Fix C212A Dodge Perform a thorough inspection of the vehicle's electrical system, including the alternator, battery, and wiring. Test the alternator and battery to ensure they are functioning within specifications. Check and clean battery connections to ensure a good electrical connection. Replace any faulty components such as the alternator, battery, or voltage regulator if necessary. Clear the DTC and reset the system to monitor for any recurring issues.
  13. I would take it to a parts store and have the battery LOAD checked to see what shape it is at and also have them check the alt as well, as far as the other lights could be due to a speed sensor starting to go bad or have some trash affecting them or others problems with the ring that reads the speed sensor, I have a 2014 and got those 3 lights that came on and (abs, traction control and brake light and it was a bad abs unit) IF your battery checks out good I would first remove the battery cables and clean the post real good to see if that helps since you are in a lot of salt and corrasan on the post could be causing the problems,ys I know its a pain to do this but do the free stuff first, good luck and report back on what you find out to be your problem for others to see
  14. 2 yr old battery as mentioned have the battery load checked or just replace it and also then get the alt checked to make sure it is functionally correctly...also check all the grounds at every connection for clean and tight connections.....Please report back for others to learn what is causing your problems.......................................................................................................The consequences of a low voltage reading can be severe, including: Difficulty starting the engine Dim or flickering headlights Malfunctioning accessories, such as the radio or wipers Damage to the electrical system, including the alternator and starter motor Reduced battery life........................................The ideal voltage range for a car battery is between 12.4 and 12.7 volts. This range ensures that the battery is fully charged and can provide the necessary power to the vehicle’s electrical system. A voltage reading of 12.2 volts is below the ideal range and may indicate a problem with the battery or the electrical system.
  15. what I meant there must be a lot more work or things wrong on your brakes for a $ 1700 repair bill,,didn't mean to offend you,so good luck on whatever you decide
  16. .only 27 k on it they are trying to rape you, or it has a different story not being told.....definitely go somewhere else even salty weather wouldn't cause that kind of problems,,, I was raised in Mich till I was 21 yrs old moved to Al and I am 72 yrs old as of now
  17. just call around the local garages for a check and price for all 4 corners...To be honest you shouldn't need brakes all the way around for a 2020 journey ,of course we don't know how you drive and also the all important question of how many miles are on the journey...brakes on your journey should have lasted you at least 100 k unless they were abused by heavy stop and go driving..... quality brake pads for all 4 corners should be less than 200 plus 4 new rotors price can vary from 200-400 depending where you buy them from,,,check out Amazon for rotors and pads I only use anadarko pads....actually only the rear are a bit more trouble than the front since you have to rotate the caliper piston instead of compressing them like the front
  18. check All your wires going to the coils and also also clean the connectors also look for any green on the grounds and wires as well very important for a smooth running engines esp up north.....yrs ago my daughters caravan 3.3 kept having intermittent problems running bad, after the starting with plugs and the usually stuff her mechanic said it was her coil going bad he replaced it, ran fine for a while then started acting up again he said the coil was bad again replaced under warranty ran fine for a bit, then started acting up again he replaced the coil again ran fine for a while ,and then started acting up again when he replaced the coil again all under warranty he noticed inside the plastic cap connected to the coil a wire was loose ,plastic was melted a bit he fixed that and NO more problem ....similar problem with a fan switch under the hood on sons old car, sometimes worked and then it wouldn't I found the bad connector and hard wire it back together NO more overheating on that car as well...all in the Alabama weather with hardly any bad salt weather
  19. cant remember, guess whatever their brand they were , came with a 4 yr warranty if I remember correctly I only buy my tires from discount tire company...have never had a problem with them
  20. , don't go to the dealership,,, ANY tire store can replace them my 2014 started acting up a few yrs ago and I just replaced therm all at discount tire store here in Al. cost was around $260 for all 4 ,,you can do it yourself if you want to/have the ability to remove the old ones and reinstall the new ones for a lot less,,,just buy good ones not the cheap knock offs
  21. sad to say but hardly anyone comes back to say what actually fixed their original problems after telling us how much they paid out about using a shotgun for the problems..without proper testing and knowledge of the tourneys history as well...probally best bet is to take it to the dealership ...YES it will be expensive but they have the equipment to fix the journey
  22. I would have to agree with the recall as well.i have had my 2014 replaced twice as well thur the yrs , both times it has done the same things or just flicker and both times they said they just replaced the camera lens in the lift gate. I do have the unlimited warranty but it still cost me a ded of 100 but I usually waited till something else was giving me a problem as well so I wouldn't have an extra charge....the Government has come down hard on other manufactures but never on dodge guess not enough to folks have had the problem and of course our journeys have been put out to pasture....might try to go after market on the camera lens as they really are not to expensive, others on here have done it I believed good luck
  23. you need to use youtube for videos on how to remove your door panels and to see what you need to repair, probally a cable came loose or some plastic braken ,,,never have had any problems with mine but.good luck
  24. there also should be a flat braided wire going from one of those studs and connects to a stud on the engine mount area as well, they had a service bulletin yrs ago about those wires letting mositer go up the plastic coverings and causing problems as well,,,,I had the recall done on it but just around 3 yrs ago the electronic part of the ABS went bad and they replaced it under my extended warranty when the part finally came in from the out of stock backlog
