  1. transmission service at 100 k along with plugs and coolant service,BUT if you are keeping your journey for the long term...i had my trans serviced at 60 k and then again at 100 k along with the plugs and coolant service....all up to you
  2. dealership just trying to rip you off, my 2014 145 k havent had the brake fluid changed but it might be a good idea for me with my mileage but the fluid is still clear and clean, there are test you can have done on the fluid to see the condition it is in,and fuel service is just preventive service that 99% of drivers wont or dont,,,which i havent done as well and stay away from most chain stores like pep boys and such as they will rip you off as well..... read your manual and that is all you need to do that is listed in the service section
  3. so is this a new noise you are hearing.,,, as you know all journeys have a slight clunking or creaking noise going over small bumps or uneven road....have you had it checked for the ball joints and tie rods going bad, or strut, and the strut mounts, and or sway bar mounts? after all the journey has over 100 k miles and is 14 yrs old
  4. yes if you change out the ABS module and pump out it has to be added to your journey thur a scanner, that said it could be a wheel bearing as well i have been waiting over 8 months for a ABS module thur the dealership as it will be covered under my warranty IF they ever get one in stock..my code was for internal fault ABS
  5. i have been waiting on an ABS module for my journey for over 8 months as of now, none available from the dealership or part stores as well, at least i am lucky the journey will still work. it just dont have the anti braking on it,,,this is what happens when all the parts are made overseas.
  6. quickest option would be the local scrap/junk yards for a used one LKQ is a national one that comes to mind, but everywhere has a local scrap yard and the 2.4 engine is a popular engine,so it should be easy to find a bad engine with the pump you need, check with your local body shops for more info... good luck on fining the part and please report back on what you find
  7. haven't heard of a problem like this, sounds like you unloaded the parts cannon on it tho, what ever you find out, please report back on your solution in case others come up with this problem, welcome to the group
  8. the abs wire is above the wheel bearing on the front rears are different..........just dont do like this guy does and let your caliper hang by the hose...........check out youtube for more vidios on replacement and watch them all to get the best idea on doing it...........
  9. i was told that Schrader was the OEM tpms used by dodge
  10. he can also use his oil dipstick that he can mark with a file to see how much fluid he has in the trans. check out youtube videos on how to correctly mark the oil dipstick as well......also hard to believe the 9yr old journey only has 28 k on it,
  11. doubt it is the blower res,,,, as they are always good or bad in my experience with them over the years
  12. depends if you have the tools and to remove the tire and install the sensor that part is easy then reinflate the tire and then use a scanner to initiate the tpms to the computer...be careful as there are different types of tpms and the way they install and if the have to be scanned or plug and play.....the tire store did tell me that inflating a tire and deflating the tires are what cause the tpms to wear the battery out..as i said mine were org from 2014...PLEASE report back on what you find to be your problem for others to learn from
  13. i have a 2014 and was having problems with one tire not registering and then working for a bit then not working again,i moved it to a different spot on the journey but it didnt move with the position change, i was going to check the module but never got around to it, and then had my journey checked at the local Discount Tire shop on 2 different times for the tpms and they said the first time they were good and then 2 weeks later they said 2 of them were bad.i had them replace all 4 of them and that fixed the problem... even tho yours is a 2018 that might be the problem i would just replace the one you are having a problem with.. good luck
  14. well the center armrest the vinyl was starting to crack and i got to checking youtube and found some videos that show how to remove it and then reinstall a new vinyl covering in place of the old one, kind of a lot of trouble, and then seen one video on using a stretchy cover that i found off amazon, I really wasnt to fond of trying this BUT it had such good reviews from thoes that had tried it and also it had free return on it if i didnt like it.......so i ordered it and it came in this morning and i moved both seats forward and then leaned them as flat as possible and then hopped in the rear seat and raised the armrest up, and then started installing the the rear of the cover onto the armrest BUT dont slip it under the rear part as it will be to tight to slip it over the front,,, then get it pulled over the front and make sure you dont forget to have the velcro closures caught under the cover and then you can shift it around and then tighten the velcro strips as tight as you can get it....I have to admit the vinyl cover doesn't look OEM gloss black smooth, but more flat black pebble grain but it does look really nice and it doesn't slip around or shift. and i am real fussy about certain things and this is a great easy way to fix your arm rest for less than $20, and 10 minutes of time..........they also have them for all different makes of cars and trucks INTGET Center Console Cover for 2011-2020 Dodge Journey Accessories Leather Middle Armrest Cover Arm Rest Box Lid Protector Car Seat Box Cover for Dodge Journey Visit the INTGET Store 4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 127 ratings Lowest price in 30 days -5% $19.99$19.99
  15. i would replace that p/s cooler since it has lost the fins that help cool the fluid ,, your choice tho. this was just discussed a few days ago on here
  16. welcome to the group... great you got it fixed, yrs ago my oil pressure sending unit went bad while on a tgrip ,the unit maxed out on high pressure but the journey never went into limp mode i made it to the next dodge dealership and they replaced it under warranty, he said a lot of 2014 were having this problem due to the unit shorting out but that their was no actual problem with the oil pump and pumping the oil
  17. you can buy the tpms fairly cheap ( $29-39) if you have a way to break them down and install them and them use a scanner to get them to work Discount tire installed Schrader and gave me a 6 yr/72 k warranty on them cost me almost $300, you can get them off amazon or rock auto for the best prices,,,since yours is a 2014 like mine just replace all 4 and get it over with
  18. what do we win? a little more back info would help
  19. the antena just screws in, so you can drill a small hole in the middle of the broken part and then use an extraction screw bit to remove the piece. it shouldn't be in there to tight i had to replace mine but it wasnt broke off like that...........harbor fright....... WARRIOR Screw Extractor and Left-Hand Drill Bit Combo Set, 10 Piece (384) $999
  20. wouldn't be the plugs with the eng reving up that high so quick, this needs to go to a mechanic so they can pull the codes and find out the problem please report back on what you find out for others that might have this happen..good luck
  21. replace your battery and then have your local part store check your alt. to make sure it is charging properly
  22. i bet your right on the trans, i believe you got a great deal there
  23. from his post i would assume the new torque converter/labor was included in the 1200 price
  24. rock auto type in ,,,,dodge journey 2013 upper rear control arm,,,,,,,,brings up all you need to look at there are upper AND lower so make sure you order the right ones,,,,,,,, OEM / Interchange Numbers: 68079539AA, 68079539AB, 68079539AC, 68079539AD, 68079539AE
  25. they are called different names but the part is fairly cheap on amazon anywhere from $20 to $50 each side and then you will need a 4 wheel alignment which runs around $95... i kept having problems with mine using the oem that is non adj so i went aftermarket and had them install the adj kind which of course is more expensive but then if it gets out of adj they can make the adj to be right again i paid around 400 for mine yrs ago it was during the winter and i didnt want to fool with installing them my self but it isn't hard, only 2 large bolts on each side check out you tube for more info on installing this part.....so that cost is extremely high for the cheaper ones which you can buy both sides for less than 100 and then plus the 4 wheel alinement........if its the rear upper control arms that are bad,,, you WILL ruin your rear tires real quick on the inside of the tires so get it fixed mine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, never made a squeak ACDelco Professional 45K0225 Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm 4.9 out of 5 stars 12 $84.78$84.78 two different brands offered on amazon price is just for 1 part so times 2= $169. i perfree this brand a lot better part and then later on if out of alignment it can be adj Metrix Premium 2 PCS Rear Upper Control Arm RK643056 Fits 2011-2014 Chrysler 200, 2011-2014 Dodge Avenger, 2011-2018 Dodge Journey $48 for 2 of them have never used this brand Visit the METRIX PREMIUM CHASSIS PARTS Store 5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 7 ratings $48.00$48.00
