Will that take into account figuring out where to move it to and moving it there? You're getting rid of it anyways... it's been real, good luck on your square wheel thing.
Not sure if your only reason to joining the forum was to complain, but that's a bigger waste of time than replacing your battery. Moving on to real posts...

1-2 hours to replace your battery??  I changed mine (twice now) on my 09 Journey in 30-40 mins.  If it took you 2 hours you stopped for a beer.  All my Jeep forum does is bitch how fast the batteries in Cherokees are ruined by heat under the hood.  You get about 3 years out of a battery.  And really, who looks at where the battery is when they are car shopping!  First world problems.....

With the engine covered under the 5 yr/50k powertrain warranty, have you taken it in to your local dealer?  Your car is 3 years old at most so you shouldn't be having these issues. Let them figure it out... and pay for it.

dont understand about the cables touching each other as they couldn't have been attached to the battery to short out to each other?

Isn't it under warranty? Just have them look at it and do the work. I just got some warranty work done on my Ford...$4000, nothing out of my pocket.

As mentioned, get the battery and alternator checked. I assume you got a good price for it and got it checked before buying? Seems like you have had issues from the get go. A fresh battery seems to do wonders for these cars.

i assume you have had the alt checked since you say the lights dim while at a light, also some have said their problem with dead batteries was the fuse that controls their blue tooth and by pulling it ( the one under the glove box solved their problems)good luck and please report back on what you find to be the problem

Get your battery checked at the same time. Just because it's 2 years old doesn't mean it is still charging correctly. If it was a bargain battery or possibly a defective battery, you may need to replace... possibly under warranty.

You sound like me a few years ago when I had 5 vehicles in the driveway with only two drivers. We're down to 4 vehicles, with 4 drivers, and after a slew of different cars the DJ has been very good to me and most of the drivers in my home also enjoy my DJ over their cars. Although I do keep looking at the Durango now that the Explorer changed its body style. Only because I'm looking for more towing power.

    Good luck on your hunt.

$185 seams like a pretty good price from a dealership for OEM replacements.

    I'm a cheap-o too.
Yes, I was very nervous at the thought of removing the intake, but after the fact, it's not really that big of a deal.  Just takes a bit time and patience.  It took me an entire, but leisurely, Saturday morning to replace the plugs.
I'm very glad I went through the process to learn how to change my plugs myself, as it turned out when doing the plugs, I found one of the spark plug tubes was filled with oil due to a gasket leak.  If I would have had the car at a dealership, that would have tacked on another $200-$300 (or more) to the bill.  I was able to cleanup the oil, change the plugs, put it all back together, then research how to fix the spark plug tube gasket.  On another occasion I then went back in, this time even further in, and pulled the valve cover to replace the tube gasket and valve cover gasket.  All of this is well outside my comfort zone, but again, after the fact, it wasn't difficult, nor require specialized skills or tools.  YouTube and this forum are my friend.

I don't have personal experience on this, but you may want to check your battery. If the battery is weak, the security system will kick in and not let you start. Check the charge on the battery to make sure it is good. Plenty of these issues online with Chrysler cars.

Well, you started with the basics which is good. Now you have to be thorough. I've learned that a hairline crack, a little corrosion, or even rust can affect a fuse. On the flip side, there might be some corrosion on the fuse box itself that might not be letting it get a good current. See any white crap on there?  Don't do anything else until you are positive the fuse is good and you are getting a current to the switch. Otherwise you might be chasing a speculation.
