    larryl reacted to 5rebel9 in 3.6 stalling/bucking while driving...FINALLY shows code P0339
I doubt that would help as the starter on the 3.6 is on the front side and the CKPS is back side on the 3.6. Located on a FWD with only the right driveshaft in the way{and no problem to get to the CKPS}. BUT the AWD has the transfer case covering it and MINIMAL room to even get a wrench at the single bolt that latches it to the engine block.

My friend has only seen 2 other AWD 3.6's have the problem and and his way is to remove the rear bank converter, pull the right axle and possibly unbolt and shift over the transfer case to get to the sensor. WHEN he can get his bay open, he will call me and we'll work on it TOGETHER. Don't look for pic's as I won't have time to take them or the PC skills to post them......LOL

You are best off downloading to a USB stick or using a SD card for music it works flawlessly in my 13.....good luck

After following that video, here's the results!
    Before

    and after

After installing the unit and verifying it works, but before you close everything up, you'll want to turn off the car and radio, then move rocker switch "2" to the "1" or "On" position. Then restart the radio by going to Acc mode. You will see a little + sign in a corner...that's for helping you calibrate the touchscreen. After you finish the calibration, return the rocker switch to "0" or "Off". Watch this video for the procedure

Always start with scanning for codes. Even if check engine light is not on. Which engine, milage ?
Bad shaft would clunk but still likely allow car to move.  Transmission related item most likely.

larryl reacted to My Journey With DJ in Highest Mileage Journey... Who's in it for the long haul?
About two months ago I hit a quarter of a million miles on my '09 Journey (I have a video of it rolling over but it exceeds the allowable upload limit). I bought it in December 2011 when it had 44,268 miles on it. Two of the years I've owned it I was working overseas so all my mileage was put on in a nine and a half year period (~22,000 miles per year).

My children were still little when I bought it and I would say we have put as many memories on it as we have put miles on it.

"DJ" (my youngest was the one who started calling it DJ and the name has stuck for obvious reasons) has its quirks, but then again, so do I, lol. So I don't think this Journey will come to an end in the foreseeable future.

larryl reacted to DnS1821 in 2009 journey, lots of issues!
Hey all, I have a 2009 dodge Journey that has been the biggest pita. It all started when it jumped time and I had the timing chain replaced. It was fine for a few weeks but not it will either just straight up not start or it will start and then die after driving a few miles or it will start and run fine then not restart after being turned off. It doesn’t have to warm up for the last option to happen if it start and runs and you shut it down after just a few seconds or so of idling it will go back to not starting. When it won’t start it won’t even crank, the brake pedal locks up and everything like it is repeatedly going into anti theft. Sometimes this can be fixed by using jumper cables, very rarely it will start if you unlock the shifter and move into neutral and try to start from there. What could cause this? Is it possible it could be something as simple as the battery? It will also die after idling too long and sometimes when pressing the gas to drive the car jerks violently. Also the driver window will almost never roll up which only started after the mechanic did the timing but is probably unrelated I’m just covering all bases and last but not least the wipers and signals are backs which only started after the timing job (if you turn on the signals the wipers com on instead) I know this is a long post and a lot of info to go through but I want to sale this car and don’t want to pawn a terrible car off on someone so trying to fix it first.

09 with a timing chain? I GUESS you have the 2.4 L {4 cylinder} motor? YES it could be simple as dying battery OR dirty battery cable connections ob ALL the multipoint POS and NEG cables and battery terminals.

I remove the NUTS {10mm socket} and then used both hands to hold the module and the other to work the connector off, YES a bit snug thanke to dirt/heat in that area. with the module unfastened there is more working room, especially with my huge mitts!

I just bent the top of the liner arch down and worked it down toward the front of the wheel arch until I could SEE and work with the 2 6mm /10mm socket nuts and unplug the connector. My son has NOT REPORTED any more "glitches", BUT he has a LOT GOING ON and LONG work hours.

You MAY want to look up the "running"{current} thread topic ... TPMS failure. Myself and a few other active members have been discussing our same concerns and the possible cause/repair needed. There can be multiple reasons WHY a system may malfunction.

Hot today for western NY 82f ! Just got done reinstalling the original TPM module and went on another "auto learn" drive cycle. ALL wheels are reading and NO EVIC message or warning lite. I put Di- electric grease into the harness plug connectors when putting back together. I'll find out how things do in the morning!

On a side note, my friend GAVE me a sensor tester/programmer scanner as he now has 4 of them. I did an afternoon of "learning" how it works.
Found all 4 wheel sensors are OE brand Schrader sensors and they ALL test good. just don't know if they are original or replacements

New {reman} or USED alternators? The voltage regulator is located in the ECM{PCM} box. check wiring from there to the alternator, and if good you MAY be looking at needing a new{reman} ECM{PCM} box.

If you have a functioning 8.4" display it doesn't have to be changed to install the RB5 TGM.

Note that if you upgraded from the 4.2" display and did not have Siruius/XM radio and did not install the satellite antenna (which provides for both GPS and Sirius/XM) you will need to do so before the NAV will wor,
