  1. Hey all, I have a 2009 dodge Journey that has been the biggest pita. It all started when it jumped time and I had the timing chain replaced. It was fine for a few weeks but not it will either just straight up not start or it will start and then die after driving a few miles or it will start and run fine then not restart after being turned off. It doesn’t have to warm up for the last option to happen if it start and runs and you shut it down after just a few seconds or so of idling it will go back to not starting. When it won’t start it won’t even crank, the brake pedal locks up and everything like it is repeatedly going into anti theft. Sometimes this can be fixed by using jumper cables, very rarely it will start if you unlock the shifter and move into neutral and try to start from there. What could cause this? Is it possible it could be something as simple as the battery? It will also die after idling too long and sometimes when pressing the gas to drive the car jerks violently. Also the driver window will almost never roll up which only started after the mechanic did the timing but is probably unrelated I’m just covering all bases and last but not least the wipers and signals are backs which only started after the timing job (if you turn on the signals the wipers com on instead) I know this is a long post and a lot of info to go through but I want to sale this car and don’t want to pawn a terrible car off on someone so trying to fix it first.
